Open and honest conversations on the wins, losses and draws of life and love.

    The Dastardly Scrolling Device

Every parent's nemesis: the smartphone. Is it making our kids smarter? Come to think of it, what a genius marketing idea labeling it a "smart" phone. We think it's making our kids dumber indeed. Well, at least dumber in the human sense. Scary stats: 4 hours a day of scrolling equals to 60 days of your per year. What can, should we do about this as parents? ALL answers welcome! Just don't swipe upwards when it comes to our pod, though, okay?

  2. 147

Gas Price and How to Build a Million Dollar Booty

A bit of a Ceko golf update and Josh admitting that he's a card carrying member of the Impulsive Dads Who Care Too Much Anonymous group. Jo says he's simply a good dad. Then we move on to giving our take on the economy. Why? Because we talk about what affects us on the daily. It's important because it shapes who we are and how we are to others around us. BONUS: Tips from Josh on financial responsible practices. Listen and follow and become a millionaire!

  3. 146

Death of the Third Place - Get Out There, People!

First things first --- Josh is asking if 1 pint of ice cream equals one serving (because he just ate half of a pint and wondered about keeping his girly figure (haha)! Let us know what you think! In this episode: a bit of exciting update on Ceko's big championship win; and, the DEATH of the Third Plyace. 1st place is your home. 2nd is your workplace. 3rd are the cafes, bookstores, bars, and neighborhood hangouts. Why are we letting ourselves live this way? Between streaming services, instas, snaps, reels and all the gross in betweens, is it time we move away from all these gadgets and party like its 1989 again? Among other humans, rub skin to skin, and smell each other's breath again? Should we force our kids and loved ones to live LIFE? We say, "Yes, please!"

  4. 145

    Men Seeking Older Women Alert!

According to dating app managers, there's been an uptick of young men EXCLUSIVELY looking for older women to date. Specifically, men in their late 20s through 30s have felt the anxiety and financial burden women in the same age group are demanding. So many questions! Have women pigeon holed themselves and may also date older women? Are middle aged women loving this? Is this just a momentary trend? We know age is just a number but there are biological, procreation-ary, evolutionary, and cultural shifts happening here! Your toughts?

  5. 144

DUIs, Tigers, Draft Kings, Oh My!

Unless you live under a rock, you've heard about Tiger's most recent driving mishap. 8 hours in the drunk tank (allegedly) was hopefully time used to think about how much he values his life and the life of others around him when he's behind the wheel of a car. Let's get it together, Tiger! So many folks root for you. Okay, forget about everyone else, you've got kids who look up to you. Here's to hoping for the best for him in his future... for his children's sake. This can't feel good... Speaking of vices, um, Josh and Jo talk about Draft Kings and betting.

  6. 143

Seasonal Affective Depression at its "Peak"y

(background muzak "here comes the sun," Please!!)We're all sick of it. Winterbirds, skiers, mountaineers, whatever, even THEY are over it. It's been a long icy, rough, and too much time stream video binging. We're all ready to put on the bikinis and speedos and get some sunshine!  What do you do to beatthis?  Watch Peaky Blinders and rank who the hottest and craziest girlfriend is? Well, that's just what we did! What are YOUR plans when the temp gets hotter? We know ours!

  7. 142

Relationship Maintenance and, by the way, Jo is Grudgey

Beyond the sexy stuff in the bedroom, what are the ways both or throuples or quads maintain a strong bond emotionally and mentally? It's a lot of necessary work! However, if you've found your match, it is worth it. Josh and Jo found common ground in saying that GROWTH is key. It doesn't have to be at the same time or the same pace, but all sides have to try. POD CONFESSION! Jo, as much as she tries not to be and is working on it, holds grudges longer than she needs. Hurt or trauma-based, it doesn't matter. She admits as much and is intent on working on getting rid of this nasty and nonproductive thang she does. Enjoy this as much as we enjoyed recording!

