Red Jeep Found After 1 Year Missing + California Tire Ban

Jeep Talk Show – Tragic Oregon Jeep Discovery, California's Tire Ban (2029/2033), Shopping Cart Roundtable & More Well hey Jeepers, welcome back to another jam-packed episode of the Jeep Talk Show with Tony and Josh. We open on a somber note with the recent discovery of a crashed 2005 red Jeep Wrangler off Highway 6 in Oregon's Tillamook area. Loggers/ODF personnel found the vehicle (linked to a September 2025 missing persons case out of Beaverton) along with skeletal remains believed to be those of Eddie Hair (Hare) and Scott Smith, both in their late 60s. Official identification is pending (dental records/personal effects), but the registration and circumstances point strongly to the two men who never returned from an outdoor/wheeling trip. We discuss the tragic accident angle, the "red Jeep curse" running joke since 2020, and some classic banter about James Dean and why red Jeeps seem to stick in people's memories. Then we dive deep into California's brand-new Replacement Tire Efficiency Program (approved by the CEC in mid-August 2026). Starting with tires manufactured on or after January 1, 2029, replacement passenger and light-truck tires sold in California must meet a maximum rolling resistance of roughly 9.0–9.1 N/kN (with a minimum wet-grip requirement). Phase 2 tightens it further to about 7.1–7.2 N/kN beginning January 1, 2033. Industry estimates suggest this could eliminate ~70% of current tire models from California shelves. Listener voicemails follow (including DR in Utah checking in after a long absence and sharing updates on the Jeep Scrambler/IFS talk plus personal notes, and Nicky G with a string of classic dad jokes). Then it's Round Table time: When (and why) do you put the shopping cart/basket/buggy back? Tony fires off a rant about free labor and shaming stickers; the crew (Glenn, John Lee, Rick, Bob, Travis and others) share honest takes ranging from "always, respect/karma/old-school raising" to "only if it's right next to me—I'm not working for the store." Robots, Walmart in-home delivery, and future trail-side parts robots even make an appearance. We close the "F*CK You, You F*CK" segment with a heated takedown of drivers who come to a near-complete stop to turn into a strip-mall, Burger King, or driveway—white-knuckle, wedding-cake-in-the-trunk style. Pit maneuvers and cow-catcher fantasies ensue. Timestamps: 00:00 – Oregon Jeep Crash Linked to Missing Persons Case 02:46 – Red Jeeps and the Fatality Legend 05:57 – California's Upcoming Tire Rolling‑Resistance Ban 16:40 – Potential Phase Three and Mud‑Tire Restrictions 17:44 – Political Backlash to California Tire Regulations 18:52 – Policy Logic vs Feelings Debate 22:54 – Tire Market Impact and Personal Reflections 27:04 – Rant on California Environmental Policies 27:40 – Potential Legal Pushback Against California Policies 28:49 – Company Relocation and Exodus from California 29:39 – Show Promotion and Listener Engagement 32:33 – Fun Trivia and Jokes Segment 33:06 – Closing Remarks for Joke Segment 33:41 – Grocery Basket Etiquette and Future Automation 44:37 – Robotic Delivery and Basket Automation 47:36 – In‑Home Delivery Services and Their Impact 49:56 – Upcoming Episodes and Audience Engagement 53:59 – Final Closing and Call to Action Key Highlights Tragic update on the missing Beaverton Jeepers and the red 2005 Wrangler found off Hwy 6 Full breakdown of California's new tire efficiency standards and what it means for AT/hybrid tires, mud terrains (exempt), prices, and the broader market Honest Round Table on shopping-cart etiquette Classic JTS rant energy on terrible drivers Got thoughts on the California tire rules (especially if you're in CA), the Oregon story, cart habits, or those crawl-to-turn drivers? The widely recommended replacement point for everyday/wet driving is 4/32". Many shops and safety groups push 5–6/32" for trucks, SUVs, and wet/snow climates. Safest way to tow any Jeep (TJ/YJ/JK/JL/JT/Gladiator): all four wheels off the ground (flatbed or wheel-lift + front dolly). Minimum setup if you must two-wheel tow: transfer case in Neutral, automatic transmission in Park (or manual in gear), steering unlocked, parking brake off, lockers unlocked. For longer distances, remove driveshafts. Atlas transfer cases have distance limits when flat-towed — pull the shafts if you're going far. Tackform Jeep Phone Mounts That Actually Stay Put | Full Interview

