    Karen wrote the book, “My Kid’s Gay & I’m OK,” and as she shared her story with the public, she saw the faces of the 47% of the LGBTQ+ population who are disowned by their families once they come out. Inspired by her daughter, Karen founded the registered nonprofit MKGOK with a simple mission: to support the 47% who have lost the support of their families in the pursuit of postsecondary educational opportunities.
