SmackDown was a strange show this week, folks. Some important developments, some dead spots, and one absolutely vicious closing angle with Gunther going completely off the rails. CM Punk opened the show as the new Undisputed WWE Champion, Cody Rhodes came out, and just like that we’ve got Punk vs. Cody official for SummerSlam. Big match? Absolutely. Logical process? That’s another story, because if Sami Zayn was the former champion, maybe he should be the one getting that rematch instead of Cody walking in and saying “SummerSlam.”Finn Balor beat Tama Tonga in a fine opener, the Bloodline business with Royce Keys had almost no life to it, Jade Cargill and the Baddies looked vicious again, and Baron Corbin got a great reaction returning to wreck Trick Williams and Carmelo Hayes. Then Gunther closed the show by assaulting Nick Aldis like a complete maniac when he didn’t get the answer he wanted.Overall, definitely not a bad SmackDown, but a very uneven one. The big angles mattered, the middle dragged, and Gunther absolutely stole the ending. TNA Impact gave us a very solid show this week. The Hardys retained the World Tag Team Titles in a fun opener, Moose had one of the strangest “King’s Speech” segments you’ll ever see, the Knockouts TV Title tournament kept rolling, and Ricky Sosa and Leon Slater continued to feel like two of the brightest young names in the company. That matters. A lot.KC Navarro also confronted Nic Nemeth and got more Nemeth family nonsense for his trouble, while the main event saw Xia Brookside and Léi Yǐng Lee go to war in a No DQ Knockouts World Title match that absolutely delivered. That was the big one. Really good match, violent enough to feel serious, and a strong way to close the show.Overall, this was an easy TNA to watch. AEW Dynamite: Beach Break gave us a very eventful show. Tommaso Ciampa beat Chris Jericho in a fun opener and then looked like a complete maniac afterward with a chair and a power drill. Kyle Fletcher beat Konosuke Takeshita for the AEW International Championship in a good match, even if the finisher spam was way too much for me. The Death Riders and Will Ospreay did their thing, Willow Nightingale came back in the Women’s Casino Gauntlet, and the main event saw Kenny Omega defeat MJF to become the new AEW World Champion.So yes, there were big moments. Big title changes. Big angles. But there were also the usual AEW frustrations — overkill, weird pacing, and some decisions that make you wonder if they’re giving away too much on TV instead of saving the biggest emotional payoffs for the biggest stage.Overall, definitely a newsworthy Beach Break. NXT gave us a pretty solid show this week, folks. Not everything worked, but there was enough good stuff here to come away feeling positive. The opening women’s segment was random in a way that did not really help anybody, but the in-ring side of the show delivered much better. The four-way tag No. 1 contender’s match was fun, Tank Ledger and Keanu Carver had a short hoss fight that did exactly what it needed to do, and the women’s North American Title contender four-way was one of the stronger parts of the night with Layla Diggs pulling off a real surprise.Tavion Heights and Myles Borne moving back toward being on the same page was a smart development, Shiloh Hill and Niko Vance was just kind of there, and Kendal Grey closed the show by retaining against Nattie in a good main event. Then Jaida Parker showed up after the bell and made sure people had another women’s issue to pay attention to before the show went off the air.Overall, decent NXT, some good shifts happening, and the women’s division especially keeps getting a lot of attention. Raw was a very eventful show, folks. Some good, some weird, some frustrating, and one huge title change at the end. Seth Rollins opened with a very long promo before LA Knight came out to save everybody from falling asleep. The Street Profits lost the World Tag Team Titles back to The Vision in a match that somehow became all about Austin Theory and Maxxine Dupri. Sol Ruca retained thanks to Iyo Sky causing chaos, Oba Femi and Paul Heyman gave us more Brock Lesnar hype, and Dragon Lee & Chad Gable had a fun tag match with more post-match destruction.Then we got the big one: Sami Zayn defending the Undisputed WWE Championship against CM Punk. Great match, big moment, and Punk wins the title. But let’s be honest, Sami’s reign lasting only 9 days is rough. Real rough. TNA Impact was a very solid show this week, folks. And what I liked most? It actually felt like the future of the company was on display. Ricky Sosa and Leon Slater looked important, the X-Division stayed active, the Knockouts title picture kept moving, and even with some notable names no longer in the mix, TNA still felt like it had direction. AEW Dynamite was a rough one, folks. Some bad matches, some cold segments, and a whole lot of stuff that just did not