Left on the Field - Stories of MSF Negotiators

In this new episode, we speak to Diana, Head of Mission in Haiti, about negotiating for something as important as access to healthcare in Haiti, with different stakeholders including gangs, police and even MSF staff. She shares very personal stories about negotiating as woman, in front of mainly male counterparts, and the importance of clarity, leadership, empathy, humanity and firmness. 

This episode features a story from Fatima, Midwife Supervisor in Afghanistan who has worked with MSF since 2009. Fatima shared her experience negotiating with male caretakers in one of the busiest maternities in Afghanistan. 

In this episode of 'Left on the Field' we speak to Chaity Dey, a Humanitarian Affairs Officer in Bangladesh, who has worked with MSF since 2018. From securing birth certificates for Rohingya babies to ensuring the protection of vulnerable survivors, she negotiates with several interlocutors at the same time to achieve the best possible agreements. Her journey becoming an MSF negotiator is a powerful testament to the impact of MSF negotiators on the lives of our patients. 

This episode features a story from Stella, Midwife Activity Manager who has worked with MSF in twelve different countries and negotiated the implementation of SAC activities for displaced women and girls in one of our country programs.  We hope you like it and stay tuned for the next episodes.
