David Seymour: ACT Party leader on former broadcaster Paul Henry confirming he'll run for the party in the 2026 election
ACT leader David Seymour is welcoming former broadcaster Paul Henry's expression of interest in joining up with the party. Henry revealed this morning he'll be running as a list candidate for ACT, with Seymour promising he'll be placed at an electable position. Henry stood for National in 1999, but is best known for hosting TVNZ's Breakfast in the mid-2000's. Seymour says Henry is a 'serious and thoughtful' person outside of his public image, with genuine concerns about the country. "We're thrilled to have him on board, both for his presence, his energy, his communication, his infectious enthusiasm, all of those things are awesome." Brad Olsen: Infometrics Principal Economist on the Reserve Bank increasing the OCR by 25 basis points
The Reserve Bank has lifted the Official Cash Rate for the first time in more than three years. It's raised the OCR 25 basis points to 2.5 percent. The Monetary Policy Committee's six members all agreed to raise the cash rate - despite divided opinions from economists. Infometrics Principal Economist Brad Olsen says the Reserve Bank will be looking to get the OCR down to a more 'normal' level - and this increase is the first step. Carl Taylor: Combined Building Supplies CEO on the impacts of the new home warranty rules

Peter Huskinson: Bowel Cancer NZ CEO talks 'poo with a view' campaign
June is Bowel Cancer Awareness Month, and Bowel Cancer New Zealand has launched an unusual competition. The 'poo with a view' campaign encourages people to learn the signs and symptoms of bowel cancer and complete a quick online symptom checker. Those that take the symptom checker quiz at poowithaview.org.nz will go in the draw to win a poo with one of the best views in New Zealand. Bowel Cancer NZ CEO Peter Huskinson joined Matt and Tyler to chat about the campaign. Huskinson emphasised the life-saving importance of spreading information about the disease, "I mean the key thing to realise is that bowel cancer, what they call early onset bowel cancer, which is cancer, bowel cancer in people in their 20s, 30s, and 40s, is actually the number one cause of cancer death in New Zealand." David Seymour: ACT announces policy targeting rural crime
ACT has announced a new policy to tackle rural crime by introducing a Police text service, delivering harsher punishments, and creating a specified rural police force. ACT leader David Seymour told Matt and Tyler that rural crime needs to be understood as a form of organised crime. "A lot of urban people probably think it's a bit of a joke that your cows could get stolen, but if your cows are your livelihood and cattle rustling does happen, it's not the wild west but it does happen, then that's a real problem," Seymour said.
