The VVitch (2015) + Magic Rain IPA
Brian and Megan geek out over The Witch (2015), unpacking Puritan paranoia, Calvinism, and the quiet, creeping dread of a family unraveling in the wilderness. It’s a Job-esque tale of faith tested and fear turning inward—subtle, psychological, and deeply unsettling. Brian’s favorite character? Black Phillip, of course. (Also, Daniel Malik—who plays him—is ridiculously attractive, even though we barely get to see him.) We try Magic Rain Sessions IPA (5.8% ABV)—juicy, fruity, and “fine.” Brian gives it a 6, Megan a 5.5. Feels more like a sour than an IPA Brian also pitches a buddy cop movie with Warwick Davis and Peter Dinklage that absolutely needs to happen!!! Some say The Witch is a feminist film…, but we are not so sure about that.

The Love Witch (2016) + Voodoo Ranger Imperial IPA
Episode 3: The Love Witch + Voodoo Ranger Imperial IPA For Brian’s birthday, we crack open a dangerously strong Voodoo Ranger IPA and dive into The Love Witch—Anna Biller’s Technicolor dream of spells, seduction, and shrines to dead exes. We break down Elaine’s love-’em-then-kill-’em rampage, the film’s hypnotic 35mm visuals, 70s-inspired acting, and whether this is feminist horror or just plain terrifying.

Night Killer (1990) + Kane Head High
For Episode 2 of Nightmares on Tap, we dive headfirst into Night Killer—a baffling, chaotic gem from Troll 2 director Claudio Fragasso (aka Clyde Anderson). It’s part slasher, part psychodrama, and completely unhinged, featuring rubber claws, confused identities, and TWO PHONE LINES in the house. To pair with the madness, we crack open Kane Brewing’s Head High IPA—one of New Jersey’s finest. And once again, Brian’s wife keeps us from spiraling with an on-theme snack: lard bread, in honor of the film’s very Italian energy. In this episode: Argento-style cold open with frantic dancers Obscene phone calls and molestations in the little boy's room (not really) Philosophical debates about what really is “An inordinate amount of seminal fluid”.... And a pairing we’ll… definitely remember #NightmaresOnTap #HorrorPodcast #NightKiller #TubiMovies #CraftBeerReview #KaneBrewing #IPApairing

A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) + Dead Guy Ale
Welcome to the very first episode of Nightmares on Tap! We’re starting strong—with Freddy Krueger, Johnny Depp’s cheekbones, and a Dead Guy Ale from Rogue Brewing (Newport, Oregon) in hand. This week, we revisit A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)—the slasher classic that built New Line Cinema—and dive into dream logic, dad toupees, and the questionable ethics of ignoring your screaming girlfriend. We also unpack Freddy’s odd running style, Glenn’s dinosaur poster, and whether Nancy’s gray streak was lifted from the X-Men’s Rogue.
