2 Things Can Be True (Many Christians Get This Wrong)

Why Bible Stories Turn Into Pressure (And How Jesus Changes That)

Have you ever walked away from a Bible story feeling inspired—and also strangely pressured? Like now you’re supposed to be braver. Stronger. More faithful. More obedient. And instead of peace, you feel weight. In this episode of My Name Is Daughter, we talk about:1. How a wrong view of Jesus produces pressure2. How a right revelation of Jesus produces peace3. Why application feels natural when Christ is seen clearlyUsing the story of David and Goliath, we slow down and see what happens when Scripture stops making us the hero and starts revealing Jesus as the true Champion who fights for His people.👉 If you want to learn how to read Scripture without pressure, I want to invite you to a free live webinar where we’ll practice seeing Jesus clearly in the text and letting application flow from peace, not performance.Register here: subscribepage.io/freewebinar26If Scripture has felt heavy, this is an invitation to relearn it as good news.👉 Save your seat for the free live webinar here: subscribepage.io/freewebinar26(Replay will be sent to everyone who registers.)💛 Like, subscribe, and share this with another daughter who needs permission to rest in Christ’s finished work.Last week's episode: https://open.spotify.com/episode/0dWIXZVEVpTkQ2ALosVLKq?si=jtPOUnnbTLudLI7_32dFyQ

From Revelation to Response: Why Application Comes After We See God Clearly

Have you ever opened Scripture, felt something stir in your heart—and then immediately felt the pressure to do something? What should I apply? What needs to change? What am I supposed to do next? That tension doesn’t mean Scripture is failing you. Most of the time, it means the order was lost somewhere along the way.In this episode of My Name Is Daughter, we slow that moment down and talk about:1. Why application often feels heavier than it should2. What happens when God’s character is unclear3. Why response only makes sense after we see who God really is👉 If you want to practice this way of reading Scripture with guidance, I’m hosting a free live webinar on FEBRUARY 18th and 19th, where we’ll walk through how to see God clearly in the text without pressure, fear, or confusion.SAVE YOUR SEAT for the free live webinar here: subscribepage.io/freewebinar26(Replay will be sent if you’re registered and can’t attend live.)Last week's episode can be watched HERE: https://youtu.be/PDsZcKd7Ndc💛 Like, subscribe, and share this with another daughter who needs permission to meet God before managing behavior.

Why You’re Struggling to See Jesus in the Bible (And What Helps)

If you’ve ever opened the Bible and thought, “I know Jesus is supposed to be in here… but I don’t actually see Him,” you’re not alone—and you’re not behind. So many women genuinely want to know God and understand His Word, but feel unsure how to recognize Jesus in the Scriptures. Over time, that uncertainty can turn Bible reading into pressure instead of relationship. In this episode of My Name Is Daughter, we talk about:Why many women feel anxiety about “finding Jesus” in ScriptureHow forcing meaning often makes the Bible feel harder, not clearerWhy recognition grows through relationship, not performanceHow a loving Father patiently teaches His daughters to see HimScripture isn’t a test to pass or a puzzle to solve. It’s a place of meeting—where our Father walks with us, teaches us gently, and reveals Himself in time.If Bible reading has ever felt intimidating, confusing, or heavy, this conversation is an invitation to slow down, release the pressure, and learn how recognition actually works.💛 Like, subscribe, and share this with another daughter who needs permission to learn without fear.📧Sign up for weekly encouragement: subscribepage.io/dWUQED

Why Bible Reading Feels Boring (And Why That Matters)

This might be the week when Bible reading doesn’t feel hard—just ordinary. If you’ve ever thought, “I’ve already read this,” or “I don’t feel anything new,” you may actually be closer to spiritual formation than you realize. In this episode of My Name Is Daughter, we explore:Why repetition often feels boringWhy Scripture actually depends on repetitionHow God uses ordinary, repeated faithfulness to shape us over timeWe live in a culture obsessed with novelty, but God is invested in depth. Throughout Scripture, truth is repeated—not because God lacks creativity, but because formation takes time.If you’ve felt pressure to move on when God may be inviting you to stay, this conversation is for you.💛 Like, subscribe, and share this with another woman who might need permission to remain right where she is.

How to Stay Consistent With God When Life Gets Busy

Almost two weeks into the new year, the excitement has faded—and now real life has taken over. This is often the moment when Bible reading shifts from inspirational to practical, and consistency starts to feel like pressure instead of invitation. In this episode of My Name Is Daughter, we reframe what consistency with God actually means. Not perfection. Not streaks. Not keeping up—but faithful returning. You’ll hear:Why consistency doesn’t mean equal output every day.Biblical examples that reveal God’s grace toward our capacity.Practical ways to build rhythm with God without burnoutIf you’re trying to solidify a rhythm with God—or already feel tension between your desire and what you realistically have to give—this conversation is for you.You don’t need more pressure. You need permission to stay.💛 If this encouraged you, please like, subscribe, and share with another woman who may need this reminder. Here’s how we can stay connected:YouTube - https://youtube.com/@athenaavellanet7548 Email list - http://subscribepage.io/dWUQED Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/athenaavellanet Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/athenaavellanet

Why Reading the Bible Feels Hard (And What to Do Instead)

If you started the year wanting to read the Bible more—but already feel like you’re slipping—you’re not alone. And you’re not failing. In this episode of My Name Is Daughter, we talk honestly about why Bible reading often feels unsustainable, especially for busy women and moms, and why that doesn’t mean you don’t love God “enough.”We’ll explore:Why good intentions don’t always translate to consistencyHow Scripture was originally designed to be engagedWhat a slower, more relational approach to the Bible can actually look likeYou don’t read the Bible to become loved. You read it because you are loved.💛 If this episode encouraged you, please like, subscribe, and share it with another woman who might need this reminder today.🔗 Connect with Me🎙 Podcast: My Name Is Daughter📺 Subscribe for weekly faith & Bible study encouragement - http://subscribepage.io/dWUQED 📩 Stay tuned—more coming in February for women who want to engage Scripture relationally, not rigidly.
