Episodes

  1. 064: i know who i be acid remix

this traxck has been stuck in my head for over a week now and it's so good. I couldn't help but acidize it a little though.: avido, JAZZWRLD, GL_Ceejay - I Know Who I Be. Original here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fo7MlimxqFQ

  2. 064: noise exploration

I stepped up tot he machines and thought "what if I can't find a groove" so I thought sod it no predefined beats. So this is an exploration of noise and found rhythms. Mostly driven by the MetalFetishist

  3. 063: cv-jam

experimental mix using the Metal Fetishist driving the 777 over CVs. This is my first time out using this approach. It has a few random bits but picks up on some nice grooves

  4. 062: meditation

Slowly evolving and hypnotic. No sudden movements or sounds. Quietly heavy in places but only subtle. Ideal for coding or to drift off to sleep or other worlds

  5. 061: Live from STB

Soothe your weary brain in a bath of cool noise. Allow the static to caress your skin as deeply distorted frequencies penetrate your bones. Celebratory 50 min set testing out my new setup for doing live stuff. I'm pretty pleased with how that went.

  6. 060: boxfreak

testing out a new way of making mixes using just the bluebox mixer and the microfreak. a bit more chilled than usual xD

  7. 059: tr8s mayhem

TR8S and RC505, going mental. 29mins live and unrehearsed. This is all about the energy.

  8. 058: emergence

I was kinda wanting to revisit what I did in episode 042 (Going full Krista) so this is experimenting with just how far i can push the womp directive on the TR8S. Created only on the TR8S. Large speakers recommended. Heavy drums & ripping bass

  9. 057: top secret NYE rave live set

I think this is the first time I've tried using the MetalFetishist in an actual set, rather than just experimenting with it. This was TR8S, MF and the Boss RC-303 for samples and such. It's a bit rough in places but I really like the energy throughout.

  10. 056: further metal fetishist experiments

Unfrotunately because i messed up the naming of the files on the previous two eps and changed it, youtube decided not to pull them across to please check them out on the podcast at 303.co.uk. This is TR8S and the MF once again, but experimenting with trig

  11. 055: metal fetishist - experiments 03 - how it started

an earlier experiment, initially putting the MF with the TR8S but the TR seemed somewhat redundant.

  12. 054: metal fetishist - experiments 14 - how its going

ok so since i got the body synths metal fetishist i've been on a bit of a weird journey trying to find what it works with abnd what works with it FOR ME. These are totally out of order but are some of my experimentations into this realm.

  13. 053: bunker womp

survived another challenging week of vehicular chaos, culminating in moving out of the van and into the bunker (for now at least). Time for some acid then. 1:15hrs acid techno improv mix

  14. 052: memories

stressy day doing work on the van, needed some grinding basslines and wistful noise. sorry about the levels

  15. 051: gatebuilders

Back to basics - why am I doing this? For the ACIIIIID noises of course. This one is for me, what *I* enjoy. so it's a slowly evolving piece with lovely rich layers of frequencies overlapping & doing lovely things. Hopefully the mp3 doesn't mash it up

  16. 050: pink pony club (hardbonk bunker powerpc remix)

This is my take on Chappel Roan's excellent Pink Pony Club track which got stuck in my head about 2-3 weeks ago and has been drving me nuts ever since. This is me exorcising it for my mental health. I don't profit from this, pretty please don't sue

  17. 049: I want ur luv (extended techno version)

I know I know, look I'm fascinated by how both the vox and the bassline don't quite fit into normal patterns but that somehow it works. Idk if I'll ever get bored of it so this may not be the last version. Slightly different style from usual

  18. 048: bunker womp

Testing my new indoor setup - which I don't have to dismantle right after use every time \o/, and I'm making the most of it. This is a pretty wompy mix, testing the new setup, in preparation for some sort of live set potentially

  19. 047: cathinone

A stompy 11-min mini live mix from one of my many recent wompy sessions

  20. 046: reactor self cleaning cycle

so waaay back in the 1800s when the idea of a techno reactor was first conceived, even then they realised there would be stuff you didn't want... bum notes, missed drops, whatever. Well over time that stuff clogs up your reactor and you definitely don't w

  21. 045: subwoofer stress test

Inspired by a Colin Benders set I kinda loved how he fished around for pitches and sounds while in the mix, and risking making those changes led to a better overall mix. So I figured I'd try relaxing my position on in-mix changes...subwoofer ON

  22. 044: newfloor

it's not very often I'd get to make this very niche wordplay, but this is a short mix to unwind after fitting my new floor (which happens to also be hard) so I couldn't resist. Here we're back to basics, drum machine, 303 and off we go!

