Make America Grateful Again (Global Circle Chant Mix)

In the fall of 2025, a circle of musicians from every corner of the globe converged on a quiet town in rural America. Drawn together by a shared longing for connection and healing, they formed an unlikely collective they named Artists of the Pantheon—a nod to the great hall of voices and stories that shaped them. Over several luminous weeks, they wrote, played, improvised, and recorded side by side, blending their traditions, rhythms, languages, and instruments into something wholly new. From folk harmonies to gospel blues, from world-beat chants to cyber-edm experiments, their sessions became a living conversation—an offering of gratitude in a fractured time. On Thanksgiving Day, they released the result of that collaboration: an EP titled Make America Grateful Again, a collection of songs meant not as a slogan but as an invitation—to listen, to honor one another, and to rediscover the small mercies that bind us together.

    Whistle Pig On Fire

A Song About A Farmer and Vermin Eradication [Verse 1 — The Drought] That summer the sky went empty, Dust sleeping where the crops should be. Neighbors said, “Ain’t nothin’ growing,” But the stubborn’s strong in me. So I planted a garden in the middle of the dying, Carried water from a mile away— an oasis of green in a desert a harvest I’d reap some day. [Chorus] Whistle Pig came whistling, A Roman candle screaming higher, Hell hath no fury Than a Whistle Pig on fire. [Verse 2 — The Thief] Next morning the beans lay shredded, Leaves chewed down to the stem. Tracks like warnings in the dirt road dust, And a tunnel where the fence line ends. I waited ’til the twilight settled, Saw him rise with a thief’s delight— A fat little king of my summer’s labor, Bold as sin in the fading light. [Chorus] Whistle Pig came whistling, A Roman candle screaming higher, Hell hath no fury Than a Whistle Pig on fire. [Verse 3 — The Match] I mixed up a farmer’s fatal brew: Gasoline, diesel, and oil. Poured it down the whistle pig’s hole Thinking I’d bring justice to a boil, Struck a match like a final answer, Heard that hush before the roar— Then a blazing fury came tearing upward, Like some demon I’d never seen before. [Chorus] Whistle Pig came whistling, A Roman candle screaming higher, Hell hath no fury Than a Whistle Pig on fire. [Verse 4 — The Consequence] He lit up the dry grass behind him, Flames rising as he ran pell mell And the field turned bright as daylight, Like the world had gone to hell. Sirens came screaming down my driveway, I told the truth with shaking hands. Sometimes a man’s burning desire burns a whole lot more than he planned. [Bridge] Fire chief wiped his forehead, Said, “Bill, what were you tryin’ to prove?” I stared at the smoke and my blackened fields, said, “What was I supposed to do?” He shook his head at the ashes, Like he’d heard every kind of boast— he said, “You sure went through a lot of trouble to have a pig roast.” [Final Chorus] Whistle Pig came whistling, A Roman candle screaming higher, Hell hath no fury Than a Whistle Pig on fire.

    Quetzal

It seems like it was just a dream, one which fades each night as I lie in my bed, dreams of you, mountains green and red like the quetzal. Queremos paz. Queremos libertad. Queremos comida y una lugar segura donde recostar nuestras cabezas. My memory seems to flee to chase the models on the screen, your words so soon forgotten, drowned in the noise of radio and TV. Queremos paz. Queremos libertad. Queremos comida y una lugar segura donde recostar nuestras cabezas. I can come and go as I please and I am protected from your pain. I hear the red running in the rain, pictures fade to a blip on the screen. Queremos paz. Queremos libertad. Queremos comida y una lugar segura donde recostar nuestras cabezas. In the jungle the quetzal hides, leaves the sky to the silver birds, silver bullets, silver bombs from silver coins inscribed with God and Trust. Queremos paz. Queremos libertad. Queremos comida y una lugar segura donde recostar nuestras cabezas. Wait for the moon, full moon to find the men who hide in the shadows silver in their hand when the quetzal will fly again. Queremos paz. Queremos libertad. Queremos comida y una lugar segura donde recostar nuestras cabezas. All is gray like a bleeding newspaper, bleeds for the truth, bleeds for me, bleeds for you, and what we all will lose.

    Tomorrow

Tomorrow August 1997 In the sugar cane they laid us down like a harvest, guns and fear the scythes. Tranquilo, baby, tranquilo. Watch the shooting stars in the bandido’s eyes. Tomorrow we will not lie in a field where the stars fall from the sky. Tomorrow these men will give their lives to a love so strong it never dies. In a road of grass a row of flesh, precious lives, faces pressed to the earth side by side. Misacordia, baby, misacordia. Listen to the wind in the cane not the pain and fear inside. Tomorrow we will not lie in a field where the stars fall from the sky. Tomorrow these men will give their lives to a love so strong it never dies.

Asheville (Live Intentional Blackout Concert October 2018)

In June of 2006, I wrote a song called Asheville. I had recently visited the town, and as I reflected on that visit and a conversation I had with an aging musician, I penned the lyrics below. I am a big fan of Johnny Cash, and this song's musical cadence is my attempt to honor the Man in Black. The song has always been one of favorites. Though I have yet to make a studio recording of the song, I have performed it live on numerous occasions where it has been well-received. Upon learning of the recent devastation of Asheville by Hurricane Helene, I decided to release on an EP several live recordings as well as new mixes and interpretations of the song in solidarity with the people of Asheville as they begin the long hard task of cleaning up and rebuilding. Proceeds from the sale of the EP will go to help Asheville rise from the rubble of this difficult time. KMLS #AshevilleStrong

    Lincoln Is Coming

From the Onusia Project Lincoln is coming He’s risen from the grave He’s got a message for his people He’s on a mission to save The vampires are feasting on his party They have sucked out its soul Here comes Lincoln He’s gonna try and make it whole He understands the pain of bullets He’s got one rattling in his head He understands your fear of tyrants Though he knows you’ve been misled Your leaders have twisted the message They’ve made freedom an individual thing Here comes Lincoln He’s got a different song to sing Lincoln is coming He’s heard your talk of civil war He’s seen the fields of the bloody dead And he wonders what you’re fighting for Would you really take up arms and kill your fellow citizens? Here comes Lincoln He doesn’t want it to happen again Lincoln is coming He’s not just here to watch the play He seeks a more perfect union He’s come to save the day Though he wonders if you’ll listen Or if you’ll be the assassin’s hand Here comes Lincoln He’ll give his life again for this land Lincoln is coming He’s a ghost from the past He’s here to teach some history And a lesson he hopes will last He knows you’ll probably shoot him down He’s pretty sure you’ll kill him again Here comes Lincoln Another sacrifice for your sin Lincoln is coming He’s hoping to stop the pain He’s got his finger pointing at your head Where you wear the mark of Cain When you choose to kill your brother, he says, You’re killing yourself too. Here comes Lincoln You better listen to what is true Here comes Lincoln Will his message finally get through? Here comes Lincoln He’s already died once for you
