On Air With David Duane w/ Special Guest: Eric Benet & Paloma Ford
From barefoot dreadlocked troubadour to suave standard-bearer for contemporary R&B. Eric Benét may have changed his look, but one thing has remained consistent: his dedication to crafting authentic music that engages the soul. “I’m not chasing any current whatevers,” says Benét, a four-time Grammy Award nominee. “It’s about music that gives me goose bumps and touches my soul. That’s always been a good barometer for me.” Case in point: the singer-songwriter’s latest top 5 Urban AC single, “Sunshine.” The pure soul/R&B track provides the perfect backdrop for Benét’s heartfelt reflections on a relationship that has lost its spark. The hit has since sparked a remix version featuring Tamia—the singer’s memorable duet partner on his career breakthrough hit, 1999’s “Spend My Life with You.” “‘Spend’ is almost like the national anthem vocally,” notes Benét. “You’ve got to have so much in your arsenal to successfully sing it. Not many singers can do that. But Tamia is all that and more. So it was such a joy to reunite with her on the ‘Sunshine’ remix.”Both tracks are featured on Benét’s eighth studio album. The self-titled, 13-song project, available Oct. 7 from Jordan House/Primary Wave Music, once again showcases the depth of the singer-songwriter’s musical scope. “Sometimes it’s almost like artists pick a color and stay with that for most of an album,” says Benét. “I don’t like to do one-note albums.”

Since emerging on the scene, songstress and songwriter Tweet, born Charlene Keys, has been a favorite for R&B music lovers. Now, after a six-year hiatus, she is back with her third studio album Charlene, a testament to her professional, personal, and emotional evolution. Charlene is food for the soul that will feed Tweet’s loyal fan base hungry for her return, and also pique the appetite of new fans with its powerful, expressive tracks delivered with passion and fervor, and a different, more mellow and poised sound than her previous hit albums, Southern Hummingbird and It’s Me Again. Smooth-talking heartthrob of VH1’s hit scripted series “Hit the Floor,” MCKINLEY FREEMAN hypnotized viewers as star basketball player ‘Derek Roman’ of the L.A. Devils and love interest of female lead Ahsha, portrayed by actress Taylour Paige. On Air With David Duane w/ Special Guest: Tank & August Rigo
While making his seventh full-length album, SLP2 [R&B Money/Atlantic Records], Tank posed a crucial question. “What does cutting edge R&B sound like in 2016?” he asks. That album not only provided a blueprint for the likes of Chris Brown, Trey Songz, and more, but it also debuted at #2 on the Billboard Top 200 and earned a Grammy Award nomination for “Best R&B Album,” while its #1 single “Please Don’t Go” became nominated for “Best R&B Male Vocal Performance.” Following 2014’s Stronger, Tank once again captured a creative spirit that resembled the process behind his seminal third body of work.As far as sequels go, Tank knew he had to go even bigger to make SLP2 the blockbuster audiences desired. In addition to cameos from Shawn Stockman of Boyz II Men and Yo Gotti, he assembled a new West Coast anthem in the form of the Tank produced “Birthday” with a little help from Chris Brown, Problem, and Siya.
