Episodes

  1. 1 2 3 4 - Feist [Cover - New]

My grandma told me she loves this song.

  2. Always Learning

I think I wrote this in the shower last year. Who knows.

  3. Okay

I wrote this song after the first (and only?) time I was ever broken up with. I realized later that I was much happier on my own, but at the time I was just trying to make sense of that new, strange feeling—the feeling of not being wanted.

  4. Simplify [Cover - Simplified] - Marina & The Diamonds

I absolutely love this song. I tried simplifying it even more, and guess what? It worked. This song has room enough in it for both belting and playing a single key at a time. I know; I tested it.

  5. Ties Are Weak

I wrote this song about my friend and a guy he was dating. It's not clear to me if this is about the way I felt about one or both of them, or if I was trying to guess how they felt, or what. Anyway, it's a hell of a fun song to sing, but I hate listening to it.

  6. Medication

I've made few really cool changes to this song since I recorded this. There's, like, slides and shit. For real. Plus, I once played this song on ukulele on a beach in Florida. That was so boogie.

  7. Tomorrow

This has always been the one of my songs that people seem to like best, and I can't for the life of me figure out why. It's good, I guess, but it's just definitely not my favorite. Plus, I'm shit at the guitar. Huh. (image by CubeArms)

  8. Overwater

I wrote this song late one night while I was visiting my parents. First I wrote all the words in my head while lying in the guest bed. Then I crept out of bed and downstairs to the piano and very quietly wrote this song, one nearly silent key at a time, in the middle of the night.

  9. Sneak

Just randomly made this one day, I think as a concept piece for the soundtrack of a friend's short film

  10. Powerpuff

This, if you couldn't tell, is an abstract electronic cover of the theme to the Powerpuff Girls tv show. (image credit: uneekL4evr)

  11. Deserve You

    Deserve You by Maxwell Valentine

  12. Will Unbent

The things we love do not belong to us. To love properly, first we need trust. Then we need patience. If it is meant for us…it will come to us.

  13. Turn Off

    Turn Off by Maxwell Valentine

  14. Been Away

  15. Three Weeks

This song I wrote after breaking up with a couple I'd been dating. It was a complex situation and the ways in which our minds interleaved were psychologically and emotionally fascinating.

  16. Electricity

This is my best friend's favorite of all my songs. We tried recording it once at a studio but they did a shitty job and I had no clue how to record acoustic music. So, here's a lame demo I recorded on my phone instead!

  17. The Bus

This is just a ridiculous song I did while my friend rapped while we were stuck on a bus for 7 hours over Spring Break.

  18. Like The Shadows

  19. Scared To Hold

  20. Truth Unburdened

  21. In The Air

In The Air by Maxwell Valentine

  22. I'll Never Write Of Love

A few nights ago, I woke up abruptly in the middle of the night and this song just sort of poured out of me all at once.

  23. Rest Not In Sleep

Rest Not In Sleep by Maxwell Valentine

  24. Back To This

This was one of the songs in my portfolio from when I almost applied to a music composition program.

  25. Free

These are some songs I've written (in my head) and recorded (mostly on my phone)

  26. Instantly [Instrumental]

These are some songs I've written (in my head) and recorded (mostly on my phone)

  27. Instantly

These are some songs I've written (in my head) and recorded (mostly on my phone)

  28. I Crush Everything - Jonathan Coulton [Cover - Old]

This is an incredibly well-written song about an giant squid, if I'm not mistaken. Jonathan Coulton is in my opinion one of the most incredible songwriters out there. He's goofy and funny at the same time he's hitting me somewhere deep and real. He can write a song about a anything and it could...

  29. 1 2 3 4 - Feist [Cover - Old]

These are a few of the songs I've felt passionately enough about to have covered in the last few years

  30. Over Me (Short)

Original song written May 2010 on guitar

  31. Owl City Mashup

IDKWhy, but GarageBand files always lose their dynamic volume settings when I convert them to mp3 or AAC, hence why this sounds so off in some parts on the levels of various instruments.

  32. Build God, Then We'll Talk (Cover—Long)

Just an extended version, I suppose. more tranceys!

  33. Build God, Then We'll Talk (Cover)

This is by far my favorite cover yet. Fun and dance-music-y, which is weird cuz I don't normally like dance music. Maybe trancey? IDK

  34. Don't Stop Believin' (Cover)

My favorite GarageBand creation yet! I like this one. A lot.

  35. Babies!

    Messin' around on Everyday Looper…again!

  36. Evil Laugh (Short)

I was just messin' around on Everyday Looper!

  37. Evil Laugh

I took my loop and made some crazy stuff happen in GarageBand until I wanted to kill it.

  38. The Further I Slide (Cover)

This is a remixy/covery thing i did of The Further I Slide by Badly Drawn Boy with GarageBand. I have a feeling I'm getting better at this thing. ;)

  39. Forget You, Girl

My fifth(?) GarageBand attempt. I can't believe I ever used to sound like this. Thank god for puberty, right?

  40. James Bond Theme

My third go at GarageBand. This one's not original, obviously, but quite fun and an interestingly snooze-inducing cover. d=(^^)=b (Maybe that'll be my thing—not thinking I'm good enough...like a gimmick.)

  41. Oh, Damn!

A fourth GarageBand attempt. This is just me goofing off with some loops I'd already made on my iPhone. It was a lot more fun to make than it is to listen to.

  42. Chemistry

My SECOND go at GarageBand. A little better, I think, but still rather poorly done. I do really love the song itself, though, as a composition. But it's been almost a decade and I STILL haven't finished writing it.
