    Into The Sun

After hydrogen fusion in its core has diminished to the point at which it is no longer in hydrostatic equilibrium, the core of the Sun will experience a marked increase in density and temperature while its outer layers expand to eventually become a red giant. It is calculated that the Sun will become sufficiently large to engulf the current orbits of Mercury and Venus, and render Earth uninhabitable, eventually engulfing it too.

    Dangerous Beast

We've all met one. It broke us and it made us stronger. Enjoy.

    Beautiful Hips

The lyrics for this track were performed by The WNeork. You can find him at his YouTube channel "TheWNeork". I got in touch with him through the Vocalizr website, which I recommend if you need good vocalists for your production. Play it loud and enjoy!

    The Beat Of Your Heart

This track was made without a DAW. All the sounds come from a Waldorf Rocket synthesizer, sequenced with a Korg Electribe music production station and processed, recorded, mixed and mastered on a Zoom R8 multi-track recorder. Enjoy!

    É.O.CM

This track started as a small arrangement trying to model the classic sound of a phased string machine as used by Jean-Michel Jarre. It ended being a homage to him and his influence with cover versions of "Équinoxe I", "Oxygène I" and "IV" and "Les Chants Magnètiques I". I kept the classic sounds of the originals and developed the melodies and chord progressions. The Minipops in "Oxygène IV" comes from a free private sample at http://www.infinitesimal.eu/synth/article86/korg-minipops-7-video-demo-and-sample-pack. The KR55 in "Les Chants Magnètiques I" was made in Caustic. Apart from the drums and the piano in the last section, everything else is made with the Pulverisateur. Enjoy!

    Loudmouth

Usually I'm a synth purist that doesn't use lots of samples. This time I wanted to change that and make samples more integral to the music. I found the grungy bass line loop that opens the track, processed it to sound somewhat vocal and composed the rest around it. There are many more supporting melodic and rhythmic loops interspersed through the piece. Play it loud and enjoy it!

MIDI Sans Frontières (Jordi Moragues remix)

My remix of SQUAREPUSHER's open collaboration project "MIDI Sans Frontières." I used his MIDI files, slightly edited, recreated all the sounds and added subtle effects, an arp and drum sounds. Go to http://www.squarepusher.net if you'd like to create your own remix. Enjoy!

    Endless Fall

After practising with remixes, here's a new original composition. The effect of a sound with endlessly descending pitch is called "Shepard tone". It has been described as a "sonic barber's pole". It sets the mood and provides a background texture for everything else. I hope that you enjoy this one!

Nero - My Eyes (Jordi Moragues Cover)

This is more a cover of "My Eyes" than a remix. I didn't want to alter the form or the instrumentation of the original, but to explore its harmonies and change some chord progressions and melodic lines to try and make them more compelling. I added an extra arp throughout to reinforce the new harmony and changed the key and tempo too. This was also an exercise to improve my production skills. I hope you enjoy this experiment. You can find the original here: https://soundcloud.com/nero/my-eyes

Barely Alive - Welcome To The Real World Ft. Diamond Eyes (Jordi Moragues Remix)

A while ago I found some stems from "Welcome To The Real World" lying around in Audiotool's sample library. I liked the singing and the melody a lot and decided to try my first remix. The only elements remaining from the original track are the vocals and some noise sweeps. The rest is all newly composed and arranged. I hope that you like it! You can find the original here: https://soundcloud.com/barelyalive/welcometotherealworld

    Something Sweet

For this track I wanted to have a real melody as the lead voice instead of the usual short arpeggiated riff. I guess that makes it much more pop than "electronic". I've also tried to apply the production techniques I learned in the last months. The vocoder sounds were created with "Vocalizer" and processed with "Caustic". Additional voice effects are mine. These samples are available for you to use. The lips come from https://www.flickr.com/photos/66833578@N02/6152657879. Have fun listening and I look forward to your feedback!

    On Your Own

Inspired by events connected with my move to a new country in June. I'm using again a classic Verse-Chorus-Bridge structure and experimenting with pseudo-vocal sounds, effects not based in noise, layering of different drum kits, asymmetric stereo delays and creating depth in the mix. Except the percussion, which is sample based, everything else is synthesized. Feedback is always welcome. Enjoy!

  22. 9

    Wear It For Me

This time I went for something more commercial; I followed a traditional Verse-Chorus-Bridge structure and limited the instrumentation to six main voices plus the sound effects. The percussion came first and was the foundation for everything else. Mixing and finishing took by far the most amount of time. Enjoy!

    Synthacaglia

Johann Sebastian Bach meets the Pulverisateur. Arrangement for Passacaglia and Fugue in C minor, BWV 582. I always loved this piece and since his music lends itself so well to synths, I started this draft some years ago when I began with Audiotool. After being abandoned all this time, I decided to finish and publish it. Enjoy! The MIDI file on which the track is based is in the public domain. You can get it here: http://imslp.org/wiki/Passacaglia_for_Organ,_BWV_582_(Bach,_Johann_Sebastian)

    Abrade

Just playing around with the Pulverisateur. I'm using its audio input connector to feed it back to itself and get textures by playing with resonance and filter spacing. The photo shows "Ductile tearing near a fracture surface in polycarbonate" under an electron microscope. Coming Back To You

I had the idea for this track while waiting at an airport during a travel to visit a loved one after a troubled time. The cello part was performed by my friend Anton Peisakhov (www.antonpeisakhov.com) specifically for this piece. I'm grateful for his contribution and I definitely recommend you to check out his work. Thanks also to Infyuthsion (www.audiotool.com/user/infyuthsion) for his great collection of piano samples. The cover photo shows a waiting area at the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata, India. 47 Nights

That's more or less the time that took me to put this track together. I wanted to look for ways of expanding the number of voices in an arrangement to develop a musical idea more fully. Also learn to apply classic electronic music techniques like ostinatos and rhythmical stereo delays. Some elements of the composition are inspired by Arpegiator from Jarre. I hope you enjoy it. The cover image is part of the "Earth at Night 2012" series by NASA. The original can be found at: http://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/NaturalHazards/view.php?id=79790

    Waiting For You

Inspired by the feeling of anticipation before meeting a loved one outside on a rainy day. My first try using sound fx to give a sense of narrative to the music. Also making myself to use more the Heisenberg's PM feature in Audiotool, which still intimidates me a bit. Cover photo by Nick Page. URL: http://www.flickr.com/photos/nicksie2008/6543038247/

  29. 2

    City Sunset

Finally, my second track in Audiotool. I am continuing to experiment with harmonies, trying something jazzier this time. I am also working to improve my skills for structuring a song, programming drums and creating a good mix.

  30. 1

    Harmonisateur

My first track in Audiotool. This was about playing around with harmonies and learning to program different sounds on the pulverisateur. I hope you enjoy it.
