Greg presented a GIFT (great ideas for teaching/training) session on Web 2.0 Applications at an international conference. The unique format of the sessions(multiple condensed 8 minute presentations repeated for changing audiences) offers an idea for teaching in itself, and posting the "same" content multiple times allows us to critique his presentation and see how it evolved. In this episode we interview Tasha Haas and learn about her recent trip to the Association of Writing Programs Conference in NY, where networked with professionals in creative writing. We discuss applications for the composition classroom and what she learned.

Judy is using Tegrity to video cast lectures to an on ground class that meets face to face. Using solid pedagogy and cutting edge technology she's had dramatic sucess despite initial concerns from her students. She's covering more content online and making class time more student centered and active. Lectures are shorter and more efficent, classes are more fun and test scores have gone up.

In this episode we interview Dr. Gregg Ventello, who presented a symposium on Race, Terrorism and Black Resistance. Gregg gives us a brief summary of his paper, and talks briefly about how and why he got interested in the topic, why it's relevant, and what America's rich and turbulent racial heritage can teach us.
