EPISODE 12: MIDSOMMAR
Send us Fan MailTo celebrate our recent Summer Solstice festivities here in Britain on the 21st June, Kim and Em quite fittingly discuss all things MIDSOMMAR including why fans and critics were so divided about the movie, who the true villains really are (Christian, Dani or the Haga?!) as well as pubic hair pies (yum) and menstrual love potions (very effective clearly) Do we love or loathe the film? Who cares, lets get on with those awkward as arse orgies, viking death penalties and, yes, pubic hair pie......Support the show

EPISODE 11: HOUSE
Send us Fan MailIntroducing Kim & Em's forgotten movie GEMS! There are certain films in our lives (horror in our case) that burnt their gory glory and dreamlike atmosphere onto our retinas and while they may not be worthy of the critics thumbs up - we love them anyway for how they made us feel. The nostalgia flicks! The unsung underated heros of our formative years. We love these quirky films and one of us gets to choose a favourite weirdo movie from our past to revisit. This week it's Booth's turn and she chooses HOUSE which she remembers renting from the video store time and time again. But is it just a light frothy fun ghoulish 80's horror - or does it go deeper then we all thought. The answer is yes it does - find out in this fun nostalgic trip back in to the world of Steve Miners 1985 (now) cult favourite HOUSE.Support the show

Rosemary's Baby is a key film in cinema history for many reasons real, fictional, and in terms of legacy and cultural impact. EPISODE 9: THE UGLY STEPSISTER & THE NEON DEMON
Send us Fan MailJust like fame, beauty costs. And here's where you start paying! Kim and Em are fascinated with the recent slew of Beauty Horror gracing our screens, often (but not always) directed by women seeking to reflect, comment on, and rebel against unattainable beauty standards. These are standards which are increasingly becoming the normal way to achieve validation as well as financial success. Kinda depressing right?! But is this a new thing? Kim and Em delve into the historical roots of the pursuit of perfection citing key films The Ugly Stepsister (2025) and The Neon Demon (2016) as they attempt to spotlight the villains, get to grips with the evil that makes the characters do what they do, and show how this raises a mirror to our own lives. And it wouldn't be Kim & Em vs EVIL without some brutally frank and unapologetically feminist banter! Live Learn Laugh Like Subscribe and all that jazz xoxoSupport the show

EPISODE 8: THE BEAUTY
Send us Fan MailInspired by Ryan Murphy's recent hot! hot! hot! series,The Beauty, Booth and Taylor-Foster discuss the emergence of a nascent subgenre in Horror. The subgenre in question? The aptly named 'Beauty Horror'. That's what we're calling it for now, at least. Our obsession with youth and beauty might not be new, and neither is its exploration on the screen, but we've certainly seen a surge in horror movies over the past few years positioning the topic front and centre. Nicolas Winding Refn's stylish 2016 shockerThe Neon Demon, Coralie Fargeat's decorated The Substance from 2024, last year's stunningly grotesque debut from new Norwegian talent Emilie Blichfeldt, The Ugly Stepsister, and now, of course, The Beauty. But why now? The ladies ride the somewhat slippery slope of gender politics, feminism, and beauty standards in an attempt to provide a meaty, visceral, honest, and intriguing look into our love/ hate relationship with beauty and how it has shaped cinematic history. Expect the usual highly intelligent conversation splattered with ridiculous humour – you'll find out exactly why Booth just loves the word MULCH. Support the show

EPISODE 4: FRIDAY THE 13TH
Send us Fan MailSlicing and dicing is the order of the day as our intrepid duo Kim & Em take a gory summer-vacay sojourn to Camp Blood to interrogate villainy in the original Friday the 13th. Tackling teenage sex and slasher movie no-nos, this finger-wagging horror movie helped cement the rules for "Don't" flicks and the stalk and slash pic, and Kim & Em take a dive into Crystal Lake to rummage around at the bottom for what – about an hour? – dredging the sludgy fare that birthed a horror movie icon in Jason Voorhees. But, as everyone knows, he wasn't the OG source of evil in the franchise. Emily and Kim look at monstrous mothers, "murky" morals, and more as they discuss this classic that spawned – to date – TEN sequels and a reboot. Don't go outside – and DON'T listen to this podcast!Support the show

Send us Fan MailA slice of cut-throat (literally) Hollywood controversy as Emily and Kim go back to 1987 – a time of big hair, big thrills ,and big-time erotic thrillers! But were the sexual politics of the 80s questionable at best? Expect more buttock thrusts than Michael Douglas in sex rehab as we shine a light into those lovelorn eyes of Alex Forest to reveal her character as quite the victim of the the times in the wake of the feminist backlash of 1980s America. Yes, we love Alex as the complex villain/victim she became – which is why we want you to give her another chance...Support the show

EPISODE 1: JAWS
Send us Fan MailEmily and Kim take a deep dive into the depths of one of the scariest horror movies of all time, Jaws. Emily has always felt sorry for the shark. Kim's not so sure. But could the real source of evil come in the shape of something land-based and two-legged (aka human), or from somewhere not even human or aquatic at all...?Support the show