  8. 141

A Hard No From Josh on a Couples Communication Style

The stylistics of a YouTuber couple is driving Josh absolutely nuts! I mean, it's really pissing him off! Go to "at" relationships withaly on YouTube and check it out for yourself. Jo doesn't buy it. If I ever meet a couple that speaks to each other like this, I would be running for the hills. So why do some think it's "healthy," or "admirable?" We supposed it's better than throwing plates at each other (or is it?). What do you think?

  9. 140

Dumb Things People Say and a Lotta Banter

Speedos or trunks? Find out what Josh wears when wading in the water... And, a pet peeve of Jo's - why oh why do people say things in public and then run away from the consequences? While it's untimely (due to our engineer getting sick again), we do talk about the world famous Saratoga Springs Chowderfest prep... yes. It's World Famous because in our world, it just is. Stay warm everyone!

  10. 139

Super Bowl Halftime Show - A Boom or Bust?

Lots of emotions here about the overly-talked about Super Bowl half time show. Upon reflection, Jo is reacting with intense emotion while Josh takes a practical approach. Jo's feelings about it may be controversial but hear her out! All in all, have any halftime shows been amazing? Let us know your thoughts!

  11. 138

    POWER Dynamics in Relationships

Josh and Jo can't believe this has not been covered in depth! Power. Dynamics. Relationships. It's so basic yet so complicated. How important is this? Should one person have more or less at all times? Sometimes? Then there's AI relationships. It's happening folks! Are we for it or against it? AAAHHH! so much to deal with to have a lil' company and warm body around. Jo says it's worth working through if you really care about another human. And, of course, it's worth moving to greener pastures if your mate wants all the power. So, grab a cup of cocoa or some wine, enjoy and stay warm and cozy!

  12. 137

Fun Fun Fun With Flight Attendants as Guests

Once in a while we bring on our favorite listeners. Well, folks, this was a FUN one! Joining Josh and Jo are 3 professional ladies who are flight attendants for a private company. They share what they do in-flight (is it gourmet meals or fast food?), what they do in between flights, how passengers treat them and some of the most annoying and crazy experiences. And, of course, Josh and Jo have no problem asking them naughty questions. BUT WAIT! In the second half of this pod, the tables turned and we became the interviewed! Sweating just a little, we got through their questions as thoughtful as we always try to be. So, grab a cup of tea, get under a comfy blanket and enjoy this one during this snowstorm! Hugs and kisses to these ladies. IT WAS FUN!!!!!!

  13. 136

Greenland, ICE, and Other HOT Topics

Josh and Jo engage in a candid discussion about current events, particularly focusing on the political climate surrounding law enforcement and protests. They reflect on personal experiences, societal issues, and the influence of media on public perception. The conversation also touches on the controversial proposal regarding Greenland and its implications, as well as broader themes of human behavior and societal dynamics. As thoughtful humans, Josh and Jo feel that, sometimes, we can't NOT pod about this...

  14. 135

    Answering YOUR Questions!

Our hot takes in response to questions from our listeners. So, as the years go by, we'd like to know if you think we are we getting smarter, less smart, or wiser? Bring it on!

  15. 134

    It's a New Year's Episode! Cheers to incoming 2026!

Josh and Jo talk about the highlight of Ceko's tourney in NC... find out how he placed out of 170 18 and under! Highlights, lowlights, and overall thoughts on how 2025 went and what we're changing up or not changing in 2026. Thank you to all our loyal listeners! Here's to a kick butt 2026!

  16. 133

Josh and Jo / Ceko Sezz Podcast Mash Up

What a fun mash up of Ceko Sezz and Josh and Jo Podcasts! This was so much fun... Ceko and his dad in North Carolina for a big tourney and Jo in New York braving the cold. It's all about their favorite moments traveling together, how they prepared to golf in 37 degree weather, and just lots of questions from Jo about what happens inside a the head of a young but very accomplished golfer. We hope you have as much fun listening as we had recording! Happy New Year, everyone! Thank you for listening!

  17. 132

    Merry Christmas Eve Episode!

A Happy Christmas to all our listeners! Nearly wrapping up the 2025 with a little football speak (go Jo!), silly questions, a few Breaking News alerts and well wishes for each other and everyone. Be safe and be jolly! -- Love, Josh and Jo!

