by literally, just me
Welcome to the literally, just me podcast where your host is talking TV. This podcast will start off with me re-watching my favorite TV shows from childhood because I'm interested how I will perceive them now versus how I did versus when I was a naive, angsty teenager. Along the way I may deviate from my TV reviews to discuss whatever else is on my mind. —-The literally, just me podcast is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Anchor, and other platforms. -
Instant Star: 407, 408 - Not an Addict, Brilliant Mistake
we're back! This time we're talking about the saga of finishing/reworking Jude's third album. I also question why they're trying to make a villain of our sweet, innocent Kwest.

**Skip to 16:55 if you want to go straight to 403 talk! Back this time with the third episode of the final season! We're finally (hopefully) wrapping up the 'Jamie is a sadsack' saga. Also, I found deleted scenes throughout the series - listen to what I think should have stayed and what was...

-
Instant Star - 310: Nowhere to Run
We're back with Jude's 18th birthday party fallout, Hunter still lurking in the background, and Spied going solo! It lacked this season's usual dramatics which is probably why I liked it! ----------------------- The 'literally, just me' podcast is available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and more!…

Instant Star - 308, 309: 18
Well folks - it's the big day (yikes) - Jude is finally 18! And we're taking two whole episodes to celebrate. And in typical birthday episode fashion, nothing can go right.
-
Instant Star - 307: The Long and Winding Road
Hey you! It's been awhile, you're looking great. I'm finally back with episode 307 of Instant Star. This time around I'm talking a lot about grooming and my idea of a reimagining of the show. The Good. The Bad. The Basic's episode on Instant Star:...
-
Instant Star - 306: Heart of Gold
We're back with another filler episode, but I try to make the most of it. Hang in there, 307 is when the mess begins... ---------------------- The literally, just me podcast is available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and wherever else you listen to podcasts. To get in touch with the host…

Instant Star - 304, 305: Helter Skelter, Let it Be

Instant Star - 303: Start Me Up
This episode is unfortunately filler-heavy but we've got a big plotline around the corner.... --- The literally, just me podcast is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and wherever else you listen to podcasts! To get in touch with the host Janae, @janaedoes on Instagram or Twitter or email...
-
Instant Star - 302: Like a Virgin
We're back with another episode - This one (mostly) is centered around whether or not a 17 year-old is lying about being a virgin (but it's actually a pretty fun episode, I promise). ---- The literally, just me podcast is available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and wherever else podcasts are found!...
-
Instant Star - 301: Lose Yourself
it's time for Season 3. This time around I'm talking cliffhangers, the second coming of Eden, and much more!
-
Instant Star - 213: Date with the Night
I'm back from my hiatus with the messy season 2 finale.
-
Instant Star - 212: When I Come Around
Season 2 has almost come to a close and we've got another cute episode on deck. And also another inevitable breakup.
-
Instant Star - 211: Mother's Little Helper

-
Instant Star - 210: Problem Child
Hi all, it's a short episode this time so you know what that means.... I hated it!
-
Instant Star - 209: Hallelujah
We're back with Jude's 17th birthday, my least favorite plot device, and can we please please please make Caveman Days an actual thing?
-
Instant Star - 208: Personality Crisis
This episode I give out my lowest rating thus far, but at least there are guest appearances from Drake and Stacey Farber to keep my attention.
-
Instant Star - 207: Stranger in the House
We're back this time with a 70s party! Also my favorite B-plot of the season and my first conspiracy theory. But most importantly, the writers (and I) have finally had enough of the Sadie/Tommy relationship. ---- The literally, just me podcast is available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and wherever...
-
Instant Star - 206: The Jean Genie
This time around we get the beginning of Jude and Spied's (low stakes) relationship and plenty of Canadian tuxedos to go around. Also another widely irrelevant B plot.
-
Instant Star - 205: Viciousness
We're back with another spooky scary episode of the podcast - just in time for Halloween! I talk about the reality of friend jealousy and of course, more anti- "Jude and Jamie as a couple" rhetoric.
-
Instant Star - 204: Miss World
This time around we get to see how charming of a character Jamie can be when the writers allow his personality to be more than just obsessing over Jude! --- The literally, just me podcast is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Overcast and wherever you listen to podcasts. To get in touch with…

