Ep 207: Enda McLoughlin | The Story Behind P2 Grips and Trident Align
Enda McLoughlin is the founder of P2 Grips and Trident Align, two Irish-built golf brands changing how golfers think about putting performance. He is also a PGA Professional and former head pro at Wicklow Golf Club.In this episode we cover the origin of P2 Grips, a happy accident with a Scotty Cameron that turned into a proper golf equipment business. Enda breaks down the biomechanics of putting, specifically ulnar deviation and why quietening the wrists leads to better putter face control. P2 is one of the only putter grip brands backed by independent bio-mechanical testing from world-leading putting coach and biomechanics expert Dr Paul Hurrian. We also get into Trident Align, the USGA-approved adjustable ball marker Enda invented after discovering he had a right aim bias. If you think alignment on the green is the easy part of putting, this conversation will change your mind.Other topics: the PGA merchandise show debut in Orlando, a P2 grip on Michelle Wie's putter for her 2018 HSBC Women's World Championship win, the challenge of breaking into the tour truck world, and a teaser on an upcoming P2 x Seed Golf collaboration.Whether you're a golfer looking to hole more putts, a coach interested in performance, or someone fascinated by building products from scratch, there's plenty in this conversation for you.🎧 Listen now: www.paddytalksgolf.comAvailable on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube, and all major podcast platforms. The PaddyTalks Golf Podcast is powered by ForeGolf Custom. Ep. 206: Patrick Keeling | Walking on Water at Seapoint
Welcome back to PaddyTalks Golf, powered by ForeGolf Custom. This week I sat down with Patrick Keeling, the 2026 Flogas Irish Men's Amateur Open Champion, plays out of Roganstown, currently on a golf scholarship at the University of Louisville in Kentucky. He flew home on a Monday, teed it up on a Thursday, shot a course record 62 on the Friday and holed the winning putt on Sunday afternoon. His name is now on a trophy alongside Rory McIlroy, Shane Lowry, Padraig Harrington and Paul McGinley. Then he drove straight to Portrush the next morning and finished top ten at the North of Ireland. Some week.We got into the full story and there is a lot in this one. The 62, the faith, Louisville, the family and a dinner table guest list you will not see coming. In this episode:⛳ The course record 62 and what was actually going on in his head as the numbers came up on the board🙏 His faith in Christ and what it looked like standing over a 12 foot putt to win a national championship, including a parable from the Bible that has become his entire framework on the course🇺🇸 The real story of adjusting to college golf in America, a broken wrist in year one, a rude awakening in competition and what Louisville has genuinely done to his game and his head🏆 Sitting at the kitchen table with the Irish Amateur trophy and running his finger over those names🏌️ Driving straight to Portrush the morning after winning and what it takes to reset when there is no time to breathe👨👩👦 The Keeling family, brother Sean on scholarship at Texas Tech, sister Alanna competing at Grand Prix showjumping level🍳 The sourdough, scrambled eggs and black pudding breakfast that won a national championshipFull back catalogue at paddytalksgolf.com. Ep.205: Oisín Keniry | What It Takes to Shoot Golf at the Highest Level
Welcome back to PaddyTalks Golf, powered by ForeGolf Custom. This week I sat down with someone whose work you've almost certainly seen, even if you didn't know his name at the time. Oisín Keniry is one of Ireland's finest sports photographers. Coming through the ranks, Oisín has since built a serious freelance career shooting golf at the very highest level. His images carry R&A and image credits, appear in national newspapers and international publications, and if you've ever stopped on a photograph from The Open, the Irish Open or an Amateur Championship and thought that's a serious shot, there's a very good chance Oisín was behind the camera. But beyond the credentials, this is a conversation about craft, about passion and about what it really takes to build a career doing what you love.In this episode we get into:📸 How Oisín got into sports photography and found his way ⛳ What it's like shooting golf at the very top level and what separates it from every other sport🏆 The moments and shots that have stayed with him🎯 The realities of going freelance and why he wouldn't have it any other way📷 How he thinks about a shot before he even raises the camera🇮🇪 His love for Irish golf and what he sees through the viewfinder that most of us miss from the fairway🔥 What actually makes a great golf photographA note on this one. It was recorded way back at the tail end of 2024 and took a while to get out the door after a bit of audio corruption crept in. But Oisín's story is as valid today as the day we sat down and I'm really glad we got it out. Some conversations are worth the wait.Connect with Oisín: 📸 Instagram: @okeniry 💼 LinkedIn: Oisín KeniryFull back catalogue at paddytalksgolf.com. Ep.204: YouTube Golf vs The PGA Tour | State of the Game
This week on PaddyTalks Golf, powered by ForeGolf Custom, I’m joined by Andrew McCormack for another State of the Game deep dive as we tackle one of the biggest questions in modern golf:Is Creator Golf Replacing Traditional Golf? From Rick Shiels and Good Good to Bob Does Sports and Grant Horvat, creator-led golf has become a major force in the game, attracting millions of viewers and changing how golfers consume content. At the same time, many golfers admit they are watching less live Tour coverage than ever before. In this episode, Andrew and I break down whether creator golf is genuinely replacing traditional tournament golf, or whether it is simply offering something different that modern audiences now prefer. We discuss the rise of YouTube golf, personality versus performance, whether elite golf is losing relevance, what this means for aspiring players, and how this shift is already being felt in Ireland.A relaxed, honest conversation about where golf is heading and whether the game is changing faster than many realise.Listen now at www.paddytalksgolf.comAvailable on Spotify, Apple Podcasts and all major podcast platforms.Follow and Get in Touch with Andrew McCormack:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/amc_golf/The PaddyTalks Golf Podcast is powered by ForeGolf Custom. Ep.200: The Reset: Why Scratch Golf Isn’t the Goal (And What Actually Is)
Two hundred episodes.Six years of conversations.Hundreds of hours recorded.Countless guests.Countless stories.Episode 200 is more than a milestone. It is a reset. In this episode, I reflect briefly on the journey so far and introduce the next evolution of PaddyTalks Golf. The show now moves forward with four clear lanes:🎙 Guest Interviews: Conversations with the people shaping Irish golf. 📈 Beyond Scratch: My personal pursuit of plus two and what everyday golfers can learn from it. 🏛 The Irish Golf Chronicles: Audio documentaries exploring the history, architecture and stories behind Ireland’s great clubs and championships. 🧠 State of the Game: Honest conversations about where golf is heading culturally and competitively. This episode also launches the first instalment of Beyond Scratch:Why This Is Not Really About Scratch.Less than two percent of male golfers are scratch. Yet most golf content is aimed at them. This series is not about chasing elite status. It is about decision making.Course management.Eliminating doubles. And helping the ninety eight percent score better without rebuilding their swing. We explore:• Why most golfers do not need a lesson. They need a plan.• The role of ego in scoring. • What Jack Nicklaus and Scottie Scheffler have in common.• Why better decisions lower scores faster than better swings.• And how this series will evolve moving forward. If you are off twenty, fourteen, six, or chasing plus figures, this conversation applies.Thank you for being part of the first two hundred.Let us build the next two hundred properly.🎧 New episodes weekly.Tune in to the back catalogue wherever you get your podcasts or at www.paddytalksgolf.comPowered by ForeGolf Custom. Carne is a special place. Biblical. Spiritual. Golf on the edge of the world.