click. Death Riders vs. Mistico and Brodido did nothing for me, Harley Cameron vs. Marina Shafir was terrible, and way too much of this show felt like filler dressed up as big-time television. Kenny Omega vs. Tony Nese was a complete waste of time, and some of these Forbidden Door build segments still feel way less special than they should.There were a few bright spots. Queen Aminata vs. Red Velvet was fun, the post-match sequence with Swerve, Ospreay, and Daniel Garcia had real intensity, and the big closing brawl at least gave the show some life before the pay-per-view. Mark Briscoe brought energy, MJF brought the usual chaos, and the ending gave you one last push toward the cage match.Overall? Not a good Dynamite, but it did have a couple moments worth talking about. Aaron Rourke and Tristan Angels opened with a fun match, Saquon Shugars and Dion Lennox had a decent face-to-face even if it went a little too long, Hank & Tank brought the usual goofy fun, and Keanu Carver absolutely murdered a man after his match. Then things really picked up with Arianna Grace stealing one from Izzi Dame, Dorian Van Dux and Sean Legacy having a hell of a tag match, and The Culling completely falling apart when Niko Vance finally turned on Shawn Spears.Then the closing angle gave us Tony D’Angelo returning, Naraku causing chaos, Mason Rook wanting another shot, Jackson Drake stirring the pot, and the Great American Bash title match staying alive. Overall, a good NXT. Some silly stuff, some strong wrestling, and a lot of movement heading into the weekend. Raw was a solid show this week. Not perfect, but definitely a thumbs-up episode with a strong main event, a good opening segment, and a few angles that actually moved things forward. Oba Femi and Jey Uso opened the show to hype up the King of the Ring Final, and while the entrances dragged a little, the confrontation still did its job. Brie Bella and Paige retained the Women’s Tag Team Titles before Lyra Valkyria shocked everybody by turning on Bayley. Chad Gable tried to apologize to Alpha Academy, but that did not go the way he wanted. Dragon Lee and Ethan Page had a good match, Iyo Sky and Liv Morgan kept their Queen of the Ring issue hot, LA Knight got a win in Bloodline chaos, and The Street Profits won the World Tag Team Titles back in a very strong match.Overall, easy show to watch, good pacing, and some genuinely fun stuff. SmackDown was a strong show, folks. A lot happening, a lot of drama, and some very important developments. Cody Rhodes and Gunther had a fun title match with Sami Zayn as guest referee, but of course Sami completely lost his mind and turned the whole thing into chaos. Ricky Saints and Carmelo Hayes delivered again, Jey Uso beat Je’Von Evans to move on to the King of the Ring Final, and Liv Morgan vs. Charlotte Flair gave us a main event with real story and real stakes.This show had good wrestling, strong angles, and one of the more interesting Sami Zayn developments in a long time. I didn’t agree with every result, especially Jey winning again, but overall this was a very enjoyable SmackDown. TNA Impact gave us a solid show this week with some good energy, a hot opening segment, a fun six-man tag, and a strong main event. Xia Brookside opened the show getting showered with boos after turning on Lei Ying Lee, and the brawl that followed did a very nice job heating up their Slammiversary match. Mike Santana, Nic Nemeth, and KC Navarro teamed up against Mustafa Ali and Order 4 in a fun opener, but of course the real story was the post-match chaos that pushed Santana and Nemeth even further toward war.We also got The King’s Speech setting up more Slammiversary drama in the X-Division scene, Ricky Sosa picking up a nice win, Indi Hartwell battling Elayna Black, and a good main event with The Hardys and Moose against The System. Then Santana came back out at the end to call Nic Nemeth exactly what he thinks he is, and the crowd was more than happy to join in.Overall, enjoyable show, easy watch, good Slammiversary build. AEW Dynamite was a very mixed show, folks. Some very good stuff, some total nonsense, and one absolutely tremendous face-to-face between Will Ospreay and Swerve Strickland that did a lot of heavy lifting for the whole night. Kenny Omega vs. Tony Nese was a complete waste of time, the Omega and Zack Sabre Jr. interaction should have been much bigger, and that giant Team MJF vs. Team Briscoe match gave away way too much of the same chaos we’re supposed to pay to see later.But credit where it’s due: Death Riders vs. Brodido was fun, Mercedes Moné vs. Hazuki was very strong, and Ospreay vs. Swerve on the microphone was the kind of serious, heated segment AEW needs a lot more of. That was the standout. Big-time energy, real stakes, and two guys sounding like stars.Overall, not a bad show, but definitely one of those Dynamites where the best parts made the weaker parts more