Nativity Homily | Holy Thursday | Msgr. Bob Cilinski
Key points of Msgr. Bob's Holy Thursday Homily:- Just as Jesus stooped to wash His disciples' grimy feet, we are called to a mission of simple service—feeding the hungry, providing for the needy, and looking into the eyes of others with love.- Every human life is sacred from the "womb to the tomb". Whether clergy, consecrated religious, or laity, we all share in the priesthood of the baptized and are called to be "footwashers" through caregiving, teaching, and forgiving others.- Holy Thursday marks the institution of the Eucharist, where Christ remains present in four ways: in the gathered community, in the priest, in the Word, and "par excellence" in His Body and Blood.- "No Hands But Yours"...The major lesson of the Last Supper is to love one another as He has loved us. In the world today, Jesus has no hands but yours to carry out His work of mercy and love.Thursday, April 2, 2026 | 7:00 pm Mass of the Lord's Supper

Nativity Homily | Palm Sunday | Msgr. Bob Cilinski
Key points of Msgr. Bob's homily:- Today we begin the holiest week of the year, a time of special grace and an invitation to share in the love and mercy of Jesus. - We reflect on the intense battle between goodness and evil, witnessing the contrast between Jesus’ humility and the pride of the world, and His truth against the lies of His accusers. - Even if your Lent has felt like a "bust," there is still an open invitation to enter into this week and experience God’s mercy. - We are called to joyfully enter into this week, knowing that the ultimate triumph belongs to Jesus’ love and the victory of His cross. Nativity Homily | Bringing People Back from the Dead | Fr. Jonathan Bennett
Key points of Fr. Bennett's Homily : Fr. Bennett shares that the Mass is his “favorite thing,” a sacred moment where he partakes in and represents the death of Jesus Christ on the altar.Sin is a “little act of death” that ruptures our relationship with God. Just as Jesus raised Lazarus, He uses the priesthood to bring us back to life through the forgiveness of sins.God does not leave us as “dry bones” but breathes His life into us once again.Join Us for Lenten Penance Service this Thursday, March 26, where you are invited to be “brought back to life” through the Sacrament of Confession.Just as Jesus was moved to tears for Lazarus, come with a heart ready to be restored and vivified by the one who is “the Resurrection and the Life”.Sunday, March 22, 2026 | 11:00 am Mass | Nativity Catholic Church, Burke, VA

Nativity Podcast 66. St. Joseph: Model of Marriage, Hidden Holiness, & Surrender to God
Happy Solemnity of St. Joseph! In this episode, your hosts Father Jordan Evans and Mary Castellano welcome newlyweds Jorge and Theresa Stevez, who chose to consecrate their marriage to St. Joseph. This episode highlights the powerful example of St. Joseph for everyday Catholics to grow in holiness by embracing silence in our chaotic world, cultivating a "hidden" life of virtue, and learning to surrender everything to God. Nativity Homily | Laetare Sunday | Fr. Jordan Evans
Key takeaways from Fr. Jordan's Sunday Mass homily: This Laetare "Rejoice" Sunday marks the halfway point of Lent, reminding us that Easter is coming, and motivating us to finish the season strong. Our faith is not just about what we do for God, but is a response to God’s personal and loving invitation to us.Just like the man born blind, Jesus meets us in our places of suffering and "blindness" to initiate a chain reaction of faith that leads us to worship Him.We are challenged to avoid the Pharisees' example. They refused to believe they had any room to grow and therefore rejected Jesus. In these final three weeks of Lent, let us make a thorough examination of conscience and go to Confession to bring our "deeds of darkness" into the light of God's love.Sunday, March 15, 2026 | 11:00 am Mass | Nativity Catholic Church, Burke, VA

Nativity Homily | The Transfiguration | Fr. Jordan Evans
Key points of Fr. Jordan's homily:The first words Jesus spoke to His disciples after the Transfiguration were, "Rise and do not be afraid". He continues to offer this same encouragement to us today, promising to lead us through the darkness. While the disciples saw Jesus’ appearance change, we witness a different "transformation" at every Mass where bread and wine become the Body and Blood of Christ. This mystery is the source of strength for our daily lives.Just as Jesus revealed His glory on Mount Tabor to prepare His disciples for His passion, Jesus offers us grace to sustain us through our own times of hardship. Through Adoration, we have the opportunity to sit in silence and gaze upon Jesus hidden in the Eucharist. Bringing our burdens to Him in this way allows us to hear His words of encouragement in our hearts. We can endure even the most difficult and darkest times of our lives through the light of Jesus Christ.Sunday, March 1, 2026 | 11:00 am MassRead the Sunday Mass readings here.

Nativity Podcast 65. Lent, Almsgiving, & Encountering Jesus in the Homeless with No Hands But Yours
Monetary donations are very important, but almsgiving is about more than giving money... This episode of The Nativity Podcast explores how almsgiving, a spiritual pillar of the Lenten season, can transform your heart through the act of charity. Co-hosts Father Jordan Evans and Mary Castellano are joined by guests John Rubino and Mike Arens to discuss how providing food and supplies to those experiencing homelessness in Washington, DC and Northern VA through Nativity’s No Hands But Yours homeless outreach follows Christ’s own example of loving your neighbor. This discussion illustrates that almsgiving is a relational practice rather than a mere financial decision. This Lent, our hosts challenge you to take a step outside of your comfort zone and give in a way that deepens your relationship with Christ by doing what He asks us, “whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.” (Matt 25:40)Listen to our original episode about No Hands But Yours:https://spotifycreators-web.app.link/e/oHM8OwIiJ0bListen to last year's Lenten episode on Fasting:https://spotifycreators-web.app.link/e/p7Psz3cfG0b
