Episode 4: Sitting Down with Hawa Amin-Arsala

Hi, I recorded this episode with Hawa almost two months ago while I was staying in New York City. I am finally able to release it into the world. So much has changed since then but this conversation with my dear friend still offers so much. It's slow, warm, and resonant. Hawa feels like a golden hour, a slice of cake topped with floral decoration, and a friend who's shoulder would offer immense comfort in on a long + twisty drive. I hope you enjoy this episode and that you've been well.  All my love, Negine

In this episode, we reflect on the past year while bringing up some of our favorite things like: the book Women Who Run With the Wolves by Clarissa Pinkola Estés, the hot girl walk, high vibrations, and the ability to love our bodies fiercely. The song "Dead To Me" by Kali Uchis is really about us killing the voices in our heads that have the audacity to think we're not good enough to live however we feel like living.  @neginejasmine @theronalisa [email protected] Support this podcast with a small monthly donation to help sustain future episodes: https://anchor.fm/negine-jasmine

Happy Valentine’s Day. ❤️ This episode is all about love. What does healthy love look like? What can love and heartbreak teach us about ourselves and others? Throughout our lives, as our mothers’ daughters, we were taught by example the boundlessness of love. Whether you’re a caterpillar or butterfly, we all deserve healthy love in all stages of our lives. @neginejasmine @theronalisa [email protected] Support this podcast with a small monthly donation to help sustain future episodes: https://anchor.fm/negine-jasmine

Episode 10: On Being Softer to Oneself with Mitra Jouhari

To celebrate our tenth episode, we (virtually) sat down with the indomitable and iconic Mitra Jouhari. Comedian, writer, performer, ceramicist and organizer—she is the shining example of a talented woman who transcends labels and boxes. In the conversation, we discuss slowing down during the pandemic, the traps of productivity culture, ceramics as meditation, organizing PPP kits for the unhoused community, asking for what you want, and speaking your will into the universe. Episode 9: Little Obsessions

Every day we wake up and do our silly little tasks while daydreaming about our silly little obsessions. Photography, plants, records, makeup, crushes…this episode is a shrine to shrines. The worlds we build in our heads and how they steep us into the present, fill us with life, and the sword’s other edge—reeling us out of our reality and sucking our attention up like vampiric social media fiends. Mentioned in the pod: Little Weirds by Jenny Slate, How to Do Nothing: Resisting the Attention Economy by Jenny Odell, Luster by Raven Leilani. @neginejasmine @theronalisa [email protected] Support this podcast with a small monthly donation to help sustain future episodes: https://anchor.fm/negine-jasmine

We each recorded snippets from our day-to-days and merged them together for this conversation centered on celebration. Listening is an essential foundation to collective care. And when we listen to nature, we listen to each other. @neginejasmine @theronalisa [email protected]

Episode 6: Home Is Where I Want to Be

For many young Afghan girls, leaving the house and striving for independence is not as simple as the western practice of turning 18 and doing whatever you want. In this episode, we ruminate and reflect on how it feels to carve out space for ourselves when the generational script for us guilts and shames us otherwise. Home is fluid and ever-changing but somehow feels permanent in the heart and soul.  Thank you Joshua Hill from The Hill in Mind for creating the lovely tunes played throughout the episode!
