Off on her own quest, Del played into the White Witch’s ego and convinced her to fight with them in Middle-earth. The witch was flattered and intrigued at the prospect of looting another realm then returning to Narnia to rule it. Over at the castle, Guy grew uncomfortable as Mr. Tumnus became enamoured with him, so he ran away toward the Wardrobe to guard the entrance back to Middle-earth. Aslan agreed to help them in Middle-earth, but he wouldn’t speak for anyone else in Narnia, so it was up to Adam and Tyler to speak with the animals. Far from the boys, GanDelf, having exhausted her magic, was released from her bout of madness and returned to her old Del self. She found herself at the feet of Jadis, the White Witch, but luckily she knew the books well and placated the witch by catering to her narcissism. Meanwhile, Guy and Tyler convinced Adam to drink a drop of the cordial, and he was immediately freed from his shadow-induced greed. After a tense meeting with Lucy’s sister, Susan, they met the lion Aslan, who began to wake up everyone who had been turned to stone. Aslan agreed to help them win the war in Middle-earth, but can they survive the war in Narnia first? Tyler, Guy, and GanDelf leapt into the wardrobe and stepped into fresh air and a snowy landscape. GanDelf was struck with shadow madness and quickly wandered off on her own while Guy and Tyler found Adam and tried to recall what they knew about Narnia. The boys headed towards the sound of a lion’s roar, hoping it was Aslan, and came upon a castle surrounded by a variety of creatures frozen in place. They were soon met by Lucy, a young girl who immediately sensed the darkness in Adam and conspired with Guy to give him a drop of her magical cordial to cure whatever ailed him. The Fellowgroup followed Hibbett T. Jibbety through Minas Tirirth towards his rooms and the wardrobe. Along the way, Tony and Yolo voiced their concern about the darkness surrounding Adam and GanDelf, they all came up with scholar aliases, and Guy flirted so the others could sneak off to see the wardrobe. Once they regrouped in Jibbety’s room, Adam entered the wardrobe alone. He pushed his way through the coats, but as he tried to leave, he instead stepped onto fresh snow. Back outside, the others realized something was wrong and leapt in after him. Can Yolo be trusted to keep the wardrobe safe while Wet Change is stuck in Narnia? As the Fellowgroup tried to convince the scholar to grant them access to the wardrobe, they received more disturbing news. Denethea had arrived, though she had been strangely quiet, along with a dwarf delegation from Moria that included Blemblo, who was now a wizard and had been the one to broker peace with Mordor. Adam convinced the scholar to let him check the wardrobe for dangerous sproingy armour that the dwarves may have put there, the scholar agreed to vouch for them, and Tyler and Guy made amends with the tavern owner when they introduced the concept of tipping. At the gates of Minas Tirith, the guards didn’t believe that Tyler was the king, but they were impressed enough with GanDelf’s magic that they let them in anyways and the Fellowgroup entered a tavern that served as sort of border check. After leaving a less-than-stellar impression on the owner, they had better luck with a scholar, who was amazed by Tyler’s health card and recognized the sword from Rivendell that had been reforged. The Fellowgroup had a restless night. Guy patched up Tony Dumdum, Adam tried to comfort Tony with mud pillows and nursery rhymes but it didn’t really help, GanDelf got even more frustrated and depressed over her failed pipe smoke shapes, and Tyler spent the night making sure his friends weren’t spiraling or getting lost. The next morning, they arrived at Minas Tirith and soon learned that Gondor had become a vassal state of Mordor, the war was evidently over, Denethea had returned, and her father had been crowned king. While Tyler, GanDelf, and Yolo conferred elsewhere, Adam, Guy, and Tony tried to finish off the orcs. Guy offered them safe passage if they surrendered, but the orcs didn’t believe him, so instead they clashed their weapons, the sparks set fire to the grease, and they burned up. The Fellowgroup took some time to rest and recover from their injuries, GanDelf got depressed and spiralled until Tyler talked her out of it, Yolo wondered if he could ever repair his friendship with Frodo, and Adam gained even more shadow when he shared his plan to retaliate against his daddy. The Fellowgroup fought a band of orcs that had escaped the battle at Helm’s Deep. Adam and Tony pushed boulders toward the orcs, but when they tried to barrel down the hill themselves, Adam slipped on GanDelf’s greasy ground. Guy then tried to slide down the hill on his shield while shooting arrows, but lost his aim and hit Adam. Tyler, meanwhile, went after Yolo, and spotted Frodo trying to sneak up on the ringbearer. The disturbed hobbit fled, and GanDelf joined them, leaving the others to handle the orcs. Adam managed to recover and slice up an orc, but can he, Guy, and Tony Dumdum really take care of the rest of the enemies alone? The Fellowgroup decided to take Sir Christopher Lee’s advice and head to Minas Tirith in search of the portals to the other fictional realms they sought. Adam and Tony scoot-raced down the tower, GanDelf and Yolo got drunk, and Guy tried and failed to get the Ents to carry them to Minas Tirith. The journey proved difficult and, not long after setting out, they ran into a group of orcs. Yolo tried to distract them, but fell in the mud, GanDelf used her magic to grease the ground and trip them up, Adam and Tony Dumdum shoved boulders toward them, and Guy readied his bow. S. Lewis, how Smaug the dragon might be convinced to help them, and how the Sword of Shannara could show Martin the truth of what he was doing. Martin had taken on the role of Sauron, not maliciously, but rather to explore other possible endings for the story. However, when he introduced some of his own