  18. 131

Snow Episode on Aging Alone or With Company?

In this episode of the Josh and Joe podcast, hosts Jovita Wenner and Joe discuss various themes surrounding aging, relationships, and personal reflections. They share their thoughts on the impact of loneliness in older age, the importance of community, and the value of family connections. The conversation also touches on skiing adventures, cultural perspectives on aging, and the legacy one leaves behind. Through personal anecdotes and insights, they explore how to build meaningful relationships and connections as they navigate their own aging process.

  19. 130

    Reflecting Rejection

The gig is up. It's Jo's achilles heel, her nightmare, her trauma, and nemesis. The depths of this only came to her consciousness after the last several pods. She decided to take this head on and talk about it. As for Josh, well, he balances out Jo's experience by going through life without too much experience with the R word. HHmmpphh. A few can be so lucky! Despite their differing experiences, they both turned out, well, relatively okay :-).

  20. 129

    The Ex Files Episode

Take a listen to hear how Josh and Jo treat their EXes, what they do, what they don't do, how they treat the ex, and how they move on. What's YOUR style?

  21. 128

    HeLL-icopter Parenting?

Top 3 favorite topic: our children and parenting in this age of social media, craziness, and all the other landmines. Have we been good parents by not being helicopter parents or should we buy ourselves some aircraft gear and become one? Helicopter parents get a bad rap but is it really bad?

  22. 127

Marathon Pod Part Trois! And, Sex in your teens, 20s, 30s and beyond

We're still going! We compare and contrast what sex meant to us, how it was, and was it any good? in our teens, 20s, 30s, and beyond (far beyond in our case!). Would we do anything different? What do we miss most about those early emotions? What would we have liked more? Come take a journey through time with us and let us know if it was the same or not for you!

  23. 126

The Faux Gag Revisited... And Is Emotional Cheating

Since we didn't forewarn our audience, it's worth mentioning that in the previous episode, "faux gag," was introduced. So if you missed it... REWIND! Big topic for Jo -- emotional cheating. She says, "It's so real." Josh surprises her and has a less harsh take than she thought. Not a fan of the overuse of the word "cheating," but it it's clear that it comes in many forms, it hurts people, and unfortunately all to common.

  24. 125

Halloween episode-ish! And a Seggxiting Lightning Round!

As we prepare for Halloween 2025, we talk clowns, spiders and fears! Then, true to form we transition to fun and sexy Q and As... there's some zingers here, folks, so have fun! And Happy Halloween!

  25. 124

Ceko update, Fan Misbehavior, and WHY DO WE STAY?!

First, Josh's favorite topic: Ceko update! Followed by a discussion poor fan behavior ending in beer cans in the air. And, about a question that haunts Jo daily: WHY DO WE STAY?! Josh was on a roll answering this question. The 80% clean eating has resulted in crystal clear thinking out of Josh. Jo's taking notes.

  26. 123

Legendary Sexy Moments and Hot Tubs

Enough with the politics and true to their humor and fascination with all things relationships... In semi rapid fire form, Jo asks questions about se*-sions, places it's done and positions. Because? Why not. These may work for you or may not. Regardless, it's a beautiful day for a good laugh and light-hearted entertainment!

  27. 122

    Confessions Of Hotel Escapades

Hotels... Airbnbs... do they get you in the mood for naughty behavior? And lots of other discussion topics for our listener travelers! Bon voyage!

  28. 121

    Let Them Eat Cancel Culture!

Okay, that only marginally makes sense... just like this topic. From our perspective, the cancel culture is overdone, overbaked, and everything else in between. As bona fide members of the broadcasting industry (haha), we believe we have a dog in this fight. You may be surprised that Jo is not a fan of Jimmy Kimmel getting canceled. It's not just about her law degree and taking the oath to support and defend the Constitution, it's about always wanting to let the other side speak. Josh agrees and we both draw the line at yelling "Fire!" in a crowded room. And Josh's current temperature leaning away from the liberal stuff just goes to show that there IS room for conversation in the middle. Perhaps that's the real message here. What do you think? And, oh, this boring stuff goes away for our next several pods. We need levity and we shall deliver!