Tony sits down with Nick from Tackform (tackform.com) to dig into the world of rugged, vehicle-specific phone, tablet, radio, and device mounts built for Jeeps and serious off-road use.** Nick has been designing and producing phone and device mounts since 2012. The company started in the consumer space, expanded into motorcycles and commercial trucks, then pivoted hard into pickup trucks and SUVs—especially the Jeep community. They specialize in modular, all-metal systems using 20 mm (and larger 26-series) ball-and-socket arms, slim track and Assault Track (Picatinny-style) dash brackets, MagSafe/magnetic holders, spring cradles, and wireless charging options. Key topics covered Why vent mounts and suction cups fail hard on Jeeps (and why solid, no-drill OEM-hole solutions matter) Building custom dash kits for Gladiator, JL, JK, and working backward toward TJ/YJ/XJ Wireless inductive charging cradles (including their new 25-watt version with Peltier cooling plate to fight heat) Magnetic mounts for GMRS handhelds and Midland MXT series mics Starlink mounting options (and why the 26-series ball is better for the heavier load) Load ratings, vibration control, billet CNC aluminum vs. injection-molded parts, and why they constantly iterate Funny customer requests and the realities of scanning new vehicles for perfect fitment The modular "Lego" ecosystem that lets you mix phone holders, radios, switch panels, and cameras Nick walks through how Tackform approaches engineering for real-world abuse, why they prefer billet for many Jeep brackets (easier to iterate), and the challenges of getting hands on brand-new vehicles for scanning and prototyping. https://www.tackform.com Find them on Instagram (tackform.systems / @tackform), Facebook, and their YouTube channel for install videos. 00:00 – Show Opening and Guest Introduction 01:17 – Phone Mount Market and CarPlay Subscription Issues 03:03 – Developing Wireless Charging Phone Mounts 04:29 – Configurable Dash Kit Builder Overview 05:34 – Custom Power Wiring and Hidden Installation 06:39 – OEM Mounting Points and Integrated Power Ports 08:13 – Jeep Modification Culture and Device Mounting Trends 09:13 – Starlink Mount Solutions for Jeeps 11:01 – Ball-and-Socket Mount Architecture and Load Limits 13:53 – GMRS/CB Radio Mounts and Magnetic Attachments 15:43 – Product Development Process and Continuous Innovation 17:17 – Gathering and Evaluating Unusual Product Ideas 17:49 – Creative and Quirky Mount Ideas 18:45 – Safety Limits for Mount Extensions and Airbag Zones 19:19 – Vehicle Acquisition, Scanning, and Prototype Timeline 21:51 – Vibration Management and Material Rigidity in Mount Design 22:56 – Testing Deflection and Vibration on Plastic Tray Mounts 24:04 – Engineering Specificity and Design Optimization 24:44 – Balancing Design Complexity and User Needs 25:22 – Material Choice: Billet vs Injection Molding and Iterative Design 26:49 – CNC Machining vs Tooling: Cost and Volume Trade‑offs 28:44 – Aesthetic Design and Billet Manufacturing Appeal 29:40 – Adapting to New Vehicle Models and Resource Constraints 32:10 – Vehicle Scanning Process and Development Cycle 34:20 – Community Involvement and Simplified Kit Options 35:09 – Customer Commitment and Apology 35:57 – Highlighting Best‑Selling Phone Holder Products 37:23 – Wireless Charging Cradle with Peltier Cooling 39:08 – Phone Overheating, Wireless Charging, and Shade Solutions 40:53 – Inductive Charging in Autonomous Vehicles and Future Outlook 42:27 – Future of Vehicle Mounts, Subscriptions, and Emerging Technologies 43:46 – Tech Evolution and Subscription Model Critique 44:16 – Overview of Best‑Selling Products and Product Range 44:55 – Grab Handle Mounts and Product Variety 45:26 – Manufacturing Capabilities and Equipment Flexibility 46:17 – Managing Overseas Suppliers and Quality Control 47:05 – Automation Costs and Custom Manufacturing in the US 49:14 – US Manufacturing Facilities and Automation Examples 50:03 – Plans for Behind‑the‑Scenes Video Content 54:54 – Closing Remarks and Appreciation Tackform All Metal Dash Mount Phone Holder Compatible with 2024 2025 Jeep Wrangler JL, 4xe and Gladiator JT View on Amazon Tackform TRAXX Slim Track / Assault Track Dash Mounts (MagSafe options) for JL and Gladiator View on Amazon Tackform Link Grab Handle/A-Pillar Mount with Magnetic Phone Holder Compatible with MagSafe, 2018-2023 Jeep Wrangler JL, and 2020-2023 Jeep Gladiator JT | All-Metal | CNC Billet Aluminum | Black View on Amazon Tackform Magnetic CB / GMRS Microphone Holders and related Jeep dash kits View on Amazon Visit our website: https://jeeptalkshow.com/ Watch/Listen on Spotify https://jeeptalkshow.com/spotify Join our Discord Server: https://jeeptalkshow.com/discord Subscribe to our newsletter: https://jeeptalkshow.com/newsletter Help Support the show via Patreon: https://jeeptalkshow.com/patreon

