This week, Joe catches up with writer Jason Douglas about the Mad Cave Studios / Papercutz release of his originally self-published graphic novel, Jane American, illustrated by Annie Wright.Jane American releases on 1st September from the Papercutz imprint of Mad Cave Studios, and it is available for pre-order now from comic book stores and the book market. This is essential for the success of the book, so please go support it if you're interested!Notably, Jane American recently became the first self-published comic to win the Ringo Award for Best Original Graphic Novel. It is described as a World War II, small town America, rip-roaring adventure and heart breaking coming-of-age tale in the vein of "Superman For All Seasons" and "Archie 1941". It's a deeply researched, personal and emotionally powerful story relatable to everyone, exploring themes of identity, gender, self-worth and small-town societal norms in post-WWII America.I personally enjoyed it and would highly recommend!
