STANG GANG SOFTBALL PODCAST with Kae Lani Bryan (April 30, 2026)
This week's Stang Gang Podcast features the latest news surrounding Midwestern State Softball with head coach Kae Lani Bryan. Midwestern State is hosting the final four games of the regular season as Sul Ross State and Western New Mexico visit Mustangs Park. There was a change to the schedule made early in the week in hopes of avoiding adverse weather conditions. Sul Ross State visits on Saturday for a doubleheader that starts at 2 p.m., and the season ends on Monday with Western New Mexico at Mustangs Park for a twin bill that begins at noon. The Mustangs celebrate Senior Day on Saturday and recognize the contributions made to the Midwestern State softball program by four seniors: Hayeli Acosta, Madison Stewart, Tatum Waller and Marisela Landa.

Midwestern State split a doubleheader with UT Dallas last weekend, and the offense continues to show signs of life entering a four-game homestand. The Mustangs host Texas A&M International and Texas A&M-Kingsville this week. The Dustdevils will face the Mustangs under the lights on Friday with a doubleheader that gets underway at 5 p.m. Sunday is Alumni Day at Mustangs Park as the Javelinas pay a visit. The Sunday matinee doubleheader starts at 1 p.m.

Find out what's happening with Midwestern State Women's Basketball during this week's Stang Gang Podcast, featuring head coach Drew Coffman. Midwestern State is starting a new era in women’s college basketball with recently hired head Drew Coffman, who is no stranger to Midwestern State. Coffman played basketball at MSU in the 2006-07 season, and the senior from Midland, Texas, played more than 32 minutes a game and averaged more than 17 points per game. Coffman is the 13th head coach in the history of Midwestern State women's basketball. He coached the Decatur girls' basketball team to back-to-back Class 4A state championships in each of the past two seasons, and he’s eager to meet the challenge at his alma mater.

Midwestern State head men's and women's tennis coach Luis Diaz discusses the challenges his teams face week-in and week-out, and the on-court battles throughout the course of the season. Both the men and women’s tennis teams at Midwestern State are top-30 in the ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings as the Mustangs enter the heart of the conference campaign. The next four dual matches are all on the road before the teams return to MSU Tennis Center on April 24 to face Western New Mexico. This week the Stangs square off against UT Dallas and UT Tyler. Both teams appear to be hitting their stride with some outstanding individual performances in recent duals.

This week's Stang Gang Podcast features the latest news surrounding Midwestern State Softball with head coach Kae Lani Bryan. Midwestern State is in the midst of a 10-day stretch between games after hosting No. 13-ranked Oklahoma Christian at Mustangs Park last week. MSU takes a trip to the Metroplex on Sunday for its first-ever encounter with UT Dallas. The Mustangs are battling through some injuries to key personnel but looking for the bright spots in a building year for their first-year head coach. The team is celebrating small victories over the course of their 2026 journey, which has not gone as planned, but that’s allowed the girls to learn some valuable life lessons through softball.

Midwestern State returns home after 26 days and 10 games away from Mustangs Park to face Eastern New Mexico on Friday in a doubleheader that begins at 2 p.m., and mighty West Texas A&M, ranked No. 1 in the nation, visits the Mustangs on Sunday for a twin bill that gets underway at 3 p.m. While there are many reasons to be encouraged by what is happening with the MSU softball program, wins have been elusive. The coaching staff is hoping that the players begin to see the fruit of their labor.

This week's Stang Gang Podcast features the latest news surrounding Midwestern State Softball with head coach Kae Lani Bryan. Midwestern State's offense came to life on Sunday, scoring 11 runs on 12 hits in an eight-run victory at St. Edward's. A number of players in the lineup are beginning to make consistent contributions as the team continues to improve. The Mustangs are wrapping up a 10-game road trip on Saturday with a doubleheader at Lubbock Christian. Time on the road has had a positive effect on the team, and the Stang Gang showed up en masse at St. Mary's and St. Edward's to support the ball club last weekend.

Midwestern State head men's and women's tennis coach Luis Diaz discusses the challenges his teams face week-in and week-out, and the on-court battles throughout the course of the season. The tennis season is off to a good start for the both the men and the women. The Midwestern State women are No. 5 in the ITA Collegiate Rankings, and the men are No. 26. The women's team has some new faces after the team reached the national semifinals last season with a veteran group. Selin Sepken, a senior transfer from Idaho, has stepped in and posted impressive results at No. 1 singles for the Mustangs. Sepken is ranked No. 3 in singles. Germano Setti is ranked No. 7 in men's singles and is leading the Mustangs in 2026. Setti is 5-1 at No. 1 singles, and he is playing doubles with newcomer Matthew Earle. The duo has won six of their first seven matches in the dual-match season.
