We are a group of Petty Officers from the Portuguese Navy that are attending an English Course. The purpose of creating this Podcast is to share our Naval way of life.Our group is composed of ten elements, seven from Logistics, symbolized by a Seahorse, two from Mecanist’s Mate, symbolized by a propeller and one Torpedoman’s Mate, symbolized by a torpedo.Our Podcast was named after our rates’ symbols.

    Hi. My name is Sónia, I’m 27 years old. I join the Navy in 1997, and I’m still here. I’m a machinist’s mate and my rank is petty officer 3rd class. Yes I work with machines. In all these years I’ve travelled a lot. I was in two warships, for long periods of time. If you want to know more about my experience in a Navy, I’ll enjoy to tell you about it.

    Hello, my name is Ricardo Prates and I’m a Petty Officer 3rd Class. I’ve been in the Portuguese Navy since 1999 and my rate is Machinist’s Mate. Since then, I’ve been on different ships: a Corvette and on two Hydrographic Ships. On board these ships I take care of engines and their auxiliaries equipments. If you want to known more about my experience, you can ask about it.

     Hello and welcome; My name’s Mendes and I’m 42 years old. I’m a petty office second class of the Portuguese Navy and my rate is Torpedoman’s mate. My greatest experience is the submarines where I spend twelve years of my military life. Since 1985 I have enjoyed the Portuguese Navy because I love the sea, the ships and to traveller. If you want to know something more about me or my experience don’t be shy. I hope you like this pod cast and I can help you to satisfy your curiosity. I’m waiting for your questions. See you.

    Greetings from a portuguese sailor

    Hi, my name is Miguel Ferreira and I have been in the Navy since 1990. I was 19 years old when I joined in the Navy. My rate is logistics and my rank at the time is Petty Officer. During these years, I have been in some naval units, like a school, a corvette "João Roby" and the Navy Hospital.
