The story of Ruth finally comes full circle as Boaz redeems Ruth in marriage.  The story is not just about Boaz and Ruth, but also prepares us to see the way in which God prepares the way for King David as well as great David's greater Son.

The hope that Boaz will be a redeemer to Ruth and Naomi picks up steam in chapter 3. Naomi hatches a plan for Ruth that will unfold under the cover of darkness and continue the uncertainty of what will happen between Ruth and Boaz.

Though an outsider and a Moabite, Ruth lives by faith in the promises and provisions found in God's Word.  The Lord proves faithful to Ruth and Naomi, preparing us to see the hope of redemption.

Tonight we make the transition from the book of Judges to Ruth.  Ruth's story unfolds in the period of the Judges and is an encouraging reminder that even in the darkest days, God is still at work in the lives of His people.

This is perhaps one of the darkest and heaviest stories in the Old Testament.  The moral degradation in Israel points to the need for a true king who will rule the hearts and lives of the people of God.  That king not only rules, but also saves, forgives, renews, and cleanses His people from all their sin.

In many ways Samson's story leaves us longing for what could have been had Samson's life demonstrated a pattern of faithfulness.  Yet God still used Samson to bring deliverance to His people and even point us forward to the one who's life doesn't leave us longing, but rather imparts to us the fulness of a life blessed by God. 

In chapter 15 we pick up Samson's story midlife and discover that God still uses messy, broken people to accomplish His purposes.

It's hard to finish well.  While there is much in Gideon's life to commend, his struggle at the end of life has much to teach us about the importance of finishing well.

God loves to use the weak things of the world to demonstrate His power.  Gideon and his dwindling army demonstrate that reality in Judges 7.

In Judges 6 we are introduced to the fearful, hiding, Gideon.  An unlikely warrior who will be used powerfully by God.

The sparse details surrounding Othniel and the colorful story of Ehud both draw our attention to the grace of God in delivering his people from the hand of oppression.

Judges chapter 2 provides a fitting introduction to this period of Israel's history and prepares us for what to expect in this book.

Hebrews 11 enables us to have an eternal perspective as we consider the relationships we enjoy throughout this life.

Conflict in relationships is inevitable.  The presence of conflict isn't the issue, the question is how should we navigate those conflicts when they arise?  Tonight we consider a moment of conflict in the lives of Peter and Paul.  Note: This sermon was preached outside in the FAU amphitheater.

We are created for relationships because we are created in the image of God.  Tonight, we look at the reality of what it means that God Himself exists eternally in relationship.

Tonight we consider how the truth of the Gospel and the wisdom of God's Word informs our understanding of dating and pursuit of romance.

Friendship is one of the many blessings God bestows upon His people. We shouldn't be surprised then to discover we have much to consider in stewarding well these relationships.  

Our culture abounds with confusion and obsession about sex.  Tonight we turn to God's Word for clarity and direction in how to live faithfully in this area of life.  

Tonight we consider the roles of husband and wife as God lays out his purposes and plans for marriage in Ephesians 5.

God gives clear guidelines about his purposes and plan for marriage.  When Jesus is asked about divorce in Matt 19, his answer to that topic provides significant understanding of the importance and beauty of marriage.  

Psalm 16 enables us to see what it means to have an unshakable identity that is secure in our relationship with God.  Our security in Christ enables us to navigate the challenges and trials we face in life as well as in relationships.  

Even though you've been made for relationships, we have all experienced frustrating relationships.  And if we're honest, we too, have often been the source of other's frustrations.  Genesis 3 enables us to see the significance of sin and is relationship destroying impact.

Join us as we study Genesis 1 & 2.  One significant aspect of what it means to be created in the image of God is that you have been created for relationships.  

At the consummation of history, God promises to make all things new.  In Rev 21 we are given a picture of the beauty of the New Jerusalem, a place where God dwells with His people.

The millennial reign of Christ is the age in which we now live where Satan is bound and Gospel spreads throughout the world.  Join us as we consider this truth from Rev 20.

The theme of marriage is critical to our understanding of God's relationship with His people. Not only is marriage threaded all through the Bible, but it becomes a poignant illustration in Revelation.
