    Week 15 vocabulary and sentences

Here is the podcast for week 15 words and sentences. I am also giving you an extra credit opportunity! First of all, the sentences this week should be interrogative. Interrogative sentences are ones which ask a question. Therefore, your sentences must end in a ?....anybody?....question mark!!!! Here is your extra credit: We talked about mnemonic devices (things that help with memory) in class, and I gave you a few examples. Your extra credit will be to come up with a mnemonic device for each of the five words this week, and post them in a comment for others to use. You must do this before Wednesday morning at 8am. That's because we are going to use them to study for our quiz, which will be on Thursday instead of Friday because of the holiday. So get your creative juices flowing and leave some great mnemonic devices for us to use!

Week 13 Review (and possible extra points!)

I wanted to give you a chance to review a bit, and since we are in the computer lab today, I figured you could do it in a different way. Here’s what you need to do. As you listen to the podcast, read the sentences and write down the word that you think goes in each blank. Then write the part of speech and definition for each word. Leave your answers in a comment for me, and that will earn you 5 extra credit points on your vocabulary quiz tomorrow. Good luck, and have fun studying! Review for vocabulary quiz: 1. Vocabulary Week 13

Here we are again, that magical time when you get new vocabulary words. Exciting, isn't it? Lucky for you, the sentences this week are a repeat of an assignment you've already had. So you should all make a 100 right? I thought so... Anywho, have a listen to the podcast, it's great fun. It will give you the words, the parts of speech, the definitions, and a sample sentence for each word (and no, you can't use them for your homework!). Just a quick note on declarative sentences: They do just what they say- they declare. They don't exclaim, they don't question and they don't command. They simply make a statement. Example- My toe is red and puffy. The eggs in the cafeteria are scary. My mom hates when my room isn't clean. Anyway, you get the idea, right? Have fun, do your homework, and try to stay out of trouble. See you guys later!