Jeep Scrambler Coming in 2028? Tony & Josh React to the Halo Desert Truck

Jeep Talk Show – New Jeep Scrambler Plans, Battery Trickle Charging Tips, Video Voicemails & More Welcome back to the Jeep Talk Show, the longest-running and best Jeep podcast out there! Tony and Josh (back in the mix) dig into Jeep's upcoming Scrambler, why they think it's going to happen around 2028, the design details that have them both excited and pissed off (IFS front *and* rear? Side steps? Modular rear seats that flip for tailgating? A K5 Blazer-style removable hatch?), and whether this "halo" desert-racer two-door pickup is actually for Jeep people or just another attempt to chase the side-by-side market. They also cover: Real-world trickle charger problems (and a better, simpler solution) How to leave a proper video voicemail (and why the Camflare redirect is legit) A listener video voicemail from Nathan in Pittsburgh The new "Most Popular / Best Of" page on the website that remembers what you've already heard Bonus segment teaser: Hard shackles vs soft shackles (YouTube members & Patreon only) This is pure Jeep Talk Show — honest opinions, zero corporate filter, and plenty of laughs. Timestamps 00:00 – Intro and Call to Share 01:27 – Scrambler Intro and Bonus Segment Tease 02:32 – Scrambler Prospects and Voice Mail 03:27 – Scrambler Concept and Naming Debate 04:58 – Scrambler Timeline and Near‑Term Outlook 06:59 – Scrambler Design and Utility Features 11:34 – Scrambler Versatility, Halo Role, and Engines 13:05 – Side‑Step Concerns and Design Critique 14:15 – Mic Glitch and Quick Design Note 14:42 – Editing Interlude and Halo Concept 15:27 – Clarifying Halo Terminology 16:44 – Engine Feasibility Discussion 18:10 – Drivetrain Options and SRT Overview 19:21 – Desert Racing Focus 20:13 – IFS vs Solid Axle and Market Strategy 22:01 – Front‑End Design and Styling Highlights 25:02 – Cost Concerns and Trophy‑Truck Aspirations 26:17 – Trophy‑Truck Speculation 27:29 – Jeep Strategy vs Side‑by‑Side Market 30:46 – Success Outlook and Listener Feedback 32:22 – Listener Engagement Options 32:42 – Interactive Listening Challenges 34:12 – CamFlare App Explanation 38:51 – CamFlare Installation and Submission Guidance 40:19 – Personal Updates and Lockbox Mention 41:16 – Trickle Charging Tips and New Charger 47:08 – Bluetooth Load Tester Overview 48:16 – Navigating Podcast Archive 50:07 – Meta Discussion on Episode Length 53:26 – Closing Remarks and Disclaimer Key Highlights Jeep is finally admitting past mistakes and aiming the Scrambler at the high-speed desert / side-by-side crowd instead of pure rock crawling. Expected powertrains include the 2.0 Hurricane, 3.6 Pentastar, and a possible 6.4 392 Hemi SRT version. Tony's take: cool looking, interesting, but IFS (especially rear) means it's not a real Jeep for him. Practical garage tip: many cheap trickle chargers draw power from the battery when "off." A simple automatic maintainer + smart plug schedule fixes it. New website feature: jeeptalkshow.com/bestof (or "Most Popular" in the menu) ranks the top 50 episodes by downloads and remembers what you've already played. Share the show. Seriously. Just Pull: The Spring-Loaded Cargo Strap That Beats Ratchet Straps | Jeep Talk Show

Grant shares the real origin story—growing up around dirt bikes and construction with his dad, the moment a tensioned bungee cord sunk into his father's hand, and how that gap in the market stuck with him for years. Full Episode & Show Notes: https://jeeptalkshow.com/just-pull-the-spring-loaded-cargo-strap-that-beats-ratchet-straps-jeep-talk-show/ They dig into the messy reality of inventing and launching a physical product: the prototype phase with Home Depot parts and Alibaba springs, finding the right tension (about 120 lbs on the first model), avoiding the "mailbox money" invention scammers, making and selling the first ugly versions yourself, and why "people don't