Short story: ​It was on the thirtieth of the sixth month (June) that the Congolese people got their independence from the hands of the country of Belgium, under the leadership of Patrice Lumumba and his friends who were there at the Round Table conference in Belgium. Lumumba became a great figure in our history and our first leader of government (Prime Minister). Regrettably, they killed him in the year one thousand nine hundred and sixty-one when he was thirty-five years old. Year after year on this day, we Congolese people remember the suffering our ancestors endured (how they tortured them, forced women in general aka raped & molested them, killed them, and made them see hell at the hands of the people of Belgium). Besides remembering, we also celebrate because of our liberation from the hands of the bastard, greedy and evil kingdom of Belgium.
