Though this is outside of the previous trilogy, it stands to make it's own statement. Will it be for everyone? No, but for a particular audience, this will be an adventure.  Original Review: Throughout history, man has recorded events through writings, pictures, and any other means available. In ancient Egypt, they did so in hieroglyphics; all of their history was recorded and left for the world to see. That is, except for one particular detail. A single person, singled out and erased from history. What could this person have done to warrant this? You'll soon find out. Two military personnel are sent out on assignment, and they have a detour in mind that will take them on an adventure of a lifetime. What they find is beyond their wildest dreams. This discovery will alter the lives of all involved. Are they ready? Is the world? This mummy movie appears to be independent of the previous trilogy. In charting its own path, it comes across as an exhilarating adventure, all while making us laugh along the way. In this 3rd installment of the Mummy series, it goes a bit off topic but remains true to the story. It's an adventure that is still entertaining but as it tries to engage the audience with a different story, it does so in a way that will create a divide amongst fans.  Original Review: The O'Connell's are back again, only this time they're almost unrecognizable. It has been many years since we saw them last in their effort to save their son. Now he's all grown up and has taken after his dad in all of the wrong ways. As Rick and Evie attempt to get themselves back on track, they struggle with trying to even fathom the track that their son is on. His adventures go even further than those of his dad, considering all of Rick's adventures, that's truly saying something. There will be an unexpected assistant that will help him along the way but not before placing him in peril, to begin with. Once again, the story revolves around a mythical city that no one is supposed to know about, plus, a mythical fountain that is known around the world. What do these things have in common, that will reveal itself as the story is told. This third (3rd) installment in the Mummy series continues the story but in doing so it also disconnects itself with some obvious changes. Though not for everyone, it wraps the story up in an unconventional way. Will there be any more to come? Who knows, but knowing the O'Connell's... I have learned to never say never. The sequel to the 1999 The Mummy movie that captivated audiences around the world. Though this continues the story, it's a bit clunky at times. One is a daredevil and the other a scholar, yet together they bring a balance to one another. Last time we saw them, they barely escaped the mythical city of Hamunaptra with their lives. Now the stakes are higher than ever. Why? Because this time it's their son that's in peril. You see, his curiosity got the best of him, and now he is attached (literally) to an item that could change the world forever. The only hope is to get him to another mythical spot before it's too late. Only there's a problem, one side is fighting to get him to safety, and the other side is fighting just as hard to arrive at the same location for a much more sinister reason. The only thing they have in common is the boy. There are many tie-ins to the last story and a continuation that seems almost confusing at times. The story appears to go in multiple directions all the while trying to stay focused at the same time. This sequel to the 1999 The Mummy movie is entertaining throughout, even though it leaves much to be desired at the same time. Some will love it, others will hate it. Some secrets are secrets for a reason. Come along and find out why.  Original Review: Ancient Egypt has many secrets. Some have been found, many have not. This is the story of an expedition to explore the mythical city of Hamunaptra. Those that have been searching for it will do anything to find it. Those who have been there, are reluctant to return. This is where we meet Evie and Rick, Evie is a Bembridge scholar who is versed in book knowledge. Rick, on the other hand, is a brash and brutish free thinker that prefers to act first and think later. An unlikely situation will bring them together when it is revealed that Rick knows where the city is, Evie cannot resist the urge to explore it further. Together, they venture out for the adventure of a lifetime. What neither of them realizes is they're about to awaken something (or someone) who was never intended to be awoken. Doing so, they'll unleash something that they may not be able to contain. In doing so, they'll risk everything. Will it pay off? Only time will tell, but it's best to remember that some secrets are secrets for a reason... There are violent and gory situations throughout the entire story. When the truth behind what really started this tradition is revealed, the line between winners and losers will be forever blurred. Even if you aren't a fan, this might surprise you.  Original Review: Life has come a long way since the Woodsboro murders. The Stab movies have been a success so far and the filming of Stab 3 has just begun. Sidney has moved on with her life and lives a life of quiet seclusion. With the filming of Stab 3, some of the characters have been recast; as a result, the actors/actresses are turning to the original survivors for inspiration. Only, someone decides to take it to the next level and Ghostface once again reigns his terror on those involved. In order to understand what is happening, the local law enforcement calls upon the original survivors for insight into the case. As the details begin to play out, there are details that will surprise even the most sleuthful audience. When those details are revealed, it will prove that no matter how far we run, we can never outrun our past. Who will survive this 3rd installment (trilogy?) and is this the last of Ghostface? The story seems to come full circle but knowing how the story has gone so far we have to wonder if there won't be more to come. Is this merely a copycat or is there more to the connection to Woodsboro than they realize? As they explore both ideas, some friends from the past come to help. Finding the killer this time will be much harder than they realize. The killings seem much more random this time but something doesn't feel quite right. As Sidney and her friends start to figure out a plan to solve the mystery, a twist will throw everything off track. Wes Craven, a name synonymous with horror, has left a scar on an entire generation. Just as the town is starting to get back to normal, something happens that turns the town upside down. A senseless murder of some young teens sends the town reeling. As the Woodsboro residents are trying to make sense of what happened, it quickly becomes evident that it was only the beginning. One by one, others are targeted by the Ghostface killer. What is the killer after? As the murders continue, who is behind the mask becomes more of a mystery. When what the killer is after begins to surface, a bunch of teens gather together to survive. Just when they think they have outsmarted Ghostface, they soon realize there is more to this than what they thought. When the killer is unmasked, justice can finally be served. Or can it? An unexpected murder mystery that has the typical Wes Craven elements with a few surprises mixed in. It haunted him and cast a shroud of doubt upon him that kept him from fulfilling his potential. Through the impossible, he found a way to move past that when he experienced something incredible. One experience, one person would change his entire outlook on life and help him to realize something that was inside him all along. Incredibly inspiring and uplifting, Bart's story can be a bit intense at times as this story deals with the darkness as much as it does the light. The original, though compelling in its own way left a lot of questions. These chapters (the story is being broken into 3 chapters over 3 years) will fill in many of the gaps of the original.
