Me alegra estar de vuelta con ustedes una semana más para seguir compartiendo mis experiencias y pensamientos sobre la vida y la música. Para esta semana escogí una canción que tengo poco de haberla escuchado, mi esposo me la recomendó y pensé que para esta ocasión me va como anillo al dedo. Esta fecha dónde celebramos el día de la madre será agridulce para mí, les cuento que tengo 33 años y esta será la primera vez que no pase este día con mi mamá, ella emigró a Argentina con mis hermanos y la verdad trato de no pensar mucho en el tema para no hundirme en tristeza, por otra parte tengo la dicha de celebrar que Dios me ha regalado un hijo hermoso. Para mí fué difícil practicar esta canción sin que se me quebrara la voz pensando en su letra, definitivamente no tengo manera en cómo retribuir a mi madre todo lo que ha hecho por mi, es una mujer a la que admiro con todo mi corazón y ruego por volver abrazarla y verla una vez más. Me alegra estar de vuelta con ustedes una semana más para seguir compartiendo mis experiencias y pensamientos sobre la vida y la música. Que feliz me siento porque esta semana pude grabar las canciones que tenía planificado para subir a hive, aunque no todo marchó según lo planeado porque este cover en específico me tocó grabarlo sin energía eléctrica, justamente cuando estaba a punto de grabar se fué la electricidad, lejos de frustrarme y desistir, tomé la decisión de hacerlo con la linterna de mi celular, por eso no se vé tan bien como mis videos anteriores y por eso les pido disculpas, pero no quería perderme esta semana del hive Open mic porque encontré una canción que va muy bien con la temática. Un día a la vez es una canción que nos llama a tener paz y vivir el día a día con la esperanza puesta en Jesús, me gusta porque no niega la existencia y dificultades de la vida, sino que es una manera de no estar ansiosos por el futuro, pues la mayoría de las cosas que suceden no dependen de nosotros, y cuando logramos entender que debemos vivir el presente y las bendiciones que hoy tenemos, podemos descansar en la esperanza de un futuro mejor, suena más fácil decirlo que practicarlo, sin embargo es una canción que nos invita a reflexionar sobre esto. I’m so happy because this week I was able to record the songs I’d planned to upload to Hive, although not everything went according to plan—I had to record this particular cover without electricity. Just as I was about to start recording, the power went out. Instead of getting frustrated and giving up, I decided to do it using my phone’s flashlight. That’s why it doesn’t look as good as my previous videos, and I apologize for that, but I didn’t want to miss this week’s Hive Open Mic because I found a song that fits the theme perfectly. “One Day at a Time” is a song that calls us to find peace and live each day with our hope set on Jesus. Les cuento que he tenido una semana maravillosa, tenía mucho tiempo sin sentirme plena y en paz con todo a mi alrededor, aprecio estos momentos en los que puedo ordenar mis pensamientos y mi vida también, así que en medio de este orden también pude darle espacio a mis pasatiempos y por supuesto también le dediqué su momento a la música. Bien, estoy saliendo un poco de mi zona de confort, en esta oportunidad hago mi segundo video de la semana con la guitarra eléctrica de mi esposo pues a mi guitarra clásica se le partió una cuerda y pues hasta hoy fue que pude reponerla, lo bueno de toda esta situación es que le agarré el gusto a la guitarra eléctrica y probablemente seguiré experimentando un poco con ella. No suelo cantar en ingles, no es mi fuerte y a veces tengo el tiempo muy limitado para practicar mis canciones, si a eso le sumamos mi pésima memoria para letras la verdad es todo un reto para mí y que de vez en cuando me gusta tomarlo así le dedique más tiempo para concretar mi presentación. Creo que la canción que escogí se prestó para hacer de esta experiencia algo más fácil y llevadera, pues te queda clavado en la mente con su melodía y su profundidad, puedo decir que es una canción enigmatica. This time, I’m making my second video of the week using my husband’s electric guitar because a string on my classical guitar snapped, and I wasn’t able to replace it until today. The silver lining in all this is that I’ve really gotten into playing the electric guitar, and I’ll probably keep experimenting with it a bit. I don’t usually sing in English—it’s not my strong suit—and sometimes I have very limited time to practice my songs. Add to that my terrible memory for lyrics, and honestly, it’s quite a challenge for me. But every now and then I like to take it on, so I’m dedicating more time to it to polish my performance.I think the song I chose helped make this experience a little easier and more bearable, because its melody and depth really stick in your mind; I’d say it’s an enigmatic song. Si hay algo que he aprendido en la música es a ser versátil, tratar de aprender un poco de cada cosa para defenderme en momentos en los que las cosas no salen como yo espero. En esta oportunidad tuve que usar la guitarra eléctrica de mi esposo porque se me rompió una cuerda de mi guitarra acústica y no creo poder reponerla aún, aunque al principio parecía ser muy fácil, la realidad es que fué un poco incómodo acostumbrarme a su sonoridad y a su mastil que es más pequeño que mi guitarra, creo que es la tercera vez que toco la guitarra de mi esposo y les confieso que me gustó mucho en esta oportunidad porque me sentí