19-year old Karmelo Anthony has been found guilty of murder and sentenced to 35 years in prison for killing his fellow track star, Austin Metcalf, which Karmelo claimed was in self-defense. A suit has been filed against OpenAI over ChatGPT's alleged role in the Florida State University shooting that killed two people.  Trump is calling Black women reporters names when asked questions he doesn’t like. First he called Rachel Scott of ABC a “b**ch” and then he called Akayla Gardner of MS NOW a “dumb person.” How does one even respond? On Sunday, a federal judge reinstated New Orleans Court Clerk, Calvin Duncan. But then Louisiana won an appeal with the 5th US Circuit Court to keep Duncan out of office… for now. The Equal Justice Initiative has shown that for every 8 people executed on death row, 1 is exonerated. The bill would have disenfranchised 10s of millions of Americans of their right to vote.    6. Tucker Carlson apologizes for “misleading people” about Donald Trump.   7. The Southern Poverty Law Center has been indicted over their alleged use of paid informants to infiltrate white supremecist, and other extremist groups.    8. After a politician has done something wrong, when do we say they are redeemed? When do we let them back in? Of course it’s different if it's a public figure like a politician vs. just a friend, but are there red lines where we never allow them back again?  There’s been a spate of members of Congress credibly accused of fraud, sexual misconduct, and assault. Who is redeemable and why, and what must they do? There were 133 homicides in 2025, the next lowest year is 1965 with 131. Trump’s DOJ moves to toss out “seditious conspiracy” convictions for the role that members of the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers played in January 6th. According to research from HIT Strategies, 17% of Black men under 50 believe that Trump has made their lives better. Representative Ilhan Omar calls on the left to embrace MTG, Candace Owens, and other MAGA who have disowned Trump.  Congressman Eric Swalwell has dropped out of the California governors race and resigned from Congress (under pressure from his Democratic colleagues) after multiple women accused him of sexual assault. Did they oust him too soon, should allegations be enough to kick someone out? It’s a tough conversation to have post-MeToo Movement, but necessary: how should we respond to credible allegations against politicians that haven’t yet been proven?
