We are tempted in various ways and at various times. It is hard to overcome temptation and we often fail. But did you know that the Bible tells us that we don't have to fail because Jesus helps us when we are tempted? How does he help? In this message, we will look at the promise of Jesus' help from Hebrews 4:14-16 and the evidence of how He overcame the tempter in Matthew 4:1-11.

Clever marketing has created some memorable ad campaigns like "Just Do It", "Have it your way" or "Where's the beef?" But when John proclaims the gospel he says something that would not be approved by an ad exec. "Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand." Seems like a bad start for marketing for the gospel. In this message, we will look at Matthew 3 and dissect this message of the gospel line by line. What does it mean to repent? Why is it required? And what are the implications of the Kingdom of Heaven for your life?

Herod the Great was history’s first Grinch. Herod hated Christmas. He didn’t try to steal it. He tried to end it. Why? Because as evil and delusional as he was, Herod was keenly aware of the implications of Christ's birth. His strong reaction is evidence that he understood the meaning of Jesus’ birth. What’s your response to the birth of Christ? Herod hated Christmas because:Christmas is treasonous. He didn't get a gift.Christmas calls for surrender.Because Herod hated Christmas he made sure others would suffer.Revelation 12:17

If you were given the pen to finish the pivotal statement in the genesis story of an all powerful Savior how would you finish it? "He will save his people from ________ " what? Poverty? Suffering? Hunger? Sickness? War? What would you want the Savior to do to help the world?Matthew doesn't mention any of that. Instead, the Gospel writer shares that Jesus came to save us from our biggest problem? What is it and how does He do it? The answer is in Matthew 1. 

God wants you to know Him and do His will.  Today we will look at more realities of our relationship with the Lord.

God is always at work around you.  God pursues a continuing love relationship with you that is real and personal.  God invites you to become involved with Him in His work.

Do you know about God or do you truly know Him?  You can have a relationship with the Lord and see Him at work in your life. We do not know the Lord only by our experiences.  We are not to test God and demand He prove Himself by our experiences.