creations, he had inadvertently opened a door into the real world. Wet Change tried to impact the story themselves by writing out a scene in which Martin was destroyed, but it didn’t work, they all gained a bunch of shadow for plotting a murder, and they decided to just proceed with the original quest. Tyler took Yolo and Tony Dumdum aside so the rest could have a frank conversation with Sir Christopher Lee and, after chatting for a bit, they realized they were all on the same side. Christopher Lee had extensive knowledge of the true story, but remembered the real-world slightly differently. Guy’s palantir seemed to wake up in the presence of another orb like it, and the famous actor told them that the dark lord had used the device to communicate with Saruman and twist the wizard to his will. The Fellowgroup tied up loose ends before departing for Isengard. GanDelf was advised by Galadriel to try to cure Saruman of his shadow before resorting to fighting, Yolo showed emotional growth as he reflected on how he had treated Frodo, and Guy learned from Arwen that the palantirs were long-range communication devices. They travelled with the Ents to Isengard, and saw signs of heavy industry, but it seemed to be abandoned. When the approached the door of the tower, the wizard Saruman greeted them and revealed that he was Sir Christopher Lee. The Fellowgroup let Frollum escape! Again! So, they split up to search for him. Now more shadowy than ever, Adam began to give in to his greedy impulses, GanDelf helped Guy find his missing sword and they uncovered a survivor in the rubble, and Tyler patiently explained to Yolo how wrong it was to call anyone who joined them the “New” version of someone they’d lost. Accepting they had lost Frollum, the headed to bed. Tyler grew less shadowy as he donated his mattress to the infirmary and Adam kept his shadow when he got weird about Tony sleeping in his chair. The Fellowgroup tried to come up with a way to reach the Frodo within Frollum. GanDelf failed to commune with her echo of Gandalf and had an unsettling vision of Walker. With a day to rest, the Fellowgroup tied up some loose ends. Guy and Arwen shared a pleasant intimate experience, Tyler saw a doctor and got his bleeding under control so he could start to heal, and Galadriel warned Adam that she saw the potential for darkness within him and had brought Tony Dumdum along to help keep it at bay. With the enemies of Rohan scattered into the trees and the Ents at rest for the day, the Fellowgroup was finally able to take somewhat of a break. While Guy and Arwen spent some private quality time together, Tyler was called upon to reassure everyone that everything was okay. The Fellowgroup had to figure out what to do about all the trees that had appeared, especially the one that had just torn an orc in half before their eyes. Guy tried to reason with the tree, Ent actually, called Treebeard, while Adam wisely removed Tony Dumdum from the conversation. Treebeard was eventually swayed by Guy’s impassioned speech, but then he revealed that he had been sent to aide the Fellowgroup and bring them back to Saruman, the wizard who had imprisoned the original Gandalf. While the Ents recuperated, Yolo reminded Tyler that they had left Frodo unconscious within Helm’s Deep. But will the twisted hobbit still be there? As Adam and Guy lay dying, Tyler, GanDelf, and Théoden fought the orcs trying to finish them off, but were interrupted by a loud boom and a dead orc flying into the room. They eventually stabilized their friends with Jimbo bread from Tony Dumdum the White, Guy took up Éowyn’s helm and accepted the duty to inspire everyone, and Théoden came to the realization that Gondor may indeed be fighting back against the dark lord. When they surveyed the battlefield, they saw that a forest had appeared around Helm’s Deep and the remaining enemies were being driven into it. As dawn broke, Galadriel, Tony Dumdum, and the elves of Rivendell arrived at Helm’s Deep to turn the tide of the battle, but the orcs still put up a fight. On the battlefield, GanDelf shattered the ground in the middle of some orcs, frightening them enough to run away as she and Tyler used the distraction to race back into the fortress. Inside, Adam and Guy had less luck and were struck down swiftly by a pair of orcs. Luckily, Théoden prevented the orcs from finishing the job until GanDelf and Tyler could arrive. It was looking like all hope was lost, so Guy raced inside to reach the Horm of Helm Hammerhand. After the horn’s keeper ran out to join the fight, Yolo suddenly appeared and blew the horn himself, though the hobbit was looking worryingly gaunt. Outside, many in Rohan’s army were inspired by the horn and fought harder, but the orcs still managed to blast part of the wall, which sent Adam flying. On the field, Éowyn and Daenerys Targaryen traded killing blows, and Tyler and GanDelf tried to rush back to the wall with Éowyn’s helm, hoping to inspire the archers to continue fighting. After some early success in the battle at Helm’s Deep, the Fellowgroup suffered some setbacks. On the battlefield, Tyler tried to convince the Dothraki to stand down, but they didn’t understand him, and GanDelf spoke inspirational nonsense to Éowyn as she continued to duel the rider. Atop the wall, Guy and archers struggled to hit anything at all, a wave of orcs breached the top, and Adam unintentionally sent the ballista brigade to their ends at the hands of enemies who were actually trained in melee combat. As the battle at Helm’s Deep dragged on, the Fellowgroup found some luck up on the wall. Adam’s ballista operators worked efficiently and got their shots off quickly, while Guy took a risk to fire off flaming arrows at the ladders and destroyed all of them but one. Down on the field, Tyler and Éowyn duelled with Khal Drogo and the dragon rider, striking them, and taking even harder hits in return, but the tide turned when GanDelf spoke inspiring words to Tyler and he dealt a killing blow to the Khal.
