S^3 ~ Evangelical vs Progressive Christianity
Another episode of Saint Joe Sermon Survey, where we survey sermons in Saint Joseph, MO. This episode compares Grace Calvary Chapel and First Christian Church, respectively representing evangelical and progressive understandings of Christianity. The pastors of these churches have been engaged in public dialogue over the last several months, and so here we provide a resource looking into their world-views which though sharing the same name (Christian) are fundamentally different. Along with listening to and commenting on their sermons, each pastor provided a brief statement of faith to supplement their positions which we have linked below. We hope that this episode provides clarity to the convictions of not only these two men but also these two belief systems lying underneath the current dialogue. https://ourjbc.org/statements-of-faith--blevins-and-kirk