buy ideas—they buy products." Grant explains how the spring-loaded design works, the continuous polyester limiter band for safety and load rating, why it stays tight when loads shift or compress (coolers, cardboard, UTVs, Jeeps), and the three models (1", 1.5", and the 2" Pro with ratchet) that cover everything from college moves to Moab trailers. The conversation also covers the less glamorous side of business—patent threats that turned into nothing, copycats, why building a strong brand and customer service is better protection than a patent alone, working-load math that goes beyond just vehicle weight, all-weather durability, proper care for lifetime performance, pack sizes, lengths, and extensions. Grant talks about his Invent With Me podcast (helping inventors avoid the same pitfalls he hit) and what's next for TorkStrap: more trade shows, social content, and partnerships rather than diluting the core product. If you've ever cursed a ratchet strap in the rain, watched a load loosen on the highway, or thought about turning a simple idea into a real business, this one's for you. Timestamps 00:00 – AI Sign Language for Deaf Viewers 00:41 – Early Inspiration for Better Cargo Straps 02:36 – Childhood Prototypes Reveal Market Gap 04:10 – COVID Motivation to Launch Business 07:04 – Inventor Licensing Pitfalls and DIY Sales 09:48 – Prototyping, Sampling, and First Customers 11:52 – Designing the Spring-Loaded Torque Strap 14:06 – How Torque Straps Work and Their Benefits 22:48 – Creative Branding Ideas for Torque Straps 24:05 – Facing Competition and Patent Infringement 27:33 – Defending the Product Against Patent Claims 28:12 – Commitment to Quality and Customer Support 29:10 – Competing with Copycats and Maintaining Reputation 30:05 – Encouraging Ethical Purchasing 30:58 – Patent Vulnerabilities and Enforcement Challenges 35:53 – Introducing the Invent With Me Podcast 37:17 – Calculating Load Ratings and Strap Sizing 44:28 – All-Weather Durability and Maintenance 45:30 – Spring Longevity and Packaging Options 47:02 – Pricing Packs and Managing Expectations 48:04 – Customizing Strap Lengths for Use 49:01 – Strap Longevity and Care Guidelines 50:50 – Subscription Idea Mentioned 51:04 – Social Media Presence and Promotion 54:35 – Upcoming Marketing Focus for Torque Strap 56:09 – Shift from Engineering to Marketing 56:40 – Humorous Product Concepts and April Fools 57:08 – Closing Remarks and Podcast Promotion 57:42 – Final Thoughts and Gratitude Key takeaways Just pull—spring tension adapts to load shift or compression so you rarely (or never) have to stop and re-tighten. Continuous polyester strap carries the actual load rating; the spring is the adaptive element with a limiter. Three models cover light-to-heavy needs, including a 2" Pro with ratchet for vehicles and heavier cargo. Lifetime warranty when treated with respect; average "cheap strap" life is ~2 years because people leave them in the bed. Best protection in business isn't always the patent—it's being the guy who answers the phone, honors the warranty, and shows up every day. Josh is BACK! Reacts to His FIRST Episode (Ep 43) + Used TJ Buying Guide

Tony and Josh sit down to revisit **Episode 43** (August 2012), the very first episode Josh appeared on the old XJ Talk Show. They play classic clips, react in real time, and laugh at how much has changed (including how young they both sounded). You'll hear the original voicemail from Bob in Moab about XJ unibody reinforcement, Josh's epic transfer-case seal leak story ("pucker moment" on the freeway), the Tom Woods Slip Yoke Eliminator discussion, and the interview with Dan from the 4x4 Podcast — including Tony's heartfelt thanks for Dan's military service and the special flag & certificate Dan later sent. Then the Zoom Roundtable jumps in with practical advice on **buying a used TJ**: frame rust (the real deal-breaker), 4.0 vs. 4-cylinder, soft tops, LJ vs. TJ pricing, and why a solid frame still makes the TJ a fantastic platform in 2026. Josh also delivers one of his classic "You You" rants on slow drivers, and they float the idea of a bonus DIY spill-kit segment (YouTube/Patreon exclusive). **Key Highlights** - Josh's first-ever appearance (Ep. 43) remastered & reacted to - Classic voicemail + transfer-case horror story - Tom Woods SYE talk & why you still need one - Dan (4x4 Podcast) interview + military tribute - Roundtable: What to check before