Instant Star - 203: I Fought the Law
This week's episode was quite a bit of filler - but actually kind of fun filler? I'd say that Season 2 does a better job of making plotlines that I don't care about enjoyable to watch. And for that I'm thankful!
-
Instant Star - 201, 202: No Sleep 'Til Brooklyn
Hi all! We're back with Season 2 of Instant Star and this episode we've got a whole lot of new! We get to see the beginning (and end) of Jude and Jamie's new relationship, the all new G-Major, and so much new hair! ---- The 'literally, just me' podcast is available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and...
-
Instant Star - 113: Should I Stay or Should I Go?
Hi all - we finally made it through Season 1!! This finale puts a perfect bow on the end of the first season and gives us a good foundation for Season 2 to build on. Jude's first album is finished, Shay (!!) is back one last time, and I explain why I just cannot get into Team Jamie. -- The...
-
Instant Star - 112: Train in Vain
Jude's first album is almost finished and Tommy is trying to quit again. That's it ... that's the whole plot.
-
Instant Star - 111: All Apologies
Hi all! We're back talking more Instant Star. This time around we've got episode 111, All Apologies, and it's a Tommy-centric episode! We learn about his past as boy band member of Boyz (yes, with a Z) Attack. And we get one last episode of Eden being a mean girl cliche because that's apparently...
-
Instant Star - 110: Lose This Skin
This week on my rewatch of Instant Star, we've got the first episode to make me say "wow that sucked". We've also got complete retcons of friendships in this episode... but at least we get to meet Spiederman Mind Explosion!
-
Instant Star - 109: Won't Get Fooled Again
Jude is dealing with the fallout of being embarrassed in front of the nation...and getting broken up with....and her father’s affair....and finally getting to tongue down the older man that she’s in love with then him asking for take-backsies... The 'literally, just me' podcast is available on...
-
Instant Star - 108: Unsweet Sixteen
It's finally time! Today I'm talking about what I would say is the undeniably most iconic episode of Instant Star out of the entire series. It's Jude 16th birthday! She has a super famous boyfriend, a recording contract, and the support of her family and friends and her really hot ex-boy band...
-
Instant Star - 107: I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend
Hi all - we're back re-watching more Instant Star. This episode, I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend, is truly one of my favorite of the season and even the whole series. In my opinion, the show is never more charming than it is in this episode - which isn't to say that the rest of the episodes aren't…
more -
Instant Star - 106: Kiss Me Deadly
This time around we've got car washes and we've got "booty girls". I also lament on the dying art that is the concept music video. I also find myself with a renewed investment in the Jude-Shay relationship.
-
Instant Star - 105: You Can't Always Get What You Want
In this episode, we finally get to meet S to the H to the A to the Y - Shay and man do I love it. This is definitely where the series hits it stride. 105 is a super fun episode so grab a box of Jujubes and settle in.
-
Instant Star - 104: Hey Sister
This one is an alright episode with some charming moments, but we keep building and building to a big reveal....
-
Instant Star - 103: Oh Well Whatever Nevermind
This episode is a bit shorter because this episode of Instant Star is .... just not that great. Or interesting. But more interesting story lines are on the horizon, we've just gotta get past this filler!
-
Instant Star - 102: Come as You Are
We have a fun, lighthearted episode that we really needed after the whirlwind that was the series premiere.
-
Instant Star - 101: Even Better Than the Real Thing
Hello and welcome to the very first episode of the "literally, just me" podcast!! The first 'season' of this podcast is going to be me re-watching my favorite TV show of all my childhood: Instant Star. Instant Star was a Canadian teen-drama (a la Degrassi) that ran from 2004-2008 featuring a...
