Ep 128 Call Her Senator - Karishma Manzur Seeks the US Senate Seat from New Hampshire
The irony of Karishma Manzur's life journey is one for the history books. Born in what would become the country of Bangladesh following a brutal war of independence in 1971, in which more than 3 million people died and Karishma lost members of her own family. Yet, her mother (A "warrior woman" according to Karishma) turned to the source of the munitions that had rained down on them during the war for the peace and stability they sought as they rebuilt their shattered lives. Reflected in the words of Karishma herself who warmly and proudly declares her US Citizenship and reminds people that the American people are good and generous people who are the real source of our country's greatness.Until now, Karishma has focused her energy on her career as a scientist and her passion as an advocate for universal healthcare, campaign finance reform, and peace. Now she has set her sights on the US Senate. All of this leads her to posit:In the richest country in the world, why are millions struggling just to survive?People are suffering from expensive healthcare, low wages, and crushing debt, and we are losing veterans to suicide. As a scientist, Karishma follows the facts, and the truth is clear: too many lawmakers serve wealthy donors, not the people. It’s not just unfair. It’s un-American.https://www.karishmaforsenate.com/
