LogicallyCritical

In a world where gut feelings are given more authority than facts, where the average person is permitted to drive 2 tons of steel death, and ‘God did it’ is an acceptable answer to why something happened, your life may just depend on listening to this podcast. The LogicallyCritical podcast is intended to encourage critical thinking in everyday situations without the hassle of checking facts at the library. Rather than quote historical research or bore you with statistics about how many dentists suggest what cigarette to their patients, this will use information that we can all reasonably agree on, and will show by example how to more-fully explore any given issue be it traffic, religion, or how to lure a weasel into a cardboard box. The podcast is no longer being actively produced (10/28/07), but the episodes are still available.

    Ode to a Superhero

Ignoring all the fantastical abilities of superheroes, I’d like to point out numerous reasons why we don’t have, or want, masked-people perched atop buildings at night trying to help us.

  8. 25

    Why Atheism?

A practical look at why SOME people just can’t get behind the idea that an all-powerful entity created us and is deciding everyone’s fate. And yes, I use atheist and non-believer interchangeably.

  14. 19

    Experiment CT 101

This is an experimental episode. It’s a more-serious attempt at directly discussing steps to critically examine information. Call it Critically Thinking 101. Let me know is this is vaguely helpful.

  25. 8
  26. 7

    Drugs are bad mmm-kay

Yes, we’ve all been told that drugs are bad. Let’s explore that. Maybe they’re worse than we thought. Maybe they’re better. Maybe we won’t actually come to any conclusion, but hey! we’ll kill some time.

  27. 6

    Jesus Empty Gesture

Warning! This is a highly offensive religious topic. Don’t bother if you’re a fan of Jesus and all that he’s done for you.

  28. 5

    Gay Marriage

Sure homosexuals are an abomination in God’s eyes, but are his the eyes we should worried about? Are there other, secular, issues that concern this controversial topic?

There’s plenty to fear in life from allergic reactions caused by bed-bug feces to backyard ebola. Thankfully someone is trying to hide all this fear from you.

Introduction to what the hell this is about and then onto the episode where the 10 commandments duke it out with the 10 Amendments to determine if the US was founded as a Christian nation. And who is afraid of albino beavers?