  29. 120

    Let Them Theory Debunked?

Mel, we're sorry not sorry. Jo was pretty all in with the Let Go theory and was a Mel-iever... until Josh peeled off a layer of the onion and called it passive aggressive. Big head THUMP on the table. Hear out Josh. He listened, researched and though not an expert, he makes a good case for NOT letting go. But can we sell 6 million copies of a book about it? Probably not.

  30. 119

Woke Too Far or Not Far Enough?

Once in a while we discuss topics that touch on all of it - culture, politics, trends, important to some, not important to others. Some of this may be viewed as controversial beyond the fact that - NEWSFLASH: Josh and Jo DO NOT always get along or see eye to eye (not, it's not about our 4 feet of height difference!). Through this pod discussing topics that are sensitive to some, we prove that we can sit in the same room, discuss, listen, hear each other out, disagree, agree, and decide to learn more from others. Differing opinions does not mean you can't be friends. Josh and Jo are serious testaments and illustrate that if we respect ourselves, other humans and treat folks with openness, kindness, humility, and grace, that being friends at the end of the day is THE MOST important thing. We certainly feel that way about each other and we wish that for more people in this world.

  31. 118

Golf dad, golf life! And Random Answers

As Josh's whirlwind golf summer with Ceko comes to a close, this episode gives you the inside scoop into his world as Jo asks him sneaky questions that bridges silliness with realities of life. Happy almost end of summer, folks. Enjoy the daylight during the evening hours as much as you can!

  32. 117

UberSpecial Guest and... the One and Only Kitty!

Wait for it.... who's our most precious guest EVER? You'll have to listen. You'd know if you opened up recent newspaper because he's a local celebrity! And, PRICELESS moments with Kitty. We love you, Kitty! And, there's more! Emotional wallets (what to keep and when to pull it out) and lightning round questions that simply, and always, end up being another Pod topic because, well, theyr'e all important! Happy August, everyone. Thank you for sharing these moments with us!

  33. 116

    The 14-Year-Old Me

Josh and Jo explore what they would say to their 14-year-old self. Ceko at the age of 14 is very different than 14-year-old Josh and Jo. Now that they're on the other side of half a century, they ask, "what would we have done differently?" Some are fun, some are serious and, as always, we are honest about our mistakes and quest for human improvement via our own children... What would YOU tell yourself? Let us know!

  34. 115

Answering Questions About Romance and Life Itself

We're no experts but we play one on podcasts! Josh and Jo answer questions about romance and life and share their own experiences which we hope you find insightful. We're still just figuring it out but we've come a long way baby!

  35. 114

    Growth is Hard Work

Growing personally, physically, emotionally, and all the rest is HARD WORK! It takes desire, patience, time, energy... and it's all worth it. How have you grown in your own life? Do share as we do in this episode. Watching Ceko grow several inches this past year and also into an athlete with a specific goal has been enriching and it made Jo feel introspective, hence, pushing this conversation out into the world. Let's grow together. It's worth it.

  36. 113

    The Art of the Apology

Josh and Jo apologize that out of the hundreds of topics they have addressed, this one never really came up. Looking through archives now to confirm! Well, none exactly like this one. Apologizing, good; disingenuous ones, bad. What's your apology style? Let us know!

  37. 112

Perineum Sunning and Other Libido Glow Ups

How do we know it works? We're talking about healthy habits to help increase your libido. It's responsible, it makes sense and it could be fun so give it a try!

  38. 111

He Married Me Then Ran Away With My Cousin

Whatttt?! Okay, that's Jo's knee jerk reaction to a supposedly a true story Jo read in an article. Josh's reaction is to be expected as he always roots for people finding true connection and wishes for the universe to just accept it for what it is. That's nice, Josh, but Jo has a BIG problem with a person who dates that same person's relative. It feels like a betrayal, she says. Beyond that, Jo has a bigger problem - the process. C'mon, man! Why not just fess up that you've fallen out of love and exit clean? What are YOUR thoughts on this?

  39. 110

I Said I Love You, Now Don't Be a Turd!

