    15 Years of Milan Obsession

Milan Obsession has reached an impressive milestone: It has been 15 years since this blog was created, and this podcast is also 13 years old. In a full circle moment, Allegri is back at the club, and if it is to become a complete circle, then we should be winning the Scudetto this season (but don't hold your breath on that one, the AIA are beyond corrupt.) Instead of just having a guest or two, I took a trip down memory lane and found a clip from each year of the podcast that also chronicles Milan's history during that time, and shared a little bit about my own personal journey and presented a new challenge for the next 15 years. On this Episode:  • Background of Milan Obsession   Guest clips: 2013: Episode 1 "Happy Birthday Milan Obsession!" with Jovan 🇲🇪 2014: Episode 27 "Happy 3rd Birthday Milan Obsession" with Francesco 🇦🇷 and Derek 🇺🇸 2015: Episode 60 "Mission Possible" with Kristian 🇳🇴 2016: Episode 77 "Montella Time" with Vinny 🇨🇦 2017: Episode 155 "Still Looking for Answers" with Susy 🇬🇧 2018: Episode 116 "Return of the King" with Ricardo 🇺🇸 2019: Episode 141 "Milan in USA" with Jesús 🇺🇸 2020: Episode 154 "Chat with Asmir Begović" with Asmir 🇧🇦 2020: Episode 182 "The Golden Age of Serie A" with Jonathan 🇬🇧 2021: Episode 202 "Are Milan a Dark Horse This Season?" with Glenn 🇦🇺 2022: Episode 217 "Beautiful Mayhem" with Frankie 🇬🇧 2023: Episode 224 "The 10th Anniversary Episode" with Massimo 🇺🇸 and Sofia 🇺🇸 2024: Episode 234 "Season Preview: Fonseca Season" with Pete 🇺🇸 2025: Episode 235 "Epic Celebration Anniversary Edition" with Christina 🇺🇸   • My Personal Journey • The Three Reasons Milan Obsession was formed • Clip from Episode 230 "Girls at the Milan Game" with Sofia • The next 15 year challenge   Truly, thank you to every single person who has read this blog, written a guest post, participated in the comment section, listened to the podcast, or been a guest on the podcast. This 15 year personal journey has become a worldwide Milan journey, and it would be really strange without all of you. I truly treasure all of the friends I have made throughout the years. Milan's Reality Show

This season has been filled with so much drama, it feels like a reality show. Huge wins, painful losses, changes in players and managers, and now there is a search for Milan's Next Top Sporting Director. To sort all this out, I invited Paul, the President of the Milan Club Adelaide, to tell us what it is like to be a Milan fan in Australia, and what it was like to have the club come to Australia last summer, including that amazing coreo, (spoiler alert: we find out who the awesome Zia was who was sewing the coreo!!) We also spent plenty of time discussing everything happening at the club right now, including the first team, Conceição, Milan Futuro, Milan Primavera, and the management. On this Episode:  • Milan Origin Story • Milan Club Adelaide • Milan in Australia • Injury Update • First Team Recent Matches • Comparing Coaches • Milan Futuro Update • Milan Primavera Update • Milan's Next Top Sporting Director • Upcoming Matches Thanks once again to Paul, for telling us all about Milan Club Adelaide, the adventures of Milan in Australia, and talking about everything going on at Milan now, too. Please follow Paul on Instagram, follow Milan Club Adelaide on Instagram and Facebook, check out the club's website milanclubadelaide.com.au and also follow Milanisti Down Under to get the news on their upcoming podcasts, too. Crisis Intervention Training

This is a really tough time to be a Milan fan. With the effects of poor management decisions growing exponentially, and the fans getting angrier and angrier, it is difficult to remain calm when results are poor. Like crashing out of the Champions League. Or losing our game in hand, effectively ending our chances for Champions League qualification for next year. Or losing to Lazio at home after going down to ten men. Thankfully, my fellow Milanista Søren was willing to join me to help process some of the things happening at the club and provide some crisis intervention training for our fellow Milan fans.   On this Episode:  • News of the Week • First Team Recent Matches • Milan Futuro Update • Milan Primavera Update • Crisis Milan • Upcoming Matches   Mange tak once again to my future fellow countryman, Søren, for helping us figure out how to cope in this time of Milan crisis.  You can find Elaine on BlueSky, Instagram, Threads, and Twitter to keep up with news and new posts or generally find out if she is surviving Milan's crisis or not.

