Living In Fear

Welcome to Living In Fear (A Horror Film Podcast) with Luis and Mia.Our goal here is simply to have fun watching horror films and talking about them after. We prefer going in as blind as possible and we also love seeing what lower budgets and other countries have to offer; we love our subtitles here. Most of the films we will be watching for the first time. Some we’ll love, some we’ll hate but that’s okay; we just enjoy the experience!

  1. 38

    Hokum (2026) | Episode 031

We’re doing things a little bit differently this time and jumping right into our thoughts on Hokum (2026). Listen as we try to decipher what really happened and what was all nonsense (hokum).Podcast music by Scott Arc.

  2. 37

    Him (2025) | Episode 030

Sports! Yeah! We are totally not the people to talk about sports, but for whatever reason Mia was really excited to see HIM (2025). Maybe because there aren’t really any sports themed horror movies out there? And as for Luis, he was really excited to see Project Hail Mary so he’ll share some of his thoughts on it. And don’t worry, no spoilers for that one.Podcast music by Scott Arc.

  3. 36

    Undertone (2026) | Episode 029

Of course we couldn’t miss recording a podcast on a film about a podcast. We’re discussing Undertone (2026) this week. We went in not knowing anything about it, but how did it leave us feeling? You’ll have to listen to find out. And if the title makes you start singing Linkin Park, just know you are not alone.Podcast music by Scott Arc.

  4. 35

    Under the Shadow (2016) | Episode 028

This week’s film, Under the Shadow (2016), is the first Persian film we’ve seen. This haunting film is one we highly recommend checking out for yourself. There’s a lot here to read into and we know we just scratched the surface of it all in our own discussion.Podcast music by Scott Arc.

  5. 34

    No Me Sigas (2025) | Episode 027

No Me Sigas (2025) is the first Blumhouse produced movie made outside the US. We have some mixed views on Blumhouse films and this one really didn’t win us over. With social media being at the center of the plot we did find ourselves sharing some of our thoughts on social media and if it will be our downfall.Podcast Music by Scott Arc.

  6. 33

    Desaparecer Por Completo (2022) | Episode 026

Desaparecer Por Completo (2022), translated as Disappear Completely is a horror film from Mexico. We really knew nothing about this one beforehand and recommend for others to go in blind too. Speaking of being blind, there’s a lot of discussion about being able to see in this episode, as Luis wears glasses and Mia is finally getting some!Podcast Music by Scott Arc.

  7. 32

    Iron Lung (2026) | Episode 025

We’ve got another film from a Youtuber. This time it’s Iron Lung (2026) from Markiplier. We skip a lot of the small talk this week to jump right into how we feel about Markiplier and ultimately this movie.Podcast Music by Scott Arc.

  8. 31

Return to Silent Hill (2026) | Episode 024

Return to Silent Hill (2026) seems to be flying under the radar. We had no idea it was coming out this week which usually doesn’t bode well for a movie. As people who love horror and games this feels like it should be made for us, right? Stick around and find out our “high level thoughts” on this one and how we feel about alternate endings, as Silent Hill 2 the game is known to have many alternate endings.Podcast music by Scott Arc.

  9. 30

28 Years Later: The Bone Temple (2026) | Episode 023

It’s officially 2026 and we’re back for our first movie of the year. January horror movies aren’t always known for being the best, but how did we feel about 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple (2026)? It was definitely even wackier than the last one, we’ll say that much at least. Come hear what’s new with us in the new year and what we thought about today’s movie.Podcast Music by Scott Arc.

  10. 29

    Krampus (2015) | Episode 022

We’re back. Finally. This time we’re watching a Christmastime horror film, Krampus (2015). It’s been awhile so first we share some thoughts on games we’ve played recently and shows we’ve been watching. We really enjoyed getting to watch a horror film this holiday season and would love to add more from the horror genre to our Christmas movie list!

  11. 28

    Shelby Oaks (2024) | Episode 021

It’s finally here. Chris Stuckmann’s debut film, Shelby Oaks (2024). We’ve been gone a while (we went to Japan!) so we’re a little rusty, but we had to see this one in theaters. We’re excited his first film was in the horror genre so we could be here talking about it today. (Also, it’s the second film in a row with a main character named Mia.)Podcast music by Scott Arc.

  12. 27

The Taking of Deborah Logan (2014) | Episode 020

With two of the characters being named Mia and Luis, how could we not watch The Taking of Deborah Logan (2014)? But seriously, can one of the characters turn on a light?! Unrelated to anything Luis talks fitness and how he likes to stay active and Mia is excited for all things Halloween!Podcast Music by Scott Arc.

  13. 26

    Weapons (2025) | Episode 019

Weapons (2025) is a film we’ve been looking forward to since we first saw the poster, but did it live up to our excitement? Also, why do we, and people in general, love horror films? And what’s the best type of film to watch with a group of friends?Podcast music by Scott Arc.

