Ani Aznavoorian, cello and Marta Aznavoorian, piano
The Aznavoorian Sisters launched their musical careers with a debut performance at ages four and eight at their Armenian church in Evanston, Illinois. Today, pianist Marta and cellist Ani are both award-winning, internationally acclaimed instrumentalists and recording artists. Ani is the longtime principal cellist of Camerata Pacifica and proudly performs on a cello made by their father, the luthier Peter Aznavoorian. Marta is a founding member of the GRAMMY-nominated Lincoln Trio, and is a Steinway Artist. Michael Stephen Brown, piano
Pianist and composer Michael Stephen Brown takes a break from his busy concert touring to return to Live From WFMT. He’ll share two works from his forthcoming album of his own music, Twelve Blocks—Four Lakes for Children, inspired by the children of Yaddo, and Pour Angeline. The program also features music by Ravel, Chopin, and Mendelssohn, along with the world premiere of a new piece by Michael’s longtime mentor Samuel Adler. Michael is currently preparing to record all of Fauré’s Nocturnes, and he’ll also perform a selection of those beautiful compositions on this broadcast. Juliani Ensemble

Victor Santiago Asuncion, piano & Gabriel Martins, cello
Hailed by the Washington Post for his “poised and imaginative playing,” pianist Victor Santiago Asunción is also an internationally respected recital collaborator. Victor recently established the American Recital Debut Award as a means to champion the careers of exceptional emerging classical musicians, and to honor the memory of his longtime chamber music partner, the great American cellist Lynn Harrell. On December 13, 2025, Victor will join ARD award honoree, Gabriel Martins, as the Brazilian-American cellist makes his debut at Carnegie Hall. Oliver Talukder, Oboe & Moriah Trenk, piano
Oboist Oliver Talukder brings a unique blend of cultural influences to the world of classical music. In May 2025, Oliver captured the top prize in Cedille Records’ Emerging Artist Competition, earning a recording contract and the opportunity to release his debut solo album on the internationally acclaimed label. This forthcoming project is more than a personal milestone — it’s a testament to his Mexican and Bengali heritage, and upbringing in Chicago.
