Mark Christopher assaults JR a second time. Kristin's grandmother, Betsy Haig tries to interfere in Kristin and JR's marriage. The Scchaeffer Report is released to Texas Tech Law Schooll and the Lubbock County Bar Association in hopes of disbarring Mark Christopher. Dean Jack Robertson is forced to transfer Stella out of the Law School and to release the Schaeffer Report to the media and the public, as Jim swings into protective mode. Kristin goes to DFW with her aunt and grandmother, and JR goes there also for a business conference. Jim has a bug put in the Hendrick townhouse by chance to see if Mark Christopher sneaks in.

Mark Christopher wheedles his way back into the Hendrick townhouse despite the warnings of Congressional candidate Dr. Andrew Harmon. Kristin feels torn between her marriage to JR and her friendship with Stella. Mark Christopher joins with Stella to blackmail Kristin to ruin her music career. Jim begins a tactical and Conggressional crusade to cripple Mark Christopher.

September 3, 1998 JR Hendrick calls on the Ruan Chase Show to talk about a spearheaded legislation by his father to amend the Sherman Antitrust Act. But JR is called upon by Gen X talk show host Ryan Chase to also give insights and tidbits on his battle with Professor Mark Christopher and the impending release of the report of Professor Robert Schaefer.

Kate Christopher testifies before the Schaeffer commission, Mark plots with Stella to drag JR to an unwanted eye doctor visit and tries to manipulate the food at the townhouse. JR testifies against Mark before the Schaeffer commission, but Mark tries to turn around by steaming a consulting deal between himself, JR and Kristen.

Volunteers give information about Mark’s pass to JR, but at the same time plotting with Kristen behind his back. Andrew Harmon throws Christopher a bone to getting back on the campaign trail and out of the Hendrick townhouse as it gives a statement to the press.. Jim and Betsy’s marriage begins to take its toll over Kyle in his role at the ranch

Flashback, March 1976. Betsy and her best friend Fern are going out on the night of clubbing and partying with six-year-old JR when suddenly the car breaks down and JR gets very ill.. true to form warning to end the separation between him and Betsy, Jim steps in as father and husband to rescue them both from a night, a disaster

August 18, 1998 JR Hendrick comes on the Ryan Chase show to talk about the investigations of Mark Christopher by the Schaeffer commission and where see in his advisor and mentor is a liar and a con artist trying to persecute his family over a 10 1/2 year-old

Mark Christopher gives a peace offering to Kristen and raise as hell at the same time. The Schaeffer commission catch marked line under oath in his testimony, and JR opens up to Mike Fields about his struggle.

JR continues to fall under the trance of Mark and Stella‘s flower power until Christian intervenes. Jim finds out and demand that JR get rid of the flower medication materials out of his townhouse, and I prepared his first peace offering for JR.

JR is depressed because of the departure of his best friend Kent to work for Dr Pepper in Odessa and Jim takes advantage of the opportunity by pulling strings in Washington to get ready to have JR removed to Utah.. Stella moves into the townhouse, Mark Christopher threaten JR with a political scandal as Kristen’s grandmother threatens to tell her father . Jim and Betsy used that political powers to try to get the state to force the wall school to work towards getting more Christopher despaired.

JR is offered a field trip to Odessa to do some mediation, but between Jim Bob Horton and his in-laws Kristen considers canceling the trip until Dave Smith and Jim intervene . With Kristen having confessed to having a fling with Mark Christopher, he continues to harrass her at the townhouse. JR goes to work with the Texas Tech Liason to the Department of Commerce under the direction of Deputy Secretary Bill Maher. Betsy Haig continues to plot against JR and Stella gives JR and Kristen information about Mark Christopher on tape.

JR and Kristen go on Spring Break with Ken to Austin and Dallas. Mark Christopher feeds information to Kristen's mother as Jim goes into protective mode. Mark Christopher discovers that his Dallas Bar account has been hacked. Kristen's grandmother falls I'll, and Jim steers JR away from reporting to Jim Bob Horton in Odessa because he sees a trap by Mark Christopher and his PI.

A frantic Christian breaks the door to their condo when it’s locked in the keys not working anymore, Mark Chris uses that to feed information to Kristen‘s mother who turns against JR. Christine finds out from Eli Clark that David is going to marry Jean and go to Harvard.. betsy begins to see that punishing Jim is the wrong idea