  14. 25

    Together (2025) | Episode 018

We’re going to spoil our thoughts for this film by saying, GO SEE IT! We loved Together (2025)! We started off by talking a little about tattoos and movies based on true stories we like, but we were both really excited to jump into sharing all of our thoughts about this film today.Podcast music by Scott Arc.

  15. 24

    The Ritual (2017) | Episode 017

Life is full of choices and each choice has a consequence. The Ritual (2017) deals with life altering decisions and the impact they have on ourselves and others. Would we have done anything differently than these characters? For starters, would we even go on a backpacking trip in the forest? We have lots to discuss today.Podcast music by Scott Arc.

  16. 23

    The Platform (2019) | Episode 016

We’re back this week with The Platform (2019), also known as El Hoyo. This film touches on the class struggle: “Those at the top, those at the bottom, and those who fall.” Wealth is measured by food and a full belly in this prison. Would we eat just our fair share, and how long do we think we could comfortably go without eating?Podcast Music by Scott Arc.

  17. 22

    Incantation (2022) | Episode 015

Today we’ve got another found footage film, Incantation (2022). We also share some of our favorite villains which, let's be honest, they're kind of predictable. And we do our best to avoid spoilers as we discuss a few famous twists from movies we love.Podcast music by Scott Arc.

  18. 21

    Ash (2025) | Episode 014

Ash, that was quite an interesting one we watched this week. Mia has her thoughts, and I have mine. Not a lot of positives overall, but we do our best to be respectful. At the end of the day, I (Luis) think I ended up liking it more than Mia, simply because my guilty pleasure has always been sci-fi slop, especially sci-fi horror. I don’t know. Flying Lotus, we see you, and I’m definitely interested in what you do next.Music by Scott Arc.

  19. 20

    28 Years Later (2025) | Episode 013

28 Years Later (2025) had a lot of surprises in store for us. It’s a new release that we have been looking forward to so we rushed out to the theater to see it. Speaking of movie theaters, is it weird to sit right next to other people in a theater full of empty seats? Mia went on a bit of a tangent about it because that’s exactly what happened at this viewing.Music by Scott Arc.

  20. 19

    28 Weeks Later (2007) | Episode 012

Before the next film in the franchise opens up in theaters we went back and rewatched 28 Weeks Later (2007). The common consensus seems to be that the first film is better, but there is still a lot to be said about this one and there’s a lot that we like about it. Thinking about this film, and zombie films in general, definitely makes us question what we would do in similar circumstances and how far we’d be willing to go to survive.Music by Scott Arc.

  21. 18

    28 Days Later (2002) | Episode 011

We’ve both already seen this week’s film, 28 Days Later (2002), but were excited for a rewatch. We did a bit of research this time around so really felt there was a lot to discuss. With today’s questions we couldn’t help but think about how a dystopian/apocalyptic setting would affect us, would we want to endure it alone or look for others? And what daily comforts would we miss most?

  22. 17

    The Severed Sun (2024) | Episode 010

The Severed Sun (2024) is the debut feature from Dean Puckett. It’s a low budget British horror film that Luis just happened upon, as it doesn’t seem to have any marketing behind its release. We enjoyed it for what it is and honestly will be on the lookout for other projects by this director because he seems to have a lot of potential. Music by Scott Arc.

  23. 16

    Bring Her Back (2025) | Episode 009

Today we’re talking about the new release, Bring Her Back (2025). It’s from the same guys that made Talk to Me (2022). The Philippou brothers started out on YouTube so we share some of our favorite styles of videos we watch and some of our favorite YouTube channels. Luis has a hard time pinning down what a store bought item is and Mia embarrassingly mixes up Jamie Lee Curtis and Catherine O’Hara. We had a lot of fun with this one!Music by Scott Arc.

  24. 15

The Last of Us S2E07 | BONUS Episode

We've finally arrived at the season finale. While we have our criticisms, that doesn’t mean we didn’t enjoy it. We've come to accept that the show and the game are entirely separate mediums and should be appreciated on their own terms. That said, it's hard not to draw comparisons—and while some elements are working well in the show, we think others are falling short.Join us for this final discussion. Throughout this journey, we’ve loved seeing the reactions from newcomers to the story, and there's no doubt the finale will hit differently for them. We're sad it’s over but we look forward to what’s to come.

  25. 14

    Companion (2025) | Episode 008

We celebrated our Valentine’s Day by watching Companion (2025) in the theater. We dive deeper into romantic movies we love and share how we feel about AI and robots.

  26. 13

The Last of Us S2E06 | BONUS Episode

I think this one is going to be a fan favorite. We love the games and all the iconic scenes they’ve brought to life here. They really did them justice. While we still don’t know exactly how things will end or how closely they’ll align with the games, join us as we dive into some of the differences. Some of these scenes had me in tears, and we absolutely love the new additions. We just hope the story is resonating with newcomers, and we have a strong feeling it is. As always, no spoilers for future events in the games, but full spoilers ahead for this episode. It’s a tearjerker, and maybe even Emmy-worthy!

