    96. One and Done Organizing

Send us Fan MailYou know how you go to the salon and ask for a specific type of look, and no one tells you just how much maintenance that look will take, let alone how much it will cost? The same can happen with organizing, if you end up going with a professional who tends to offer "one and done" projects. 82. What the Container Store Did Wrong! (Also on YouTube!)

Send us Fan MailNote: After recording this episode, I read an article from the U.S. Sun, dated January 30, 2025, talking about how The Container Store pulled out of bankruptcy in an effort to go private and restructure. They were in debt TWO HUNDRED AND FORTY MILLION DOLLARS. Apparently, they've received $40 million to figure things out. The article stated that "financial experts" blamed their struggle on high mortgage rates - that "when people move, they buy a heck of a lot of storage and organization stuff" and that's why sales had gone down. All I have to say, other than the fact that I hope that they use part of it to fix the freakin' escalator (once and for all) at the Nashville Green Hills location, is that the "people aren't moving" excuse is total crap. In fact, when people are stuck where they are, they tend to spend MORE on storage, organization, remodeling - anything - to make their current space work. Now, with that said, please enjoy this episode that I FIRST recorded last SUMMER - TWICE - but due to technical issues, neither saw the light of day. "What the Container Store Did Wrong" was the title of this BEFORE I even saw the article of them making excuses. You wanna know why they struggled? I lay it all out here. Let me know what you think! 80. Hoarding Series: Episode 1 of 5: The Hoarding Spectrum

Send us Fan MailIn this first episode of five, of our first-ever hoarding "series," we're going to explore the idea of Hoarding being on its own spectrum and possibly NOT the OCD spectrum, as many currently believe. As I say frequently, I am NOT a mental health professional, but I DO have many opinions on this topic after spending years watching hoarders and their habits. It's something to think about and it's kicking off our discussion on this topic as a whole. Support the show

    79. Organizing Excuses (Also on YouTube!)

Send us Fan MailHey Everyone! The first episode of the Hoarding series has been recorded. It should be out in the next few days! The reason I'm publishing THIS episode about Organizing Excuses NOW is because we just launched on YouTube and I want you all to head over there right away, so you can like and subscribe. I also want there to be "tandem" episodes that go along with the Hoarding series, so that those who aren't ready for the "heaviness" of Hoarding, there will be other episodes to choose from. In this episode, we'll talk about the excuses people make not to organize their spaces, moreso AFTER they say they are going to. 78. Introduction to Hoarding

Send us Fan MailSince this podcast began, over a year ago, we've talked quite a bit about Organizing, a little about Cleaning, and very little about Hoarding - while Hoarding is by far the HARDEST habit for people to deal with. In this introduction, I talk candidly about my feelings, in regards to how the topic of Hoarding is portrayed, on TV and in the news. I also talk about the Hoarding SERIES coming up that I put together, exclusively for this podcast, and how I believe it will help those DEALING with Hoarders in their life. I think this topic is worth discussing and I'm going to do my best to give it the attention it truly deserves. Support the show

    74. Organizing Meditation: Distant Train Sounds and Birds

Send us Fan MailHey Labelers! This week, we're on Spring Break, so the pod is ALSO taking a much- needed break! The first half of the week, we did a staycation, and I picked up Bird and Squirrel Watching! I'm really loving it. I bought a squirrel feeder and have been taking video of them eating and playing. So, then I started a YouTube channel and now I'm officially a Bird Lady lol. My boyfriend said something this morning that gave me an awesome idea. He said that he's been listening to my nature videos while he works (and organizes, of course). I thought, "Why not offer that to my pod listeners??" So, I took the video footage and created an audio file for you to enjoy as well. Today, you're listening to all the "urban neighborhood" sounds of Nashville, including trains, cars, people and, of course, my furry and feathery friends, eating and talking to each other. :) Let me know if you enjoy this type of content by going to labledorganizing.com and clicking the contact button! But what about the experience of letting things go? Is there a way to offer OURSELVES a "trial" in order to see what life would be like living with fewer things?
