Global Schools Program is part of the UN’s Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN). This initiative supports teachers in integrating the SDGs into school education. A variety of texts and speeches reach us from all sides. Apart from humans, we have print and electronic mediums to facilitate the journey of language to us. There are scripts, sounds, accents, stress and intonation patterns, connotations intentions and intuitions in the communication we do through ‘Listening’.Listening has been defined as the "thoughtful attention one pays to what is heard". It explains much of what Listening should be. We hear sounds and make meaning out of them and curate a response, quick or delayed, but for sure we respond. If the sounds don't mean anything or we don't see them as part of the 'interaction' we ignore them, and refuse to react, even though we hear the sounds. Listening is the Primary Skill that makes us sensible humans.