buying a used TJ - Spill kits, soft tops, and real-world build advice - Josh's heated slow-driver rant - Call for video voicemails **Timestamps** (approximate) 00:00:00 Returning and Remastering Early Episodes 00:00:28 Launching First Clip and Audio Apology 00:03:04 Introducing Listener Voicemail Question 00:03:35 Voicemail on Jeep Cherokee Unibody Handling 00:04:53 Reflecting on Audio Changes and 'whatnot' 00:05:57 Using AI to Track Recurring Phrases 00:07:45 Transfer Case Leak and Highway Drama 00:12:32 Slip Yoke Eliminator Pricing and Core Refunds 00:15:52 Encouraging Listeners to Explore Episode 43 00:17:25 Discussing Slip Yoke Eliminator and Spill Kit Idea 00:18:38 Planning Bonus Segment on DIY Spill Kits 00:20:10 Designing Compact Spill Kits for Jeep Adventures 00:22:17 Announcing Bonus Content and Possible Patreon Segment 00:23:11 Dan Interview and Spill Kit Plans 00:30:13 Roundtable Intro: Evaluating Used TJ Purchases 00:35:29 Debating LJ vs TJ: Year, Rust, and Water Issues 00:36:39 Checking Frame Rust in Used TJs 00:36:55 Inspecting Frames: Tools and Owner Communication 00:37:53 Rust Prevention Methods and Their Importance 00:38:53 Four‑Cylinder vs Six‑Cylinder Engines and Failures 00:41:24 Manual vs Automatic Transmissions in Jeep Engines 00:42:01 Dan's Move and Four‑Cylinder Preference for TJs 00:43:40 Assessing TJ Viability and Soft‑Top Options 00:46:55 Driving TJ on Highway: Speed Limits and Performance 00:47:55 Evaluating Four‑Cylinder Engine Limitations 00:48:39 Inline‑Six Torque Advantages Over V‑Engines 00:52:34 Inline‑Six Torque Monster and Its Impact 00:54:14 Soft‑Top Choices: Cost vs Performance 00:54:59 Temperature Considerations and Frame Integrity 00:55:59 Market Prices and Value Comparison of LJs, TJs, JKs 00:59:11 First Impressions of LJ and Scrambler Models 01:00:38 Scrambler Introduction and Design Features 01:01:04 Gladiator Preference and Desert‑Runner Concepts 01:01:40 Law Enforcement and Emergency Use of Jeeps 01:05:38 Municipal Acquisition of Surplus Jeeps 01:06:22 Concluding TJ Advice and Encouraging Buyers 01:12:18 Nikki G's Quick Fire Random Remarks 01:13:03 Aggressive Driving Rant and Speed Limit Commentary 01:16:24 Episode Wrap‑Up and Call for Support 01:18:03 Encouraging Video Voicemails and Community Interaction 01:20:13 Bonus Content Disclaimer and Legal Notice **Call to Action** Got a build question, a part you're staring at in the store, or just want to show us your Jeep? **Jeep Talk Show: Grand Cherokee Airbag Recall, Self-Driving Jeeps, V8 Comeback Rumors & More!** In this episode, Tony and Josh dive into the latest Jeep news and rumors. Tyler from MORRFlate Returns: Copycats, Patents & 4-Tire Air System Exposed

**Boys and Girls, We're Back! Tyler from MORRFlate Returns – Tire Inflation Wars, Copycats, Patents & Off-Road Innovation** We're back with another awesome episode of the Jeep Talk Show! Tyler from MORRFlate joins us again for a raw, honest conversation about building a business in the off-road world, dealing with big-time copycats, patent battles, and why competition (the right kind) actually drives innovation. Tyler has been wheeling Toyotas all over California since he was a kid, lives close to the Rubicon Trail, runs NorCal 4x4 Rescue, co-hosts the Snail Trail 4x4 Podcast, and has poured serious support into trail advocacy. In this return visit (first one was back in September 2025), he opens up about getting threatened by a major player, the reality of enforcing patents, and how a $3M company competes against $45M giants with deep marketing pockets. We dive deep into: - How MORRFlate's 4-tire inflation/deflation system works (connects all four tires as one big air tank, equalizes pressure automatically, saves massive time on the trail) - The frustration of direct copies (even stealing the signature neon green color) - Why patents aren't the silver bullet everyone thinks - Airflow limitations of Schrader valves and future ideas to fix the bottleneck - Building a company from a garage condo to a team of 8+ with a warehouse in Sacramento - Lifetime warranties, obsessive quality control, and hiring fellow off-roaders - AI chatbots on the website, robots in manufacturing, and how AI is changing marketing and product design Tyler also shares his 30-second elevator pitch: MORRFlate makes airing up and down your tires super convenient so you can actually enjoy the trail instead of babysitting a