Louisiana Trail Report

Beer and Bj's Pizza.  Michael has been  daydreaming again and has come up with a cockamamie but exciting idea. A 100 mile weekend in the state; 3 regions, 5 trails, 24 hours to run a Hundo! As usual, he has no clue how to execute it…maybe you can help! 

Michael has visions of a new race format.  He needs therapy!

First Wine report (with Katherine, our Manager in Shreveport), Interview with Bethany Madson (Ultra Runner Extraordinaire), Brad completely botches Bethany's interview and now needs Nursing Home Placement, Trail Report, and Michael's request from viewers for trail options to try during his summer vacation.

We have a chat with Luke Pearson from the Red River Waterway Commission.  He tells us about the role of the commission and details of what they do.  Luke then gives us some great details regarding a new project in North Louisiana- One North Adventure Trails in Blanchard.  We drink a beer from Crying Eagle in Lake Charles and regale the listener with news of our recent travels.  Brad does a trail profile of Fort Buhlow Recreation Area ( a RRWC Property) in Pineville.  Mike gives the listener some tips for night running so our listeners will be prepared for The Louisiana Summer's Night Ultra in Lafayette.  

New Shoe Report by Katherine Rowell, Cry Baby Beer, Michael visits the Cabin of Caroline Dorman and Brad has an Uncle Rico moment on his return to High School Track and Field. Michael also claims to have won the Noche Del Taco race....that is false! It was a weeknight St. Paddy's Day run....he's just old and forgetful! 

Beer report from Broken Wheel Brewery in Marksville, Louisiana.  Michael discusses his trip to Q50 and alot of chit chat..   Also, a trail profile on a little known trail in Natchitoches that's just a hop and skip from I49.

We talk to Nick Cronan and Chris Ange of LaFeet Running regarding the No Mans Land Trail Run coming up this October as well as all things "Trails" at Sam Houston Jones State Park in Lake Charles.

We sample a blood orange wheat from Fighting Hand Brewing in Pineville.  We announce a new addition to the Louisiana Trail Running Fall Lineup.. the Armadillo Dash.  Michael slaughters the name of a classic Louisiana landmark.  We discuss Brad's dislike for the buckle phenomenon and brainstorm ideas to replace buckles....we don't come up with anything. We do a trail report on Lakeshore trail in Shreveport and discuss a new trail on the horizon.  All that and the first true cuss word in LTR history.  All on this...exciting, non-award winning episode of the Louisiana Trail Report.  

Beer Report on a refreshing Watermelon Wheat from Adopted Dog Brewery out of Lafayette.  Mike shares a recap of the Louisiana Summer Night Ultra in Lafayette from Second Growth Running.  Brad's summer adventures up north with his old Tech Track Buddies is discussed.  Mike spills the beans on an almost race, in the Kisatchie, and proposes an interesting idea for a "fatass."  Brad's physical issues with having been born with a "high ass" and the financial books are open (for all to see) on the Old School @ Lincoln Parish Park 2023. (Of course, TOS is not an Ultra and costs associated with the production of it are not quite the same as an Ultra)  *mandatory disclaimer

Beer review of a Lager from Cypress Coast in Baton Rouge.  Fawn Hernandez from Second Growth Running drops in to tell us about Red Dirt Ultra, her upcoming race- A Louisiana Summer's Night and much, much more.

The beer is Jucifer from Gnarly Barley.  Casey speaks about his Unique Ultra, The New Orleans Ultramarathon.  He also talks about Lazy Hound Racing and the trail scene around New Orleans.  We try and convince him to pick up another out-of-town ultra.  Michael fails a Kentucky Trivia test since Casey hails from Lexington.  We close with a bizarre Golden Retriever story.