Josh in his element discussing the benefits, pitfalls, and the beautifulness of saying the words, "I Love You." Jo is buying into his definition and reasons for saying those words. Are you the kind that says it too fast in a romantic relationship? Do you wait until the other person says it? Have you ever regretted saying or not saying those three words? Come and explore our thoughts with us. We promise a good time!

  40. 109

Pet Peeves in the Sex Arena

Back by popular demand, women share their pet peeves in the sexual milieu. Apparently, there's a lot! And, a bonus never-before-heard Josh experience that warranted introspection and inspection. Was it a prevention strategy or simply a preference? What say you?!

  41. 108

    It's the Pet Peeves Episodes!

Josh and Jo reveal what gets under their skins, the go-no go habits we assess, and points of no return when faced with OMG moments with prospects. And, yikes, it gets a little graphic in the middle of this pod (for us to say that is surprising so it MUST be!), but of course, it's always somewhat balanced and funny. Enjoy it on this rainy weekend!

  42. 107

Flirty or Standoffish on a Date?

Josh and Jo tackle questions on how to set boundaries on dates. The question asked is how to have the upfront conversation on sex and expectations in a way that keeps things light and clear. Josh's take is consistent and Jo's may surprise you a little. A little bonus, too, from Jo who had an experience with the guy setting boundaries on the first date... hmmm... can you guess why?

  43. 106

    Tackling Listenership Questions

In this episode, Josh and Jo tackle questions gathered from our listeners. From issues with connecting with a partner to how to deal with a jealous boyfriend... we have answers for you to ponder! Keep those questions coming! We're here.

  44. 105

    The Philosophy of Friendships

A little bitty on Ceko because we were fresh from a Ceko Sezz pod recording. Then Josh and Jo revisit his views on the importance of keeping your friend circle small and tight. The "why" is an important discussion point. This topic will most likely have a part 2... or not...

  45. 104

    The PODdest of Them All!

In our thirst for knowledge and exploration for different views, resident podsters named Josh and Jo go over their favorite podcasts which consumes their free and multi-tasking moments. Try some of these recommendations, and perhaps gain deeper knowledge and understanding of topics we care about.

  46. 103

    The Travel Episode

Where have Josh and Jo been?! We highlight the most fun, the best destinations, the most exotic cities and countries... it's our version of Where's Waldo! Also a little bit on our ongoing quest to connect with our parents as we work against a generational thing and a vastly different form of communication. With a little bit of grace and more patience, perhaps one day we will bridge the gap. So, I'm going to take this opportunity to give a shout out to our parents: WE LOVE YOU!

  47. 102

    Ribbed, Twisted, Condoms, Oh My!

In the world of condoms, none are lesser experts. It's simple,, it's plastic... some are made of organic material (we really don't care to dive into THAT)... and yet so many confusing choices can be found on the shelves. Jo said, "Safety first, that's what I care about. " Josh has gone shoppin'. How do we know this? Because I got a text with a pic of Magnums just a few hours ago. As always, we hope you enjoy and thanks for listening!

  48. 101

    A Hard On for AI

It's all about Artificial Intelligence! Josh doesn't get to excited about much, but boy has AI been at the top of his list! Jo is naturally prevention-minded and has hesitations but will quickly get over it after this conversation. Much like social media, Uber, Door Dash and other apps, AI is very much part of our lives. Take a tour of this topic with Josh, our resident AI expert and let us know what you think! And if you listen all the way through, Josh has a compelling, emotional bit about why AI can't replace certain things life...

  49. 100

    A How To On Intimacy

Intimacy is fun. It requires exploration, building, confidence, trust, out-of-the-box thinking, vulnerability, sharing, and could be loads of fun. Try it with Josh and Jo!

  50. 99

    Sexual Communication 101

It's so basic but so important. We both stress the importance of consent at all levels. Take a listen as Josh navigates raising a teenager while Jo says, "Thank god I survived and over that phase..." Between two people who are in an intimate relationship, it is important to be open when you get to the trust phase. That and a whole much more on this topic... so thank you for listening!
