Brands are things that I never really thought about when I was younger. I knew and trusted certain brands based on some reputation that I subliminally learned from…somewhere. Sure I've set up non profits, I've represented businesses professionally around the world, I have been a part of a larger brand that someone worked hard to create. But as someone with zero marketing finesse, I was shocked when I was interviewing for a job internally years ago, and someone mentioned that I had a strong brand. Me? What does it mean to be a Mac Admin in the year of jobs 2025? Long gone are the days of having to explain that no, that isn't something that macs can integrate with. Instead we have all had to become experts in so many different silos within the modern IT organisation, from Identity, Security, Networking and Certificates. Being able to embrace and understand these concepts has also led to opportunities in career growth. Gone are the days where hoping for a small windowless room and the opportunity to get some new hardware to test once in a while was seen as a good deal.