compressor. If you've ever deflated for traction, fought with individual tire hoses, or dreamed of faster air-ups on your Jeep, Toyota, or any rig — this one's for you. **Timestamps:** 00:00:00 Show Opening 00:00:10 Misnaming Moore Flat 00:00:31 Tyler's Background & Sales 00:01:19 Previous Interview & Threats 00:02:06 Acquisition Threat & Patent Journey 00:03:08 Patent Approval & Copycats 00:04:01 Company Name Confidential 00:04:33 Patent Enforcement Costs 00:05:21 Competition and Innovation 00:06:35 Amazon Listings & Pricing 00:08:03 RealTruck Ownership Impact 00:09:12 Podcast Monetization Issues 00:09:41 Morfleet Product Overview 00:11:07 Tire Deflation Benefits 00:12:59 Airflow Limits of Valves 00:13:28 Air Tank Volume Calculations 00:14:43 Limited Tank Capacity Demo 00:15:46 Compressor Performance Insights 00:16:24 Personal Projects & Ideas 00:17:40 Upcoming Valve Projects 00:19:07 Valve Interior Flow Restriction 00:21:41 Heavy Equipment Valve Solutions 00:23:48 Apex Rapid Valve Review 00:24:15 Challenges with Large Tires 00:24:59 Passion for Problem Solving 00:29:04 Warehouse & Quality Control 00:34:48 Lifetime Warranty Strategy 00:37:02 Customer Focus Assurance 00:38:22 Employee Attitude Culture 00:39:50 Testing Competitor Gear 00:40:51 People-Centric Philosophy 00:43:28 Corporate vs Small Business 00:44:07 Politics and Truth 00:45:47 Vendor Conflict Over Copying 00:49:05 AI Chatbot Deployment 00:50:30 AI, Quality Control & Robotics 00:53:25 AI in Product Design 00:54:51 AI Impact on Jobs 00:57:45 Minimum Wage Debate 00:58:49 Digital Media & AI 01:02:40 Show Recap & Future 01:04:25 Closing Thanks 01:06:38 Final Thanks & Friendship 01:09:02 Interview Conclusion **Links:** - MORRFlate Official Site: https://morrflate.com/ (Check out the Quad hose kits, Air Hub, and play with their AI chatbot!) - Tyler on Instagram/X: @4x4ToyotaTyler - MORRFlate on Social: @morrflate - Snail Trail 4x4 Podcast: Search "Snail Trail 4x4" on your favorite platform (830+ episodes!) Vintage Air Turns 50: Gen 5 Jeep AC Kits That Look Factory But Cool Like New

**Interview with Rick Love – President of Vintage Air | Celebrating 50 Years of Classic Vehicle Climate Control!** Today on the Jeep Talk Show, we sit down with Rick Love, longtime President of Vintage Air and SEMA Hall of Fame inductee. As Vintage Air celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2026, Rick shares insights on modern climate control solutions for classic Jeeps and other vintage vehicles. We dive deep into Vintage Air's new **Gen 5 Sure-Fit Systems** specifically designed for Jeep platforms, including: - 1981–1986 CJ5, CJ7 & Scrambler - 1987–1995 YJ Wranglers (V-belt and serpentine belt models) - 1967–1991 Wagoneers & full-size Cherokees These bolt-in kits deliver full **climate control** (heating, A/C, and defrost) while maintaining that classic factory look. Rick explains how the systems use modern R134a refrigerant, high-efficiency blowers, electronic stepper motor controls, and OEM-quality components for dramatically better performance than original or add-on systems. We also discuss: - Why these kits are perfect for restomod and daily-driven classic Jeeps - How they preserve the vintage appearance while delivering modern comfort - Installation tips (25–30 hours for most DIYers) - The new brushless radiator fan kits now available for Jeeps - Dual A/C options for larger vehicles like Wagoneers - Real-world benefits: better cooling, reliable heat, reduced road noise, and freedom from offensive smells when the top is off Whether you're tired of weak factory A/C, no A/C at all, or unreliable old vacuum/cable controls, this episode shows how Vintage Air makes classic Jeep ownership far more enjoyable — especially in hot summers or cold winters. Rick also shares stories from 50 years in the business, including their OEM work on the Ford GT, and why quality components and proper installation matter. Jackery vs EcoFlow vs DIY: Best Portable Power for Jeeps & Blackouts? Roundtable

In this lively **Jeep Talk Show Roundtable**, host Tony and the crew dive into portable power solutions for overlanding, emergency outages, and Jeep adventures. Celebrating **over 700 uploads** and **562,000+ views** on YouTube — plus **16 years** of bringing Jeep enthusiasts together — the discussion kicks off with Tony's frustration over his aging **Jackery** unit (5-6 years old) and its non-replaceable batteries, sparking