Looking In… Growing up gay, impoverished and forgotten.
by Wayne Hesler-Mondore
Growing up gay, impoverished and forgotten in upstate NY in the 80’s, in a small country town, in a small country school. It wasn't always fun, but it wasn't always bad. Surviving abusive parents, sibling rivalry and my own inner torments made me who I am today. But there were and still are times when I might have not survived, or wanted too.