frustrating. NXT gave us a strong show this week, especially when it came to the women’s division. Zaria opened the night as the new NXT Women’s North American Champion and finally felt like a real deal player, not somebody standing in somebody else’s shadow. The opening segment was the usual parade of interruptions, but it did set up a very good main event. Tavion Heights got a solid win, Thea Hail and Izzi Dame had a fun Speed tournament match, Arianna Grace kept being one of the sneakiest heels on the show, and Nattie Neidhart vs. Jaida Parker absolutely delivered.Then the main event gave us Kelani Jordan & Zaria vs. Lola Vice & Kendal Grey, and Lola pinning Zaria made a very clear statement about who still runs the top of this division. Overall, this was a very enjoyable NXT. SmackDown was a very strong show this week. Not perfect, but very easy to watch and loaded with things that actually mattered. Charlotte Flair, Jade Cargill, Sol Ruca, and Lyra Valkyria tore it up in an excellent Queen of the Ring four-way. Sami Zayn and Cody Rhodes delivered one of the best promo segments in weeks with Sami trying to “clear the air” and Cody absolutely cutting him to pieces. Rey Fenix vs. Axiom was a good match and it was genuinely cool seeing the AAA Cruiserweight Championship defended on WWE television. Trick Williams kept the U.S. Title scene moving, and the main event King of the Ring four-way was excellent, even if Jey Uso winning again may not be everybody’s favorite choice.Overall, this was a very enjoyable SmackDown. TNA Impact gave us a very solid show this week. Mike Santana survived Eric Young in the opening World Title match, Nic Nemeth teased the cash-in drama again, Mustafa Ali retained in the main event, and Slammiversary got a whole lot more loaded by the end of the night. There was also a strong tag match with The System, Moose stepping back into the mix, and the Hardys/Righteous/System title situation getting the full ladder match treatment.Not everything worked for me. The Elijah and Mr. Elegance segment was complete nonsense, the fake “surprise” of Nemeth challenging Santana for a match we already knew was happening was a little ridiculous, and TNA still has a habit of making things more chaotic than they need to be. But overall? AEW Dynamite Summer Blockbuster was one of those shows that had some good things on it, but also a whole lot of stuff that made you ask, “What exactly are we doing here?” The Tommaso Ciampa and Chris Jericho segment felt way too sports-entertainment for a company that loves telling us it’s the sports-based alternative. Jon Moxley vs. Shane Taylor for the Continental Title was a complete drag, PAC vs. Mark Briscoe did very little for me, and Orange Cassidy vs. Andrade was another match that just kind of sat there.There were some positives. The surprise in the Women’s Owen tournament was interesting, and Swerve Strickland vs. Brody King was a good main event that at least gave the show a strong finish. But overall, this was a mixed bag at best. NXT was a mixed bag this week, but there was definitely some good stuff on the show. Fraxiom opened with a strong tag match, Mason Rook and Naraku had a very good number one contender’s match, Kendal Grey scored a big win to earn an NXT Women’s Title shot, and Zaria finally did what needed to be done by winning the NXT Women’s North American Championship. That part? Very good. Very needed.But then you had the Mr. NXT Pageant nonsense, and that was exactly the kind of goofy stuff that drags a show down when it could have just been a simple angle or a fight. Jasper Troy and Dion Lennox was just kind of there, and the pageant skits were flat-out stupid.So overall, not a bad NXT, but definitely one of those shows where the good and the dumb were fighting for screen time. Huge stakes. Huge names. Very intense.Then we head to AAA Noches de Los Grandes Night 2, where Lince Dorado won a wild fatal five-way to become the new #1 contender to the AAA World Cruiserweight Championship, and Bayley, La Catalina, and Lola Vice defeated Las Tóxicas in a big trios match. Tremendous lucha action. SmackDown was a decent show this week. Not an all-time classic, not a “drop everything and watch it immediately” kind of episode, but definitely enjoyable. Gunther opened the show demanding justice after his loss to Cody Rhodes, Cody fired back, and Sami Zayn made the whole situation even messier. Raquel Rodriguez advanced in the Queen of the Ring, Rhea Ripley addressed Clash in Italy, Jade Cargill picked up another win in tag action, Ricky Saints stole one from Carmelo Hayes, Lash Legend handled Chelsea Green, and the main event gave us the result people are going to be talking about: Dominik Mysterio moving on to the King of the Ring semifinals.That’s right. Dirty Dom keeps finding ways to win, and now he’s got Oba Femi waiting for him. Overall, I liked this show. AEW Dynamite had some good