E0016: Does God Command Us to Have Kids?
In this episode of On The Way, I talk about a question that many people wrestle with: does God actually command Christians to have children? This conversation led me to spend time in Scripture, looking at what God really says about it. While the Bible shows that humanity is called to be fruitful and multiply, it also makes clear that this is not necessarily an individual command for every person. At the same time, children are consistently described as a blessing, something to be valued and welcomed. As the New Testament is considered, there is also a strong focus on spiritual fruitfulness, reminding us that life is meant to reflect God and build His kingdom in different ways. I also take time to speak to those who are single or walking through seasons of childlessness, because this is not about pressure or comparison, but about understanding God’s design for each life.Ultimately, I share why this may not be a direct command, but is still something deeply encouraged, especially when thinking about the impact of passing faith on to the next generation. My hope with this episode is to encourage you to think about this from a biblical perspective, to pray about it, and to trust God with whatever calling He has placed on your life.

E0015: Raising Digitally Wise Kids (Not Digitally Fearful Parents)
On this week’s episode of On The Way, I’m joined by Melvin from Parent ProTech for a conversation about parenting, technology, and the role our faith plays in how we lead our families today. In a world that is constantly influencing our kids, we talk about what it looks like to stay grounded and intentional as parentsWe get into the importance of being proactive, setting clear boundaries, and creating space for honest, ongoing conversations with our kids. But more than that, this episode is about remembering that we are called to disciple our children, not just protect them.We also talk about trusting God through the process, especially when we feel uncertain or behind. Parenting is not about perfection, it is about being faithful with what God has entrusted to us.I hope this episode encourages you to lead with confidence, to stay rooted in your faith, and to continue showing up for your family with purpose.

E0013: Talking to your kids about porn, sex, and holiness in a digital world
In this episode of On the Way, I talk about how parents can approach difficult conversations with their children in a thoughtful and faith filled way. Rather than reacting out of fear or shame, this episode is about preparation, discipleship, and leading with wisdom. We explore why waiting too long to have important conversations can leave children unprepared, and why parents are called to lead with clarity, curiosity, and grace. I also share a biblical vision for sexuality that is rooted in covenant, dignity, and love, reminding us that God’s design is redemptive and life giving. This conversation offers practical encouragement for ongoing, age appropriate discipleship at home, along with the reminder that boundaries are meant to protect, not punish. Most importantly, this episode points to the hope of the gospel. God’s grace is greater than any mistake, and redemption is always possible through Christ.

E0012: Idolizing your phone
In this episode of On The Way, I’m starting the year with an important conversation that affects every parent and every home. Our phones and the role technology plays in our daily lives. We talk about why phone use is not just a discipline or habit issue, but a spiritual one, and how technology and social media can slowly take the place of God in our hearts if we are not careful. Through Scripture, I share how idolatry is about replacing the Creator with created things and why our attention, worship, and devotion matter.I hope this episode challenges you and encourages you as you start this year with clarity and intention. My desire is that this conversation helps you reflect on what holds your attention, how you are leading in your home, and how to be more present with the people God has entrusted to you. May it serve as a reminder to keep Jesus at the center and continue walking faithfully on the way.

E0011: Raising Kids With Hope (Even When the World Feels Wild)
On this week’s special episode, and as the last episode of the year, my wife Daniela and I sat down with our friends Vlad and Raquel Carias to talk about parenting and the role faith plays in raising children today. Our conversation focuses on practical decisions families make every day and how those choices help build a steady foundation at home, even when the world feels unpredictable. We talk about guiding our kids with intention, staying present in the moments that matter, and setting boundaries that support their development. Vlad and Raquel share experiences from their own parenting journey and explain how trusting God has shaped the way they lead their family through different seasons. We also discuss challenges many parents face in today’s culture, including technology use, emotional growth, and busy routines. E0010: Can you love Jesus and still watch anime?
In this episode of On The Way, I talk about how anime is shaping the hearts and minds of young people and why it is important for parents to understand it. Anime has become a major influence in culture, reaching millions every week and forming the way kids think about love, life, and identity.I share how anime began, why it connects so deeply with Gen Z, and how it can both reflect and distort spiritual truths. Some stories point to themes of sacrifice, redemption, and purpose, yet others promote ideas that move away from what God says about truth and identity. This conversation invites parents and leaders to step into their children’s world with understanding and faith. When we approach culture through the lens of Scripture, we can guide the next generation to know God’s truth, love Him deeply, and follow Jesus with confidence.

E009: Building the Church Without Losing Your Family

My wife Daniela and I had the joy of sitting down with our friends Chris and Lucy Mendez, lead pastors of Hillsong Latin America, for an inspiring and honest conversation about parenting and ministry. Whether you’re a parent, a pastor, or someone trying to balance family, calling, and faith, this episode offers practical insights and encouragement. We talk about what it looks like to raise children who truly love Jesus, how to protect them from the pressures that can come with ministry life, and how to make sure family always comes first. Chris and Lucy share their story of moving from Australia to Argentina with their three children, what they learned about adjusting to new seasons, staying united as a family, and making church something their kids genuinely enjoyed being part of. They also open up about the intentional choices they made to include their children in ministry without overwhelming them or placing unnecessary expectations. This conversation is full of real-life stories, wisdom, and encouragement for anyone trying to lead with faith at the center. BONUS EPISODE: Are baby dedications biblical?
Welcome to the very first bonus episode of On The Way. In these shorter episodes I’ll be answering questions that parents often wonder about as they raise their kids in faith. In this episode I’m talking about baby dedication. Many people are unsure what it really means, how it’s different from other practices in the church, and whether it’s something they should do. I share why baby dedication is about more than a moment on stage. It’s an opportunity for parents to commit themselves to raising their children to know Jesus and for the church to come alongside them in that journey. We’ll also look at how the Bible gives us examples of parents dedicating their children to God and why this practice can be a valuable step for families.I hope this conversation encourages you and reminds you that you don’t have to walk the road of parenting and faith alone.

E008: When Anger Shows Up in Parenting
On this episode of On The Way, I talk about how to handle anger in parenting and how it can affect our relationship with our children. Anger is a natural emotion, but when it controls our responses, it can create fear, tension, and distance. I explain that the root of anger often comes from unmet desires within us rather than the actions of others, and understanding this helps us respond more wisely.I share three important “don’ts” for handling anger: don’t suppress it, don’t repress it, and don’t express it negatively. I also introduce tools like the THINK acronym, which helps evaluate whether our words are truthful, helpful, inspiring, necessary, and kind. With the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we can grow in self-control and model healthy ways for children to handle their own emotions.I explore practical strategies for helping children name their feelings, make response plans, and connect their emotions to God’s grace. Parenting is not about perfection but progress, and leaning on God’s wisdom allows us to create stronger connections, trust, and peace in the home.

E007: Help! My teenager doesn’t wanna go to church
In this episode of On the Way, I’m talking about how we can help bring teenagers and young adults back to church when they’ve walked away from their faith. This is something a lot of families are facing, and while there’s no quick fix, there are intentional steps we can take to make a real difference.I’m sharing seven ways you can create an environment where your kids actually want to come back to church. We talk about the importance of empathy, making church feel safe, getting them involved in serving, teaching the value of church, allowing space for independence, showing grace, and covering everything in prayer.I also take a look at some of the biggest reasons young people are walking away in the first place, things like feeling judged, unseen, or like they can’t bring their questions. These challenges are real, but they’re not impossible to face. There’s so much we can do to help guide them with love and truth.