  27. 12

    Aterrados (2017) | Episode 007

Today we’re discussing what kinds of endings we prefer in movies; are we looking to be uplifted or faced with a harsh reality? We also throw a curveball and talk about some romantic movies. Of course our main topic at hand, though, is Aterrados (2017), translated as Terrified. After seeing When Evil Lurks (2023) we had to see more by Demian Rugna. This was a previous film of his so we went in with lower expectations, but (spoiler) we loved this one!

  28. 11

The Last of Us S2E05 | BONUS Episode

We’re back with HBO’s adaptation of The Last of Us! This time, I (Luis) think I liked the episode more than Mia did. We still prefer the games overall, of course, but as always, there were things we really loved. Join us as we dive into the differences between the show and the game, and unpack some of the motivations, character work, and performances, some of which didn’t quite land for us, and others that absolutely did. As always, no spoilers for future events in the games, but full spoilers for this episode. It’s a good one, and an important one in the larger context of the season. We’re curious to hear what everyone else thinks!

  29. 10

    Noroi: The Curse (2005) | Episode 006

Noroi: The Curse (2005) is Luis’s first pick. It’s a found footage style movie so we discuss some of our favorites from the subgenre. We also share some of our worst injuries we’ve ever had. Spoilers for the film mentioned as always, but also be warned our injuries (Luis’s in particular) might make you squirm.

  30. 9

The Last of Us S2E04 | BONUS Episode

Welcome back to our coverage of The Last of Us. This time, we’re diving deep into the latest episode: Season 2, Episode 4. Our reactions are a bit mixed. There are elements we absolutely loved, and others that didn’t quite land for us. As longtime fans of the games, that might be why we’re hesitant to call this episode perfect. Still, there’s something undeniably powerful and memorable here, something we think audiences will really connect with.

  31. 8

    Sinners (2025) | Episode 005

Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan teamed up yet again for Sinners (2025) and we are all here for it! We’ve been playing South of Midnight (2025) so this film fits with the southern vibes we’ve been feeling lately. And it’s always the right time for some vampire talk.

  32. 7

The Last of Us S2E03 | BONUS Episode

Today we’re talking about S2E03 of The Last of Us. After the devastating episode last week, we were eager to learn how things would play out this week. We are huge fans of the games and talk deeply about some of the differences, and some of the new additions. As always, we talk all things spoilers for the episode and will try to do our best not to talk about spoilers for the games. This is a bonus episode, and we’ll be doing one for every premiere on Sunday. We’re just happy to talk more Last of Us!

  33. 6

    Until Dawn (2025) | Episode 004

Today we’re discussing Until Dawn (2025) based on the popular video game of the same title. We share some of our favorite games in the horror genre, there’s a lot of good ones to choose from! On a more random note, we discuss famous paintings we like, which unsurprisingly involves more horror themes.

  34. 5

The Last of Us S2E02 | BONUS Episode

Today we’re talking about S2E02 of The Last of Us. Huge spoiler alert for the episode, we will be talking about everything that happened, and indeed crazy things happened. Like last episode, we’ll do our best to not talk about spoilers for the games. This is a bonus, and we’ll be doing one for every episode premiere on Sunday. We can’t wait to talk about a certain moment in the show and the differences between some of the scenes in the show and the game.

  35. 4

    The Innocents (2021) | Episode 003

The Innocents (2021) is the first fully subtitled film we’ve watched for this podcast. It’s a Norwegian film centered on four children, lucky for us the young actors all do a great job. But before getting into it, we discuss favorite actors, gross movies (we’re looking at you, Human Centipede), and Luis learns what a “Final Girl” is.

  36. 3

The Last of Us S2E01 | BONUS Episode

Today we’re talking about The Last of Us Season 2 premiere. We’re excited as this is one of our favorite stories in video games. We won’t be talking spoilers for the games and will do our best to talk around what is yet to come in season 2. This is a bonus, and we’ll be doing one for every episode premiere on Sunday. We can’t wait to talk about this story, the differences between the show and the game, and the portrayal of all the characters we already know and love.

  37. 2

    Speak No Evil (2022) | Episode 002

Today we’re watching and chatting about Speak No Evil (2022). After being bombarded with trailers for the remake, we felt like we had already seen it so decided we’d rather watch the original. And we’re glad we did, though we are now curious how the two differ.

  38. 1

    The Damned (2024) | Episode 001

Welcome! This is our first official episode so we’re still figuring this whole thing out but we are so excited to be doing this! Today we’re talking about The Damned (2024). Neither of us even knew this film existed until we saw the poster hanging in a local theater but we were quite intrigued by it. This may not be an obvious choice for a first episode, seeing as hardly anyone is talking about this film, but honestly that may have worked in our favor. We’re excited to discuss this lesser known film today and hope to continue covering movies that are less mainstream. We love finding hidden treasures and can’t wait to share them with you.
