This was a way for Liam to give back to the community that helped him when he was at his lowest facing homelessness and other issues. The community rallied round and helped him back on his feet.

RADIO WOKING WEDNESDAY 26TH AUGUST Following the news of Dolly Parton's Passing I spoked to Sam from Woking about how Dolly and her music has helped and inspired her. We also hear  a message sent from Jennifer in Tennessee who grew up with Dolly who would send her family member  birthday card every year.

RADIO WOKING WEDNESDAY 26 AUGUST New research reveals making friends (19%) is the biggest back to school worry for children aged 4-8 this year. Meeting a new teacher (17%) and not fitting in (17%) are also top of the list of things  troubling them ahead of the new school term.  The research commissioned by The Collective to coincide with the launch of their ‘Big School Letter Swap’, suggests that for young children, the biggest back-to-school anxieties are less about uniforms and school dinners and more about friendships, belonging and navigating unfamiliar people and situations. A further 16% of parents say their child is most concerned about how hard their lessons will be, while 9%  worry about being away from their parent or guardian and  a further 9%  about having less free time once school starts. RADIO WOKING SUNDAY 19TH JULY Three young football fans recently took on an extreme challenge of climbing Mount Snowdon, the tallest mountain in  England and Wales to support Woking and Sam Beare Hospice.  Jax, Antonio and Abel met four years ago when playing football, and saw the connection their beloved Woking FC have with the Hospice. They set out on this challenge and raised nearly £8000 in the process. Antonio Schiavo is fundraising for Woking Hospice

With the end of term upon us Lee reacted to new research from Blue Light Card, suggesting many of us feel teachers deserve more recognition  for what they do and the roles they play in our lives. It seems we only begin to appreciate the impact of teachers after we have left school.