más suelta y cómoda. En casa tenemos varios instrumentos y puedo decir que de todos sé lo básico para defenderme y créanme que en estos casos lo agradezco mucho porque además de resolver, voy acumulando experiencia. Hoy les regalo mi versión de este tema tan espectacular de la Quinta estación, sin querer el ritmo se prestó para tocarlo en la guitarra eléctrica. La música tiene ese gran poder de convertir un día de caos en un momento de desahogo, para los que disfrutamos de este arte sabemos que podemos liberar mucho estrés mientras hacemos música. Estas semanas han Sido caóticas, de esas en las que parece que todo conspira para hacernos estallar y en medio de mis ocupaciones pude detenerme un tiempo para solamente disfrutar de cantar, sin necesidad de ensayar para subir nada, o de practicar para una presentación,. solamente dejarme llevar por los acordes y recordar grandes temas que me encantan. En uno de esos días de refugio en la música recordé una canción que aunque no fué mi favorita de la Quinta estación, definitivamente merece toda la pena darle una oportunidad y en esta ocasión mi perspectiva cambió, pienso que desprecié un poco la belleza de este tema y me conecté de una manera muy profunda con esta canción. Su letra nos habla de un final anunciado, pienso que detrás de cada frase hay un grito de dolor, aunque se disfrace de aceptación y optimismo, considero que es un proceso, pero el primer paso es reconocer que esa relación ya no funciona, luego el tiempo irá haciendo de las suyas, pero la realidad es que al comienzo puede ser muy difícil lidiar con el fin de una relación amorosa. Amid my busy schedule, I managed to take a break just to enjoy singing, without needing to rehearse for an upload or practice for a performance. I just let myself get carried away by the chords and reminisce about the great songs I love. On one of those days of refuge in music, I remembered a song that, although it wasn’t my favorite by La Quinta Estación, is definitely worth giving a chance. And this time, my perspective changed; I think I had underestimated the beauty of this song a bit, and I connected with it in a very deep way. Estaba un poco desaparecida de la comunidad, la verdad es que quería subir mis tres entradas y eso se me ha complicado un poco, mi tiempo para grabar es más reducido ahora que no cuento con la ayuda de mi mamá, así que es difícil tener silencio en casa con mi hijo, afortunadamente esta semana mi esposo está de vacaciones y pude resolver mejor, además que mi hijo tampoco fué a la escuela y no tuve que pasar por todo el estrés de llevarlo y buscarlo a la escuela. Bueno, mis emociones y pensamientos en esta semana están entregados a las fechas que conmemoramos, no es que el resto del año no pienso en esto, sino que en esta fecha todo suele más intenso. Eligí una canción de adoración y entra profunda, es primera vez que la interpreto pues no había tenido la oportunidad de cantarla antes en ningún lugar. Plus, my son didn’t go to school, so I didn’t have to deal with the stress of taking him to and picking him up from school. Debo ser muy sincera y comentarles que fue hace unos pocos días que le presté atención a la letra de esta canción, no es que no la haya escuchado antes, sino que había pasado debajo de la mesa esta canción pensando que era una más del montón, pero estaba equivocada. Quizás estaba predispuesta porque no soy fan de Alejandra Guzmán, a pesar de que amo las canciones de Franco de Vita, no le dí el valor a esta hermosa canción. Es interesante como poco a poco te vas sumergiendo en una letra que expresa un profundo sentimiento de amor hacia otra persona, todas las cosas que esta logra hacer sentir, a medida que escuchaba cada frase sonreía porque me parece hermosa la idea de sentirse tan pleno con alguien, pero luego ese sentimiento parece encontrarse con una pared y una realidad muy distinta, me parece un poco desesperante Pero a la vez muy interesante este contraste de sentimientos pues no parece ser una canción de despecho. I have to be completely honest and tell you that it was only a few days ago that I really paid attention to the lyrics of this song. It’s not that I hadn’t heard it before, but I had let it slip by, thinking it was just another song in the mix—but I was wrong. Maybe I was biased because I’m not a fan of Alejandra Guzmán; even though I love Franco de Vita’s songs, I didn’t give this beautiful song the credit it deserved. It’s interesting how, little by little, you get immersed in lyrics that express a deep feeling of love for another person—all the things it makes you feel. Tenía tiempo practicando esta canción, pero el tono no me convencía mucho, así que en uno de mis ensayos pude hacer una variación de la melodía que me sirvió para cantar las estrofas que me quedaban muy graves, y aunque suena diferente a la original, me agradó el resultado así que quise finalmente sacarla a la luz. Recuerdo que hace algunos años este tema no era uno de mis favoritos, pensé que era un poco aburrida o sosa comparada con otras canciones de ella que si me encantaban, pero conforme pasaron los años me sentí muy identificada con la letra de esta canción y llegó a convertirse en un tema que me gusta mucho. En mi relación con Dios he entendido que su guía ha Sido fundamental para mí madurez y por puesto para levantarme de mis momentos más oscuros en la vida, el coro de esta canción me llega directo al corazón porque pienso en muchas ocasiones en que Dios me ha sostenido.