  23. 043: entropea returns

I just re-built and revised my "Entropea" expression controller (now with hold switches), so this is a short test-drive on it. In this case it's running a Roland S1 micro-synth through the bluebox mixer

  24. 042: going full krista

inspired by Krista Borgeouis' modular live set, 15 mins of totally un-restrained glorious YOMP.

  25. 041: 777-meditation

a slow, somewhat self-indulgent meditation on just the FutureRetro 777, showing off some of the twisted sounds it can make. There's also a tiny bit of bubbling acidity from the TD3

  26. 040: LD50:50 - trancey acid techno set on the mobile reactor - birthday set!

Slowly evolving trancey acid mix from my recent birthday! I did several live mixes that weekend but this was my favourite. It had the TD3 and the FutureRetro 777 just working perfectly together with the TR8S.

  27. 039: random twinkly

Quite an old chilled acid mix, from 22/09/2021, requested by someone on youtube. There's a bit of noise on the recording, not sure there's much I can do about that, sorry.

  28. 038: laut sein (schranz mashup)

This is a live wompy mashup using a sample from "Laut Sein" by #CEObusters feat. Irie Revolte (Sensay remix),. The original track is so good, the main hook got stuck in my head and this was the only way to get it out.

  29. 037: dorley

This is the beginning of a series of explorations of noise/techno, line noise, interference and suchlike. The RC-505 is surprisingly good for this! Vox sample is from the audiobook of "Sisters of Dorley", by Alyson Greaves, read by Velvette

  30. 036: muriatic-777

2 hour improvised very acid techno hardware live set

  31. 035: found the plot - live set

2 hour live hardware techno set. Video of this should be up on youtube (if not already then soon)

  32. 034: tf12: faster fish jam

OUR FIRST GUEST SLOT! And there's nobody I'd rather it be :-)

  33. 033: thing about techno

30 min live acid/techno mix. Fat basslines and screaming acid, as it should be.

  34. 032: only god knows that

Acid techno, I rather like this setup

  35. 031: s1 twinkly

something a bit different from the romping techno - trying to explore the S1 a bit more

  36. 030: short acid techno jam

trying to see how the new TRS8 fits into my setup, what boxes it works with and which it doesn't. This is TRS8 and T8 together, maybe with a bit of S1 in the mix too.

  37. 029: We like to fuck (live remix)

another mini-jam with more testing to see how the TRS8 fits into my setup.

  38. 028: NYE 2024 Mini live set

short acid techno live jam. Happy New Year!

  39. 027: schranz techno live set

A little 30 min schranz/techno mix to get the blood pumping. Might be a bit clippy in places. I got a bit carried away :-D

  40. 026: all in (vantrax)

Dawless hardstyle mix on Roland Sp-404 mk2 and Boss RC-505 mk2

  41. 025: para caddy (vantrax)

Quoting one of my favourite passages from the Gospel According to Cadalack Ron. There is not a time when these basslines aren't gonna feel nice for me :-)

  42. 024: applause breakcore (vantrax kaoss remix)

so then when TF12says something innocent like 'I wonder if the T8 can do breakbeat' and ofc my brain is like "I TOO HAVE BEEN WONDERING THIS"...and then goes on a pattern creating frenzy...

  43. 023: applause (vantrax remix)

I've had this tune stuck in my head for a while now (like months) and *finally* had the tools and time to get it out...I slept so well after :-)

  44. 022: schranz with hans (vantrax)

Yes more yompy noise - this time featuring the new Roland Aira S-1. Tbh I'd only got the S-1 that same day so I'm just pattern cruising on it, so the pads used in the break are just one of the demo/presets but it happened to fit quite nicely so off we wen

  45. 021: fire up the reactor (vantrax remix)

Well apparently the pesky reactor still won't start but instead of investing in staff and infrastructure the management just keep yelling about it...or something. Idk, kinda typical tbh.

  46. 020: schranz in your pantz

Celebrating 20 episodes!!!! WOHOOOO!! This is a schranz mini-mix from after having just rebuilt the TechnoMaschine around the RC-505 and my new Mackie mixing desks.

  47. 019: you ain't it (live mashup)

This is a short test of a 505-based minimal/live setup with something I'd previously recorded on the main setup. See what you think..

  48. 018: fire up the reactor

I'm trying to figure out how the RC505 fits into my setup and so far it just seems to keep spitting out increasingly hard techno. Beatbox goes Yomp Yomp Yomp. Unapologetically romping, womping, make your feet a stomping. Idk i only work here.

  49. 017: underwire

Beats, techno, screaming 303s... you get the idea. Producing it quicker than i can publish it...

  50. 016: rewire

Hardware live set on my recently revised setup, mostly based on Kaoss pads and 303s