wrestling, some big names, and also some of the usual problems that keep holding this show back. Mark Briscoe beat Lio Rush and then cut a very emotional promo calling out MJF. Thekla, Julia Hart, and Skye Blue had one of the most talked-about segments of the night with a very aggressive message aimed at Stardom. Andrade had a total nothing match, Kevin Knight retained the TNT Title over Speedball Mike Bailey in a fun one, Mercedes Mone returned in the Women’s Owen tournament, and Will Ospreay beat Mark Davis in a match that got way too messy for its own good.Overall? Entertaining show, but also a frustrating one. AEW keeps giving you flashes of something great, then undercuts it with rushed builds, random segments, or overbooked finishes. NXT gave us a pretty fun, easy-to-watch show this week. Nothing dragged too badly, there was solid match variety, and the show moved at a good pace. Zaria opened things with a strong win over Lizzy Rain and, finally, this felt like the Zaria people have been waiting to see. OTM and The Culling had a fun tag match, Jackson Drake kept the momentum going, Lola Vice set up her next challenger situation, Dark State got a needed win, and Tony D’Angelo retained the NXT Championship in a solid main event.Not everything was great. Lexis King vs. Romeo Moreno for the NXT Speed Championship was pretty dull and definitely not the best showcase for that division. Raw from Turin was a very entertaining show. The crowd was tremendous, the pacing was strong, and nothing on this show felt like a complete waste of time. Roman Reigns opened things with Acknowledgement Day, Jacob Fatu did what he said he’d do, and while the segment was perfectly fine, I’ve got real concerns about WWE going right back to Bloodline business again. Oba Femi was unbelievably over in that King of the Ring fatal four-way, Sol Ruca had her standard babyface champion moment, Rey Mysterio and Dragon Lee got a nice win, IYO SKY advanced in the Queen of the Ring, and Seth Rollins vs. Bron Breakker absolutely delivered in the main event.Overall, this was a strong Raw. AEW Dynamite on 5/27/26 was a fun show overall, folks. Not a perfect show, not some all-time masterpiece, but a fun show with some fresh movement in a few divisions. The men’s tag division got a real jolt, the Owen Hart matches delivered, MJF got his big ego celebration, and Kevin Knight kicked things off trying to explain himself in a promo segment that did nobody any favors.Jericho beat Ricochet in a fun opener, Rush won a four-way that was basically just a bunch of moves, MJF celebrated becoming a three-time AEW World Champion before Mark Briscoe and Rush got involved, Brody King and Claudio beat each other up in a hard-hitting tournament match, and Cope & Cage finally got crashed into a new, fresh feud with The Dogs looking dangerous for once. That was smart booking. Very smart.The big negative? The women got almost nothing. One short TayJay squash and that’s basically it. No women’s Owen matches, barely any time, no real focus. WWE NXT on 5/26/26 was a very solid show, folks. Not a perfect show, not some all-time classic, but a very watchable developmental show with some strong ideas, a few good matches, and one very clear standout: Kelani Jordan looked tremendous. Brutal, mean, different — exactly what she needs to be. That finish over Wren Sinclair was excellent and it got over the way it was supposed to.You also had Darkstate trying to explain their internal mess, Sean Legacy and Dorian Van Dux wrestling to a time-limit draw in the Speed tournament, Jaida Parker picking up a win, Tony D’Angelo getting confronted by multiple challengers, Nathan Frazer and Romeo Moreno having a really fun tournament final, Shiloh Hill continuing whatever strange thing he’s doing, and Lola Vice retaining the NXT Women’s Championship in a good main event against Izzi Dame.In this review, I break down every match and every segment, what worked, what didn’t, and why NXT continues to get a little extra grace because it’s developmental — but still needs to tighten a few things up. WWE RAW on 5/25/26 had some big names, some big talking segments, and yet somehow the whole thing felt strangely flat. That’s the story, folks. WWE NXT on 5/19/26 was a very strong show, a very exciting show, and frankly, a lot of people are saying one of the better NXT episodes in quite some time. You had Tony D’Angelo and Myles Borne opening things up against Mason Rook and Cam Hendrix in a good tag match, the women’s division erupting into total chaos around Lola Vice, Tatum Paxley retaining and then getting destroyed by Zaria, and a big angle with Mason Rook laying out Hendrix later in the night.Then the main event scene in the tag division gave us real drama. The Vanity Project retained, but the bigger story was Darkstate completely imploding and Saquon Shugars getting destroyed by his own people in a brutal post-match beatdown.