    Epic Celebration Anniversary Edition

A lot can happen in 14 years. Since the Milan Obsession blog was founded 14 years ago, Milan have changed owners three times, had eleven different managers, won two Scudetti and two Supercoppa trophies. I've seen a lot. This podcast is now 12 years old, and even though I am not able to record regularly, I had to make sure I marked this momentous occasion by bringing on a new guest who was worthy of such a massive milestone. So luckily, Christina was kind enough to join me to talk about her Milan origin story, the January transfers, recent matches, Conceição and more.   On this Episode: • Milan Origin Story • Transfer News • Milan Futuro Transfers • Recent Matches • Milan Futuro Recap • Milan Primavera Recap • Conceição. Discuss. • Upcoming Matches   Thanks you once again to Christina for sharing her Milan origin story and her thoughts about the current state of Milan. Please give her a follow on BlueSky @c0la.sedici.me Thank you also to all those who have read, listened, been a guest, commented, followed on social media or otherwise participated in the Milan Obsession sphere for the past 14 years. Let's hope the next 14 are even better for Milan!   You can find Elaine on social media to keep up with news and new posts or generally find out if Milan has killed her yet or not. @milanobsession.bsky.social on BlueSky @themilanobsession on Instagram @themilanobsession on Threads @milanobsession on Twitter

    Season Preview: Fonseca Season

This summer has been yet another summer of major changes at the club, with a number of new managers and even a new U23 team, Milan Futuro. Obviously, Pete was the perfect guest to help catch us up with everything that happened and discuss what lies ahead. We covered the players in and out this summer, briefly discussed the summer friendlies, and then gave our thoughts on Fonseca, his new tactics, the young players, and the transfers so far, as well as when you can see the upcoming matches for the various teams.   On this Episode:  • News of the Summer   • Mercato to Date   • Player Number Changes   • Milan Friendlies Recap   • Paulo Fonseca First Impressions   • Assessing Milan's Mercato   • Upcoming Matches     Thanks once again to Pete for helping preview the new season and discuss all things Milan, Milan Futuro, and Milan Primavera. The State of Milan

While people have been assessing the state of things, I asked longtime guest of the podcast Pete to return and discuss the current state of Milan. On the State of Pioli, we also had a rebuttal from Katie Britt of Alabama (bet y'all didn't know she was a Milan fan.) But mostly, we discussed the recent Milan matches, Pioli's tenuous position at the club, the possibility of summer transfers and even the latest scandal to hit Milan (or at least what the media wants us to think is a scandal.)   On this Episode:  • The State of Pioli • Katie Britt's rebuttal to the State of Pioli • Verona-Milan match • Slavia-Praha match • Europa League Draw • Potential summer exits • Offices at Casa Milan raided Thanks to Pete for joining me once again for a great discussion on the current state of Milan. Can Milan's Injury Crisis Be Solved?

The catastrophic injury crisis at the club right now is so severe that I actually recorded a podcast about it. And I honestly don't know which of those things is more shocking or distressing. However, I did not take my task lightly, I wanted to talk to someone with some expertise. So I invited David back, who is a lifelong Milan fan, but is also a brilliant physiotherapist by trade. Longtime podcast listeners will remember him well, but will also appreciate his knowledge about this specific conversation as we discuss injuries, Pioli and his staff, current management, the return of Ibrahimovi·, and more. On this Episode:  · Injuries, potential causes, and solutions · Pioli and the Sassuolo curse · Can the injury crisis be solved? · Current management · The return of Ibrahimovi·   David cited a report by Jan Ekstrand and UEFA on hamstring injuries, with input from the chief medical officers from 15 different Champions League clubs, if you would like to read it, you can find it here. If you are interested in the article we discussed from Milan News about fear of injuries, you can find it in Italian here.  Thank you again to David for sharing his wisdom, expertise and his passion for Milan. With Milan in the USA, I wanted to talk to someone who attended one of the friendlies, so I invited Sofia back on, since she attended Juventus-Milan with me. We caught up on the recent news, the transfers, then we talked about the earlier friendlies, as well as the team here in Los Angeles. To share his Milan Origin Story and help me recap everything that is happening at the Club, I invited fellow Los Angeles fan, Nolan for this podcast. The One About Maldini, Tonali, and Cardinale

After qualifying for the Champions League, Ibrahimović retired, Cardinale sacked Maldini and Massara, and everything has fallen apart for Milan. The last time we met Inter, it was our worst match of the season. Now, we meet in our biggest matches of the season in the Champions League semifinals. To help preview this match, and catch up on all things Milan, I had Boaz join me for this podcast. The Perfect Storm

Sometimes things, big things, happen in life that stand in the way of getting things done. Other times, everything just converges and creates the perfect storm. The first reason is why this episode is being published literally a week late. But the second was the point of our whole discussion. Milan have faced a perfect storm this season, and we needed some good luck, as well. To that end, last week, I invited Frankie to talk about everything that has contributed to Milan's bizarre form this season. The good news that one week later, we can see that his good luck is already working...  On this Episode:  • News • Italy in Europe • International Duty • Injury Update • March Matches • Primavera Wins • The Perfect Storm Thank you once again to Frankie for the fantastic conversation and being a good luck charm, as well as being patient while waiting for this episode to be edited. The 10th Anniversary Episode

This podcast has somehow survived for ten years... barely. And the blog has been around even longer, for twelve years, with over 2500 posts celebrating Milan. To celebrate these shocking accomplishments, I invited two very special guests on the show, my own Massimo and Sofia. They shared their Milan origin stories, we talked about news and recent matches, and then we shared some of my proudest, most epic moments as a Milan mom. On this Episode: • Milan Origin Stories • News of the Week • Injury Update • Recent Matches • Proud Milan Mom Stories A special thanks to all of those who have been guests on the podcasts, as well as all of those who listen.
