✼ Season 2 ✼ EP.31: Fabrics Made From Mycellium + Lotus - Fibers From Nature Part One
Welcome back! After a neary-exact two year slumber, the podcast has been finally revived to help you envision what fashion could look like if we change our habits from the inside out, both as consumers and businesses alike. In today’s episode, we’re discussing some incredible fibers from nature. This will be a two-part series as there are a total of four materials we’ll be covering, these being Mycellium, Apples, Coffee and the Lotus Flower. While all of these materials come from nature, the way in which they arrive at the place of fashion are varied, some get there with the help of modern techology and science, while others require percise craftmenship that has been passed on through generations. Today we’ll be covering Mycellium and Lotus. So buckle up, and let’s dive into the world of Fibers Fashioned From Nature.Click Here For Shownotes & ResourcesFollow my fashion design projects on instagram @crisherreradesignFollow the podcast on instagram @naturspiredAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

EP29: What The Fashion Education System Is Gravely Lacking
In this episode, I talk about my experience in the fashion education system and break down core issues that are hindering industry progress, fashion sustainability and innovation. I break things down from unsustainable teaching practices, outdated teaching methods, over-packed curriculums and more. I also spend some time discussing some of the solutions that could revolutionize the way fashion is taught and consequently, produced in a way that nurtures innovative thinking and allows the designers of the future to see human rights and sustainability as the default to start working in fashion.Follow my fashion design projects on instagram @crisherreradesignFollow the podcast on instagram @naturspired.podcastClick Here For Shownotes & ResourcesLike the podcast? EP28: The Power of Positivity in Creating Systemic Change
In this episode, I discuss the power of positivity in igniting action and real behavioural change. Like, you know how we're more likely to adopt a new habit in our lives if it offers a positive solution or makes our lives easier? As humans, we're psychologically wired to want positive incentives to do positive things. And solely focusing on the negative can (in some cases) actually be counterproductive to activism and can result in fear, despair and a sense of hopelessness in our communities. So how do we address talking about the real issues in fashion while also inspiring a positive response? My theory is that by approaching the issues and problems in fashion from an educational perspective, but inspiring action from a place of positivity, excitement and joy, we might be able to create a world or industry that thrives on change. Not one that views change as a tedious task that "has to be done" in order to be considered good people.Follow my fashion design projects on instagram @crisherreradesignFollow the podcast on instagram @naturspired.podcastClick Here For Shownotes & ResourcesAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

EP18: 5 Key Marketing Tips For Growing a Sustainable Brand
BEFORE YOU START: Marketing is important in business. BUT there is a consideration to be had between using marketing solely to increase profits without consideration of your business practices and using marketing to support the positive impact your business is doing. I'm very cautious with how often or how much marketing/sales advice I put out on this platform because my mission is not to promote overconsumption and overproduction but to help society, brands and individuals who wear clothes feel empowered by how you connect to business, fashion and to give you tools to do better in the industry. With that said, this episode is aimed towards sustainable fashion brands who have already done their ethical due diligence in their operations and supply chain, but just need the extra hand in getting the word out there, reaching their target audience and making their mark in the industry.Like the podcast? Ep12: Why Sustainable Materials Won't Save Fashion
I'm not trying to stir the pot, but this is an important thing to talk about. How are we going to create true material change in the fashion industry if all we're doing is mass-producing more of something better? The key to moving the dial towards a sustainable future and a circular economy starts far from the raw materials and has everything to do with how we think, relate and connect to fashion as businesses, brands and as a society as a whole. And this is what we cover in today's episode.→ Subscribe to the newsletter here→ Starting a Sustainable Fashion Brand? Ep08: Is "Sustainability" Losing Its Meaning?
Why is the word "sustainability" losing its meaning? The truth is there is a lack of accountability, policy formation and business structures that clearly and effectively regulate what sustainability means and what it means to be sustainable.Because sustainability and transparency are such key components at Naturspired™, we've implemented the CMA Guidance on Environmental Claims on Goods & Services in our business as a transparency model and a guideline on how we believe businesses should be run.
