My name is Calvin James Trudeau, and I am a staff writer and editor for El Paisano Media studying at Rio Hondo College.Our staff was in attendance the 2026 Journalism Association of Community Colleges (JACC) State Conference and Competition in San Fransisco, California. I competed in several competitions, with an on-the-spot audio news story being one of them. This podcast contains that entry and the story behind it.Held jointly with the Associated College Press Spring National College Media Conference, JACC featured notable keynote speakers along with broadcast, mail-in, and on-the-spot competitions. For my own entry, its story highlights the gap in lived experience between those with housing and those without.
