The two had been married for about years and felt a tugging to foster to adopt. Recently, they have been in the process of becoming licensed foster parents. For almost all of her childhood, Darlene had bounced around from foster home to foster home. Each time she thought she had found solace, she was greeted with poor conditions and abuse after abuse. Her heart became hardened and calloused to the treatment, and she became closed off to receiving any love. She had to surrender and give God control over her will to find freedom.
