Mando Hangout Top 20 Folk Songs

Yes, the classic sea song you&#39ve heard before. I worked up this arrangement for the Russian-American-British sea shanty group I&#39ve been playing with. Though I can barely manage 3-finger chords in a couple of keys, I&#39ve been adding mandolin to some of our tunes. In this case the bluegrass chop of my F-hole F-style really adds some nice rollicking energy. I think.

I had recently learned these two tunes and liked them. During practice I ran the two tunes together and thought they would work as a medley. I could point out a lot of warts in the recording but then again I am never satisfied with what I do. So here it is warts and all. Hope everyone enjoys the tunes.

My wife and I did a multitrack vocal on this traditional hymn. I just played the rhythm parts. This is a rough draft and we plan to add mando and fiddle soon.

Thought I&#39d start out the New Year by recording a medley of some old, but timeless gospel hymns. Played on my Loar LM-400 mandolin, of course.
