Episode 57: First No-No in OABP History and CBA Talks
Chris and Jaden are back talking baseball in another episode of your favorite Reds/Guardians podcast. Chris kicks off the pod discussing two great series from the Guardians before they ran into the buzzsaw that is the Washington Nationals. He then dives in to some concerns he has regarding the bullpen depth in Cleveland. Jaden then dives into the Reds and their righting of the ship as they take series in both Philadelphia and New York and split a rain shortened series against the Cardinals. He talks about the length he is seeing from the Reds lineup during this recent stretch of good baseball. The boys then dive in to the first no hitter thrown in the MLB since the inception of OABP and if combined no hitters are as impressive as solo no-no's. They then hypothesize on why we're seeing fewer no hitters across the league. They talk about one of the streakiest teams in MLB currently. They close the episode out talking about the MLBPA's first set of proposals for the upcoming CBA and what they like about those proposals and how they see the CBA negotiations going as we roll into the meat of the labor discussions.

Jaden breaks down the end of the Reds 8 game losing streak and a concerning bullpen struggle before he talks about how the Reds turned it around over the weekend with the help of their starting pitching. Chris then discusses a shockingly early trade for his Guardians before he discusses the last two series of Cleveland baseball. Sorry for the technical difficulties at the end of this one! In this week's episode, Chris and Jaden make up for lost time by glossing over news from the last month for both the Guardians and Reds. The postseason is upon us and both the Reds and Guardians have made it. Jaden opens up the episode with a breakdown of how his Reds got to this spot and despite what the critics may say he believes the Reds have a chance to make some noise in October. Chris then dives in to how his Guardians made it to the dance and where this recent stretch of baseball stacks up against some other great stretches in recent years. He then talks about how the Guardians will stack up against the Tigers in the Wild Card round. The guys then dive in to some changes coming to the MLB and a couple manager firings now that the season has wrapped up. Lastly, they finish out the episode revisiting the playoff predictions they made in the podcast's infancy and it is safe to say those predictions did not age super well. Chris and Jaden are back to cover another week of baseball with two very different emotional states. Chris discusses a managerial move that may have saved the Guardians season as they continue to play good baseball heading in to the last 2 weeks of the season. Jaden then uses his segment to air quite a few grievances with his favorite team coming off yet another disappointing series against a league wide punching bag. The guys then dive in to Cal Raleigh making more history before they discuss a few teams that have already clinched their spot in October; which Jaden uses as an opportunity to discuss a yearly tradition he has created for himself.
