470: When Success Starts to Feel Like Survival with Chanie Wilschanski

B”H Today’s conversation is officially about business leadership, but it’s so much more than that.  It’s about the hidden cost of becoming the person everyone depends on. If you’re trying to keep family life running smoothly — aren’t we all?- then this conversation is for you. Because we are leaders of our homes too. And my guest today knows this well. She looked around at the way so many capable people-herself included- are living and leading, and said: “This can’t be normal.” This became the title of her newly released book This Can’t Be Normal: What to Do When Success Starts to Feel Like Survival.  Chanie Wilschanski is a mom of four, a leadership advisor, speaker, and the founder of Schools of Excellence. She works with leaders who have built successful organizations, with all the right systems, yet somehow still find everything routing back to them. In our conversation, we explore why success can begin to feel unexpectedly heavy, why systems alone don’t solve overwhelm, how to create restorative energy instead of merely protecting it, and what all of this has to do with parenting, marriage, money, and leadership. Here’s Chanie Wilschanski. The post 470: When Success Starts to Feel Like Survival with Chanie Wilschanski appeared first on Yael Trusch.

468: The Sixth Chabad Rebbe’s Radical Bet on Jewish Continuity with Rabbi David Eliezrie

B”H My guest today is Rabbi David Eliezrie, author of the newly released and highly acclaimed book Undaunted: How the Sixth Lubavitcher Rebbe Saved Russian Jewry, Reimagined American Judaism, and Ignited a Global Jewish Renaissance. This is a fascinating conversation that will give you a much deeper appreciation for the sixth Chabad Rebbe’s impact on Judaism as we know it today — from Jewish education, to communal leadership, to the very survival and rebuilding of Jewish life in America and beyond. And as you’ll hear throughout this interview, many of the battles he fought were also financial. You’ll hear many episodes, some of them obscure and unknown. For example, how sixth Chabad Rebbe, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Schneersohn, went out on a financial limb to save what some might have considered “the competition” — one of the most important Torah institutions in America at the time, Yeshivas Torah Vodaath. Rabbi Eliezrie is also the author of the highly popular book The Secret of Chabad, which was recognized by the National Jewish Book Awards. He serves on the board of the Jewish Agency for Israel, has been active in global Jewish affairs for decades, and has served as a Chabad shliach in Yorba Linda, California for over thirty years. And in what felt like a special bonus for my audience, Rabbi Eliezrei also candidly shared some of his own stories of financial struggle, miraculous outcomes, fundraising, risk-taking, and bitachon along the way. You’ll want to listen and internalize his life lessons. Here’s Rabbi David Eliezri. 467: From Survival to Trust with Dr. Salomon Imiak

B”H Join Bitcoin and the Future: Why Jewish History Makes This Technology Impossible to Ignore at yaeltrusch.com/bhforbitcoin and use the code jewishmoneymatters to get 25% off. My guest today, Dr. Salomon Imiak, shares a fascinating and emotional story of resilience. He was born in Havana, Cuba to a Jewish family in 1960, right about the time Fidel Castro had come into power. Today he is a very accomplished anesthesiologist in Hollywood, Florida. But, it took him 30 years to fulfill his dream of becoming a doctor. His story of escaping Cuba and of eventual professional success is not what you might know as the more typical Jewish Cuban American story. Dr. Imiak escaped Cuba in 1985, not to land in Miami to a supportive community, but to face many setbacks and challenges, including of course financial challenges. But, the lessons you will hear from him are priceless. Pay attention to the humility, the mentchlikite, the love of family, of G-d, his Torah, and most outstanding, his perseverance. I think these are lessons our generation and our children’s generation need to hear more of. And above all, notice the role of his dear wife Esther, who I think he might agree is the shining star of this whole interview. And who you will come to love just from hearing about her. Here’s Dr. Salomon Imiak. The post 467: From Survival to Trust with Dr. Salomon Imiak appeared first on Yael Trusch.

465: When Money Isn’t Safe: Bitcoin, History, and Financial Sovereignty with Josh Varon

B”H Claim 25% in the course Bitcoin and the Future: Why Jewish History Makes This Technology Impossible to Ignore at yaeltrusch.com/bhforbitcoin with code jewishmoneymatters. We spend so much time learning how to earn money, how to invest it, how to grow our wealth. But how often do we actually stop and ask: Is my money really mine? And I don’t mean that in a philosophical or spiritual sense. I mean it in a very real, practical way. Because when you start looking at government policies, inflation, and at what’s happened throughout history—especially Jewish history—it kind of forces you to think about money a little differently. That’s what this conversation is really about. Yes, we’re talking about Bitcoin—but not in the way you might be used to hearing about it. This is not a hype conversation. It’s not about jumping on a trend or getting rich quick. We’re talking about something much deeper: money, ownership, and what we can learn from both financial systems and Jewish history about protecting what we have. All with Josh Varon, the founder of BH for Bitcoin—an educational platform where he teaches Bitcoin through both a practical and a Jewish lens. In this episode, Josh breaks down what Bitcoin is in a way that actually makes sense, why he believes the current monetary system is fundamentally flawed, and how thinking about money through the lens of Jewish history can completely shift the way we approach saving and financial security. Whether you’re skeptical, curious, or somewhere in between, this episode is really about understanding—not convincing. And if you want to go deeper, Josh has a great course called Bitcoin and the Future: Why Jewish History Makes This Technology Impossible to Ignore. You can check it out at yaeltrusch.com/bhforbitcoin—and use the code jewishmoneymatters to get 25% off your enrollment.