a rant on engineered obsolescence. The group shares real-world experiences and setups: - Jackery for basic phone charging during Texas blackouts - DIY battery + inverter builds (like Renogy components) for better fixability and larger capacity - **EcoFlow** systems with high-capacity banks, app control, fast alternator charging, and seamless generator integration — even running AC for hours! - Jump starters, small phone packs, and vehicle inverters as simple backups - **Premier Power Welder** on Jeeps: an under-hood beast that doubles as a 2300W generator for trail-side welding, powering tools, fridges, or even blenders (margaritas included!) Expect laughs, debates on solar limitations, tips for avoiding popped breakers, and shoutouts to brands like Redarc, Goal Zero, and Bluetti. Whether you're prepping for blizzards, off-grid camping, or just keeping your phone alive on the trail, this episode is packed with honest Jeep community advice. Fake Badges on Your Jeep | Here's What the Community Says

Hey Jeep fam! 👋 Join Tony and the regular crew for another exciting Jeep Talk Show Roundtable episode. We're diving deep into the world of **jeep** and **off road** adventures, celebrating the **jeep life** with our extended family. This **automotive** discussion features our **wrangler** community, all gathered for a **virtual office** **zoom call** to share their passion. In this episode of the **Jeep Talk Show**, the crew dives into the hilarious and heated debate: **Is it "stolen Jeep valor"** to rock Jeep Badge of Honor badges you didn't earn yourself? We break down the Jeep Badge of Honor program — Jeep's free off-road rewards system where you check in via the app on designated trails (like Holly Oaks, Fins & Things, Hell's Revenge, and more) to earn physical badges mailed to you at no cost. It's all about celebrating real adventures... but what happens when badges end up on a used Jeep from trails the current owner never touched? Or worse — people buying them on eBay, spoofing GPS, or claiming them without hitting the dirt? The roundtable gets real: - Should you peel off badges from a used rig (heat gun works great, apparently)? - Is leaving them on "purchased valor" or just part of the Jeep's history? - Rubicon badges/stickers on non-Rubicons, bragging without backing it up, and those classic trail stories that fall apart fast. - Funny tales of folks who "use their lockers every day" (even pulling into the garage), rental Jeeps logging badges, and why liars get exposed around the campfire quick. We also shout out the program as a conversation starter, share tips for newbies (ask questions — no one's judging until you're in the family!), and plug big plans for **Easter Jeep Safari (EJS) 2026** (March 28 – April 5 in Moab). Join our Discord crew at jeeptalkshow.com/contact for group runs, noobs welcome, and zero gatekeeping. Your Jeep Doesn't Need Modifications (But Maybe You Do)

Hey Jeep fam! 👋 Join Tony and the regular crew for another exciting Jeep Talk Show Roundtable episode. We're diving deep into the world of **jeep** and **off road** adventures, celebrating the **jeep life** with our extended **jeep family**. Tune in for engaging **automotive** discussions and connect with fellow **wrangler** enthusiasts! Join Tony and the crew on the Jeep Talk Show Roundtable for a raw, no-BS conversation about one of the biggest questions in the Jeep world: **Do we really need to modify our Jeeps?** Or are we just pretending to be hardcore off-roaders while our rigs sit mostly as daily drivers? In this episode, we dive deep into: - The guilt of not building like Matt, Rick, and Kevin (welding, breaking parts, and fixing them!) - Bolt-ons vs. hardcore builds — is it progression, making it "your own," or just keeping up with the Joneses? - The "better to have it and not need it" mindset — winches, lifts, big tires... but do they ever see real trails? - Daily driver realities: Loving your Gladiator/TJ/XJ on the road, not wanting to risk breaking it, and why that's totally valid - Pretenders vs. real wheelers — bro-dozer vibes, 22" rims, and why some folks buy the "best" just to say they did - The fun of progression: Starting with internet research and bolt-ons, meeting people, getting curious, and maybe even learning to weld out of necessity - Adrenaline, pucker factor, great stories from trails like Hell's Gate, Steel Bender, Hidden Falls, and EJS - Why Jeeps are so customizable — and how every mod (even mild ones) keeps the aftermarket alive for everyone We wrap up with the ultimate truth: **It's your Jeep — do it your way.** Whether you're a garage warrior, a weekend warrior, or just love cruising with the top off, there's no wrong answer. Different strokes for different folks! If you've ever questioned your build (or lack thereof), this one's for you. The Factory Aux Battery Trap – What Genesis Offroad Doesn't Want You to Miss

In this episode of the **Jeep Talk Show**, host Tony sits down with Shane from **Genesis Offroad** for an in-depth interview on dual battery systems, power solutions, and keeping your Jeep reliable on and off the trail. Shane shares the origin story of Genesis Offroad—starting with his passion for Jeeps in 2008, launching the company in 2010 during tough economic times, and building high-quality, innovative parts right here in the USA. It all began when he couldn't find a solid dual battery setup for a high-electrical-demand build, so he created his own premium kit—and the rest is history! We dive deep into: - Why the factory auxiliary battery (that pesky little one under the fuse box) is a common pain point—and how Genesis solves it with options like stock relocation kits, stock replacement kits (using two full-size batteries), and full Gen 3 dual battery systems. - The **Gen 3 Power Hub**: Smart battery combining, automatic isolation to protect your cranking battery, bus bars for easy accessory wiring, manual boost switch for jumpstarting, and how it keeps everything running even if something fails. - Advantages of dual batteries: Power accessories (fridge, lights, winch, compressor) with the engine off without killing your starter battery, better winching performance by spreading load, faster restarts, and peace of mind in remote areas. - AGM vs. lead-acid batteries, capacity vs. cranking amps, why Group 25 batteries match or exceed stock performance in a cleaner package, and tips on battery rotation, mismatched batteries, and replacement strategies. - The **G-Screen** monitor: Tiny in-cab display showing voltages, link status (with color alerts: green/yellow/red), boost control, and even optional air pressure readout—no big screens needed! - The newer **Omega system**: Uses a REDARC DC-DC charger for full isolation (great for mixing AGM + lithium), Anderson plug for easy solar input, and Bluetooth app monitoring. - Solar compatibility, snorkel fitment tips (like a quick heat-gun tweak), and support for JL/JLU, JT Gladiator, JK, 392/diesel Wranglers, Toyotas, Broncos, and more—plus universal options. Shane and Amy run a faith-driven, customer-focused business delivering top-notch, American-made products to the off-road community. Whether you're overlanding, daily driving, or just hate dead batteries in inconvenient spots, this setup changes the game. 00:00 Show Introduction and Guest Background 01:19 Auxiliary Battery Issues and Start‑Stop Debate 03:26 Battery Relocation Kit and Installation Details 06:57 Dual‑Battery Kit Evolution and Custom Jeep Market Gap 12:49 Dual Battery System Overview and Operational Mechanics 15:50 Load Sharing, Winching Power, and Current Capacity 17:50 AGM Battery Benefits: Capacity, Ah Ratings, and Installation 21:38 Battery Size, Capacity, and Comparison (Group 25 vs H7) 23:35 Dual Battery System Operation, Boost Feature, and Backup 27:32 Battery Cycle Life, Failure Management & Switching Options 32:49 Dual‑battery system considerations and cost 36:29 Power hub identification and wiring overview 39:22 Benefits and safety advantages of dual batteries 41:01 Potential failures and emergency situations 41:21 Dual Battery Basics:Common Misconceptions, System Limits & Boost Operation 42:59 System Configurations, Start‑Stop and Battery Management 44:39 G‑Screen Monitoring Interface and Features 49:25 Omega DualBattery Kit: Bluetooth, Solar Integration & Vehicle Compatibility Overview 54:55 Installation, Website Resources, and Podcast Details 57:38 IT Support, Battery Tips, Social Media, and Closing Remarks Check out their full lineup, install videos, tech tips, and the "Overcharged" podcast at: 🌐 https://www.genesisoffroad.com 📺 YouTube: Genesis Offroad (great overview and install videos!) 📸 Instagram/Facebook: @genesisoffroad If you're dealing with that auxiliary battery headache, adding accessories, or want reliable power for adventures, watch this now!
